I'm on this site to try something different. I don't go to clubs or bars, and don't really get out to 'adult' only type places because that isn't my 'thing'. I enjoy spending time with my kids and we plan family type outings as much as we can. I became a widow when they were very young and focused on them 100%. They are now at the point where they aren't as dependent on me anymore and I am finding I get a few moments to myself to enjoy.
I do tend to have a sarcastic sense of humor, but have learned to bite my tongue. I am a strong and confident person, physically, emotionally and mentally. I love to laugh and enjoy a fun night with friends. I have learned to do things for myself and have become very independent in the last 6 years. I am not your high maintenance 'girly-girl" I can change a car tire, change my oil in my car, use a ladder and do most minor home repair. On the other hand I also don't have a problem asking for help when I need it and can clean up very well. I enjoy camping, being outdoors, road trips and staying active. We go camping once a month and would like to continue doing this as long as I can. We go to Lake Powell for a week every Summer and enjoy water skiing, hikes, games, and all the other water toys we take. When we aren't in the water or snow, I take my Rhino out to the desert for some off roading.
I tend to stay on the side lines at a social gathering/party, I'm pretty shy at first but will warm up to any situation. It's hard for me to take a break or enjoy something for myself unless everyone in the house is happy and content. I have taken up half-marathon running and am loving it. It is such a physical, and mental challenge that it helps me focus on myself for a bit. I am working on a personal best right now and am hoping to achieve that soon so I can then start training for a triathlon. Also once I have both kids in school I will be able to focus more on my cross fit training. I believe in keeping healthy and living a healthy lifestyle. I cook every night that we are at home, but don't get me wrong, who doesn't enjoy their splurge of In-N-Out every once in awhile. It is never a dull moment around here and I wouldn't have it any other way! Spontaneity is the word of the game. I'm a stickler for on-time schedules but always ready to go if something should come up. I appreciate friendships, and understand that we all need our space. I don't mind a 'boys night out or boy time' but remember it's gotta go both ways.
I am looking for someone who enjoys the outdoors, staying busy, loves to laugh, is strong and confident in themselves, and spending time with family. They have got to have their crap together and enjoy what they do for a living.
