I was all set to go to Sydney, Australia in 2008 to manage a development team until the economy intervened. I had a nice 2 month trip to Sydney on someone else's dime and even leased an apartment with a respectable view of the Harbour Bridge before that particular dream came crashing down. The view would have been awesome on New Years Eve. Alas… I accepted my former employer's early retirement offer and eventually found my current position as a consultant with a large healthcare firm in Pleasanton. I am working as a business/systems analyst on an enterprise-scaled data warehouse project for this firm. My goal is to transition to full time status with this firm and they are mostly agreeable with that idea.
I have a small townhouse here in Livermore where I have lived since 2003. I moved to the Tri-Valley area from the South Bay in 1996, and I have lived in the Bay Area since 1960. I was born in Southern California and so I am a California native son.
I don't really expect my ideal partner to share all of my interests, but a few would be cool. Personal fitness-wise, I run and I am a road bicyclist. I am an amateur photographer, and I have had some of my photos published in specialty magazines. Motorsports is a bit of a specialty, but I also enjoy taking my camera along on hikes. I am a bytehead by nature, so you can assume technology is a hobby as well as my job. I am a car enthusiast and I participate in autocross events held by the regional marque club each month. I enjoy good movies, museums and galleries, concerts (jazz and classical, mostly, but I am flexible if the music is good), dining out, cooking, and just generally exploring.
I have never been married. Life just hasn't worked out that way for me, at least not so far. Nor do I do have any children.
I was brought up to be a gentleman so please humor me and let me open doors for you, walk on the traffic side of the sidewalk and such. I love giving flowers but I promise not to overwhelm you and turn your home into a greenhouse.
Faith is not a quality I possess, but my moral framework was shaped by regular attendance at church when I was a child. I subscribe to a lot of what I leaned there, but I am not dogmatic about it.
So who am I attracted to? My best friend, of course. Life is a lot more fun when it is shared with someone special. I am looking for a friend first, and if what we share grows into something more, then that would be perfect. Cute and stylish would be good. A nice sense of humor but with a serious side too.
