Date single man from California, United States. I'm adventurous, thoughtful, social, and believe that the business class upgrade with miles is the 8th wonder of the modern world. I'd say my best qualities are being a great uncle, and being a fun, loyal friend to the random people I've met along the way - many who go back to kindergarten.
My favorite candy is red vines. Favorite TV show Law and Order. Movie Usual Suspects. Ice cream jamocha almond fudge. Board game Scrabble. Appliance waffle maker (Though in truth I don't own one and have resorted to frozen waffles...)
I'd love to meet a woman who is a open-minded and speaks her mind. Who is youthful and mature. And who takes care of her body and soul. I find a great smile very attractive. And I'm comfortable with a woman who is independent, but who also enjoys physical and emotional contact.
Meet people from United States. Hey, thanks for reading this.
About me: I am a loving, supportive and faithful man with a very broad range of interests. I love the physical - working out, hiking, etc. but I am also a continuous student and spend a lot of time reading, writing, doing research and teaching (voluntarily).
Anything outdoors attracts me - hiking, biking, skiing, scuba diving; I'm also commercially-rated pilot and love the freedom of flying. I am also somewhat of a language geek and love picking up new languages..
I've been a software entrepreneur for many years: aviation software and other software development start-ups.. - I now work as a software development consultant and own my own business.
I am looking for a woman (not a girl, but a woman who knows what she wants..) who really loves adventure and trying out new things, but is very feminine at the same time; a woman that is positive and happy with her life, is mature and ready for "the next step" (i.e. raising a family) and a life-long commitment... I'm very honest, loyal, never play games and expect the same.
You should know that I am a Christian man, a follower of Christ who is my Lord. This is probably enough to turn-off most on here, but if you know the joys and blessings that come with true faith in a risen Savior, we might be a good fit.
If this sounds like you - I really look forward to hearing from you.
...good luck with your search...

Date a soulmate from California, United States. I'm a quick-witted guy who works hard and loves to find the fun/humor in everything. I can be a little enigmatic, but it won't take you long to figure out that under the external shell is a caring, giving soul. I would love to find someone who has a sharp sense of humor, who is energetic, and can range from being very serious to whimsical.
My friends say I'm open, rarely defensive, and take everything in stride. My friends are generous souls :) .
I'm looking for someone who is self-confident, a little sassy, wants to go at it as equals, but who also has a soft vulnerable underbelly, just as I do. I want to be open and honest and giving and vulnerable -- hope you want that too.
As for fun activities - how about a day at the beach listening to Sinatra or Etta James or Michael Buble' while grazing on snacks? Or we can find a good restaurant, eye the dishes, and compare notes about which place we've been to before that serves something like that, only better!
As for less indulgent fun activities, I enjoy a good bicycle ride - can be leisurely and enjoying the wonderful scenery we have here in the Bay Area or can be fast and competitive! I have a tandem so if you wanted to try that, I'd love it. I also enjoy quiet time at home - discussing the day, laughing at crazy stuff that comes in the mail (especially this time of year with holiday catalogs, etc.)
To give you a good idea of my sense of humor, recent movies I like include Dinner for Shmucks, Bridesmaids, Horrible Bosses. TV shows I like are Arrested Development, The Office, and Curb your Enthusiasim.
Legacy humor (and be prepared to hear me quote lines from these movies) include Stripes, Caddyshack, Blues Brothers. SNL from the early days up through Phil Hartman/Chris Farley era.
What makes you laugh?
Meet people from California, United States. Me, in a paragraph? Where to begin? Not a huge fan of lofty "life-statements," but here goes: I strive for balance in my life and I value that trait in the people I know. I like to think that plays out by being "into" a variety of things--road biking, wine, cooking, competitive car-singing (j/k), snark? -- but not any single one so much that it defines my life. Here's a mash-up: I read the NY Times editorials but also have been known to peruse The Onion; I listen to and support NPR in one minute and switch to a country station and sing along in the next; I have no compunction about dropping a multi-syllabic word (like "compunction"!) in conversation if it's appropriate on the one hand, but probably use the expression "No way, dude" all too often on the other; I am thankful for the wisdom of my years but am fiercely young at heart. Confused yet? =)
Doing things "well" for the people around me makes me happy, though lately, I think I've gotten better about just letting things "happen." For you enneagram buffs, that makes me "a 2, with a 1 wing." For the rest of y'all, I guess you can just label me a "helper with a bit of a perfectionist streak" -- cooking a gourmet meal for friends is one of my favorite pastimes.
I'm really pretty easy-going about most stuff, but like anyone, I've got my "hot-button" issues too. Examples? I think life is way too short to eat bad pizza and I am bothered by people who drive Hummers for nothing more than trips back and forth to the grocery store. I mean, c’mon, what would Freud say? Okay, not exactly life-altering stuff there, BUT these things matter! ;) I hope you're smiling at least a little bit. Did I mention that I love to make people laugh?
*Insert your own super-smooth segue here, 'cuz I can't think of one!*
I am also family-oriented, i.e. I want to have a family (If you don't want the same, it's a non-starter), and care a lot about the people in my life. I'm not here for a hook-up; game-playing is not my style. I want the same in a partner.
Hmm...What else? Well, I am smart, romantic, compassionate, and funny (and humble? ;-P ) and I believe that many of the challenges we face could be fixed if we'd all just be a little less selfish and a bit more willing to sacrifice for the sake of one another. Finally, and not to be overly serious here, but I think many people don't get this: I know the difference between infatuation (the feeling) and love (the decision). How's that for a "show-stopping big finish?" Too much? ;-)
Beyond that, you have to meet me and talk to me for the rest!
WANTED:The words "wholesome intellectual" describe you and you like to laugh. How's that for being direct and to the point? :)
Snarkiness (Is that even how you spell THAT?) aside, I want to meet someone who is intelligent and educated, but hasn't fallen prey to the cynicism about people that sometimes permeates the world.
My match has a good heart and mind and is honest and sincere in her words, but isn't so serious as to be condescending. I tend to be attracted to "girly girls," but not so girly that putting on a pair of jeans and a baseball cap seems like donning a costume to you. Like my description above, I also want to be with someone that is family-oriented, i.e. wants to have a family. Having a good sense of humor and loving to laugh are big pluses as well.
It's also important to me to be with someone that is active and devoted to developing some common interests with me. That's not to say we should like ALL the same things, but I hope I can bring new things to your world and would be happy to learn some new ones from you as well.
Above all, I want someone with whom to share life's journey: the proverbial yin to my yang. ;-)
Sound like you? Well, what are you waiting for? Drop me a line! (My profile is currently inactive, so if you've emailed, I apologize for not getting back to you. I'm taking a break from dating, but hope to resume in a few months).
Date men and women from United States. Hello, and thank you for visiting me here at Match.com!
I am here to attract the best possible companion, given my inherent gifts and limitations.
My match is someone who is smart, funny, and sexy. She sees the humor in life. She has nothing wrong with her whatsoever...;p
In short, I am looking for a woman who is comfortable with me being comfortable with her being equally comfortable in JEANS AND FLIP FLOPS on the one hand, and HIGH HEELS AND A LITTLE BLACK DRESS on the other, as long as that doesn’t interfere with her ability to enjoy a moonlit walk on the beach, with the important caveat that if I don’t accept her giant furry friend-slash-roommate, then there may be trouble brewing ahead for us. Added props for anyone who is not vehemently opposed to a weekend in the WINE COUNTRY! Lastly, she probably never saw herself on an online dating site, but here she goes (tee hee)!!
Here is some more information about me, presented in a convenient yes/no format....
Yes: Radiohead
No: Creed
Yes: The Big Lebowski
No: Lord of the Rings
Yes: The Wire
No: Reality TV
Yes: Nick Hornby
No: Trilogies from Sweden involving an unattractive, pathological goth chick and a bunch of other trite characters engaging in clipped, boring dialogue; a tedious story line punctuated by preposterous twists of plot; and (inexplicably) several technology product placements.
Yes: NYC
No: Vegas

Meet someone special from United States. Would love to meet a sweet girl who loves adventure and passion. Wine and candles. Is up for a getaway, the beach, pizza, an art exhibit, or beers or cocktails at a wonderful dive bar full of interesting people. Laughter, joy, and delight a must. Not really working this site these days. You can always reach out to me at. If you search for steveology you'll easily find how to reach me at my blog or social profile. Your smile gets mine.
Date a man from Menlo Park, United States. Tall, former Midwesterner who loves intelligent banter, new challenges, and hikes sprinkled with speculative musings about life, love, and the pursuit of the perfect cookie. Most defining of me may be my intense curiosity about everything around me. How, Why, and What figure prominently in my vocabulary.
This Hank is seeking his Dagny. We challenge each other, and each brings the other to new places.
I strive to be outside and active on my weekends, keeping in touch with the natural world around me. Listen carefully, and you might hear me piloting that small plane overhead, bound for adventures undiscovered, but you'll never catch me watching ESPN. With food, I'm adventurous and appreciative, but never a snob, though I will snub those factory tomatoes in favor of the heirlooms growing in the back yard. Wines red and bold, chocolate dark, and ice cream with accessories. Put me on a calm sunny lake in a canoe on a fall day with the red-wing blackbirds squawking in the distance and I'm a happy camper. Put me in a loud dance bar with smokers and attitude, and I'm ready to leave. I'm usually pretty direct, but coming from the Midwest I'm always ready to lend a helping hand because those roots have taught me that when all is said and done, it is our relationships with others that matter the most.
You come standard with your own opinions that you're not afraid to share. I've found I do best with those who have a good sense of independence and a poor sense of professional sports. Someone who is intelligent and understands that men and women tend to see the world through different lenses. You're witty (might include a splash of sassy), thrive on good conversation, and share my curiosity about life. We both embrace witty banter like oxygen. The thought of a co-produced dinner and off-beat DVD won't cause you to break out in hives. You're a good person, but not a perfect person. Very smart is very sexy, and you'll win double-word score if science is more interesting-than-scary to you. Vegans, church goers, those uncomfortable with their age, or are just looking for a hook-up best click elsewhere.
Send a wink if you like, but a genuine email has a far better chance for us.
