O.K. I now know that my brief profile of 34 words is lacking in information about me and who I am looking for, so here goes ! Before you read further you may wish to put a smile on your face since I have one while I am writing this. People always comment about what a great smile I have and this will be your chance to practice one ! I also have a sense of humor and it may just peek through!
I'm a mid-westerner having been brought up in Oak Park , Illinois along with Frank Lloyd Wright who proceeded me there so I never met him and had to settle for walking by his house. Yes, I am an only child but was lucky to share my childhood with 5 male cousins so wasn't spoiled except I was a tomboy so I could play with them. That only lasted until my parents decided to return to their roots in the Twin Cities and took me along. I was a Golden Gopher or I should say I received my college education at the U. of Minn. where I completed my graduate work in Social Work. I only worked as one for 3 yrs. before I retired to "stay at home" motherhood with my 3 children!
We moved out here 45 yrs. ago and in addition to housewife/mother to my 3 children I challenged the school system by becoming a maverick P.T.A. president twice. When my youngest was 12 I went to work part-time but soon developed into a full time management position as a Methods Analyst/Compliance Officer with a large credit union.
It seems that my life has been lived in 22 yr. segments. I was in school for 22 yrs., married for that same period of time, worked in the job for 22 yrs. and now I am working on the next 22. I did follow retirement with a part -time job in compliance with a law firm for 8 yrs. and now I attend concerts, plays, lectures and go to art museums, movies (preferably foreign films), read a lot, am in 2 book discussion groups, and do some volunteering. I am also searching for"Mr. Right" or my "soul mate" or someone who is still functioning and communicating with a sense of humor! I do like to laugh and enjoy life. I am not looking to change someone to meet my expectations since I learned many moons ago that it simply doesn't work.
Personality wise, I am not at all competitive! My weaknesses are clothes, cars, soft serve non-fat yogurt and men with a sense of humor. My closets are full, I have new car, too much yogurt is fattening so I guess that some man with that sense of humor
would be what I seek. However, I am not into long hikes, bicycle trips, mountain climbing or traveling around the world (my feet get cold on airport floors). I wear very little make-up, don't dye my hair, haven't used Botox or had plastic surgery and accept every wrinkle I have since I really earned them.
So if you have a good sense of self, enjoy the arts, communicate well and take chances with the unknown...........try a wink or an e-mail !!!!!!
