I've enjoyed being single for 8 years and have a full life with many interests and friends. But I miss having a special man in my life. To feel a protective arm around my shoulders and a strong hand holding mine while strolling on a stormy beach are just 2 of the things I'm longing for. As I approach retirement, I know it is time to get serious about finding that special man to share the next chapter of my life with. I am a bit shy and have not been too agressive about meeting men and am not very experienced at this dating business. So far I have spent most of my life happily devoting myself to my family and a successful career. I am in a place now where I want to experience new things. I have a lot of time off work with 5 weeks vacation, 10 holidays and 13 furlough days (yep! Government employee). I feel like I work part time and I love it! I'm free to do so much more. I've tried a number of new things in the past couple of years like dancing lessons and art classes. I enjoy going to the gym and can get lost in a bookstore for hours. Traveling is something I really want to do, but would like to share the experience with a special man to create forever memories. There is time now to take a bigger interest in politics and world events. There's so much to learn, see and do. Will you join me on this adventure? One of my favorite things to do is to take road trips, short or long, seeing the sights and enjoying the wonders of nature and exploring out of the way places in small coastal or country towns. Do you like to cook? It's so much more fun bumping into each other in the kitchen. BBQ's and dinners with family and friends are on top of my list. Or I can be just as happy with a quiet evening at home with a good book, movie or snuggling with a friend.

I consider myself to be a low maintence kind of gal. I'm missing the female shopping gene! Don't care for pink or purple either. Way over done! But I am 100% female, take pride in my appearance and I'll take diamonds any day. Just because I'd rather spend the day in Home Depot than at the mall doesn't mean I'm not a real woman. I also have a good sense of humor that sometimes crosses the line for a "lady" and I can hang out with a bunch of rowdy boys just as easily as sit around and gossip with the girls.
