I have a greeting card framed on my wall that says "The world is full of people who will go their whole lives and not actually live one day...she did not intend on being one of them..." If I had to sum up my approach to life, this would be it. I never thought I would be online dating in my 50's but life had other plans and here I am....I am determined to embrace this as a challenge, treat it like the great second chance that it is and make the best of it--is there any other way?

What is important to me: my children (1 (junior) in college/USC, 1 (junior) in high school), my friends, my dog, sunsets at the beach (corny, maybe, but true), photography, travel, music and sports (playing or watching). I like to kayak and just started hiking. Last summer I completed the San Diego RNR marathon (yes, 26.2--got the medal to prove it!) while raising money as a member of Team in Training to benefit the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. It was a life-changing experience and a highlight in my life. I re-joined Team this spring as a Mentor and did the RNR half (13.1 while rocking a purple tutu) and plan to re-join every year for as long as I am able. It would be great to find someone who enjoys this as well, but I would be just as pleased if you are simply willing to be my cheerleader (and I won't make you wear the tutu--really..please don't)
What I'm looking for in you: a smart, happy, funny, kind, honest family man who values friendships, enjoys stimulating conversation (about anything and everything), is fiscally responsible, is ready to start a new chapter/believes the best is yet to come and is willing to take the time to get to know me...whew! Still reading? Good! (extra points!) No substance abuse/issues or drama, please! (I already have a teenager--enough drama potential there!) One more thing: We all have busy, hectic lives and I am not currently willing or able to spend 24/7 with someone at this point in my life (it's on the horizon, but I am not there yet), so if that is what you are looking for now, I am not your match...
A few closing thoughts on Match: I am honest about my age, my pictures are very recent and I have been told I actually look like them--which seems to be a novelty on this site. I'm not into head games or serial dating. I'm not desperate for attention or looking to be saved. I have shockingly little baggage (especially considering what I hear from my dates) and I am not looking for what you can buy me or where you can take me to determine if I am interested in you.
