Date men and women from North Park, United States. Hi! I've been living in San Diego (compliments of the US Navy) for a four years now and I love it. I can't imagine ever living someplace else. There is so much to do, so many great places to eat and drink and be merry.

I'll be finishing my contract soon (less than a year left, and no, I'm not deploying again), and I'm looking for my next adventure. My plans are never set in stone, and I tend toward optimism and idealism. To me, nearly EVERYTHING sounds like a good idea and I firmly believe that things tend to work out for the best. I'm sensitive... I cry like a moron at some movies. I'm sometimes a little too outgoing but maturity is tempering that impulse somewhat. If I'm upset, I mope (I'm working on that too.) I'm good with money: I take care of the things I own and I live within my means (my only debt is a car loan) though I could probably spend less in restaurants. I just REALLY love good food... and I don't mean Olive Garden or Appleby's.
I love, love my friends as though they were my family. I absolutely must have meaningful relationships (and the affection that goes with it) in my life or I feel unanchored. I'm very lucky in that respect. My actual family, back home on the East coast... man, what a bunch of characters. We are the stereotypical immigrant Italian family with the nutty Mom and the cigar-smoking, black-socks-with-sandals Dad. You know what... watch an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond. The similarities are uncanny.
I don't do alot of nature stuff. I'm much more a city girl. I probably wouldn't enjoy camping, but I've never been so I don't know. I'm also a terrible swimmer... my skillset is confined to doggie-paddling. Boating is cool, though. I'm not athletic, like, at all. I'm actually kind of clumsy and I'm afraid of the ball. Being at the beach is great, but I tend to relax and bake my skin rather than go in a game of volleyball or whatever. I don't mind watching; I'm having fun regardless. But I do want to branch out and try different stuff soon... I'm a little tired of being an indoor cat, especially in such a beautiful environment. It's beginning to feel like a terrible waste.
I'm also kind of a nerd... I love mind-bending articles about discoveries in science, even if I only understand it on a conversational level. I follow political issues but I don't get rabid about (most of) them. I read a lot.
I'm looking for someone who who can hold his own in a conversation, who is reasonably well-read and intellectually curious about the world around him. Political hard-righters or ultra-Christian individuals need not respond... though I hate to be discriminatory, those ideologies do not appeal to me on any level, and truthfully it's just not going to work out.
I enjoy generosity in men but I do not want to be "taken care of". Small gestures of kindness are sweet, as long as they are able to be reciprocated. I'll let you get the door the first few times, but really, I'll take it from there.
