IРІР‚в„ўm an easy going Midwesterner who loves big dogs, a great sense of humor and deep conversations. I have ridden horses all my life and no, itРІР‚в„ўs not necessary that you do that. A respect for animals and nature are traits I honor. My horse is semi-retired and out of competition but we still go on rides. I rescued a golden retriever/german shepherd pup and he passed away a year ago at the ripe age of 15... I still miss that goofy fun-loving gentle guy. My new rescue is an Australian shepherd mix.
Hiking, book stores, good movies, photography, a cozy pub and Packer games are things I enjoy. IРІР‚в„ўve tried dance lessons and skiing and IРІР‚в„ўm amazingly clumsy at both. I could get into golf when my riding days are over. Most of my family is in the Midwest so I do a fair amount of traveling. I am spiritually connected and IРІР‚в„ўm refining that all the time.
IРІР‚в„ўm a creative self-employed graphic/digital designer, have worked for many software startups and have survived. I have a handful of good clients and a couple of entrepreneurial endeavors, one involving animal-related non-profit organizations.
I'd love to meet my Best Friend, with a great sense of humor... someone to goof off with but knows when to be serious. In the meantime, just be yourself and I'll try to do the same. Financially responsible and a desire to communicate are also good things. I grew up in a sports-minded family and appreciate the ESPN highlight reel.
My fiance died some years ago and it has taken me a while to get serious with the dating scene. That said, I try to live life with gratitude and when I slip, good friends and my brothers kick me in the butt. I've also done a little writing, a little drawing, and I'm learning Native American weaving on a loom this summer. Love to read too.

During the week I am a family practice physician treating newborns as well as grandparents. I find it gratifying getting to know the entire family through continuity of care. My days are never dull.

Where you might find me is in Scotland during the Annual Military Tattoo. The crowd becomes quiet as the last song is played from the lone piper from the top of Edinburgh castle.
You could also find me visiting with friends in their backyard overlooking Lake Como. The view of which is only rivaled by the first moment stepping off the train in Venice.

But a Lagunitas on a summer evening is pretty great, too! I love a good cup of coffee.
I photograph when I travel and enjoy editing, printing them and creating photo books. I recently took an art new media class and have been altering images to create collages and other artwork. Since my work is in graphic and Web design, these projects have been a natural melding of technology with traditional art. I'm a visual person and am always aware of what's going on around me.
In Sacramento, IРІР‚в„ўm more of a midtown/downtown person and enjoy the cafes and coffee shops and stores. IРІР‚в„ўd like to learn more about hiking and camping (partially due to a craving for SРІР‚в„ўmores). Future travel destinations on my list include Miami (my birthplace that IРІР‚в„ўve never revisited), Argentina, Mexico and more of Europe and Africa. I always love going to San Francisco, the coast and mountains, wine country, the redwoods -- I love a gorgeous landscape as much as skyscrapers. My recent trip to Africa reaffirmed for me the idea that nature shows us sites more beautiful than we can create or imagine.
