Live life to its fullest, work hard and play hard. Family, Faith, Friends and Fun are the most 4 important "F's" in my life in that order. I enjoy walking in the surf every day, watching the sand pipers, the dolphins, pelicans, surfers and sun bathers. I also enjoy learning about everything, history, culture, life, and this weird universe we find ourselves living in. I like to read about all this (Brian Greene, etc), walk in natural settings and old towns (not malls!), visit old places, plus museums, aquariums, botanical gardens, zoos, etc. In between, I like to have coffee or dinner on the boardwalk, talk and watch the sun go down.
I am a scientist, but with an unusual background. I got a doctorate in physics from Stanford where I worked in astronomy and astrophysics, then changed fields to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. After 13 years, I returned to physics, and spent 20 years working as a physics professor in the school of medicine at the University of Washington. I hate cloudy days (of which Seattle has a surplus), so it was with a real sense of relief that I was able to retire from the university position and move to San Diego 5 years ago. Since then, I have worked part time as a math tutor. I love my students, who range from 8 year old children to middle aged adults returning to school.

I grew up a classically trained ballerina and danced through college but haven't taken a ballet class in about a year! I've recently gotten into ballet type workouts like Pure Barre and the Barre Method so that kinda counts as ballet class, right? I also love finding new places to run and hike here. I'm still exploring the city but I feel like even being here for several years there would be exploring to do. I like trying new activities. I recently went sky diving and I just bought a groupon for spear fishing. I also have a rambling spirit. I've been known to sporadically buy plane tickets to places on a whim. It makes for some fun stories.
As for the guy ... I've been told I'm very picky. Chances are if you have a pic on match with your car or a cell phone pic you took of yourself, you're not my type. .. Im from Mississippi so I like the perfect combination of a country boy and a gentleman. By country I mean you hunt and fish and know how to survive in the woods and don't mind camping in the woods for a few days. No pretty boy guys who can't get dirty. I also dislike gelled hair or any guy who appears to primp longer than me.
DEAL BREAKERS: I don't want to date anyone who is not physically fit and does not take care of their body. I also am not interested in dating someone who is not a Christian. I've been down that road before, and it does not work for me in a dating relationship. However, if you just want to hang out and be friends, I don't care what you believe religiously.
