I am a college administrator and have worked in higher education all my professional life. I get to work in a field where I help people and occasionally change lives. It can be very rewarding. I have acquired a certain amount of status in my field and have the opportunity to be involved in devloping national and state policy, which is what I really enjoy. I am divorced and never (unfortunately) had children. My siblings thing it is because I grew up as the oldest of 8 kids and had my fill of raising kids at an early age. Actrually I would have loved children, but it just never happened. I compensated with a dog for a while, but am now flying solo. I think that our lives are shaped by the people that are in them and I am looking forward to meeting you.

I love my work with adolescents and have no plans to retire but would make room in my life for a man who both sees and loves the strong and fragile side of me. I have the most amazing family (meaning my three children, one granddaughter, four sisters, two brothers and 17 nieces and nephews! Whew!!!!) We are close despite living all across the country.
I love the usual things.... the ocean, the mountains, travel.... sunrise (don't see THAT too often!) sunset and the midnight stars in Sedona...., people, great conversation, music (almost all kinds)and most especially taking time with that special someone.... sharing our busy days... planning adventures and/or time with our respective families. Dancing has been a lifelong love of mine. My dad taught me ballroom dancing and I learned swing and salsa as I got older. I'd love to find someone who enjoyed it too!
I've never understood the age "thing". Age is relative.... I know young people who are far older than I (and not in a good way).... they are stuck, not open to ideas, unwilling to try things or learn things.... I am in a constant state of growth.... exploring my political thoughts, finding friends of all ages and learning more and more about technology ( I've been an "Apple Girl" since Apple came out with their Apple 2E!) I love my 4GS, Ipad and Macbook... though I can't say I spend much time on Facebook or "tweeting"!
I can't say exactly what I am looking for in a partner but I know that most of us are looking for the same basics.... honesty, integrity, an ability to be open and communicate, humor etc.... I belong to a country club and enjoy it very much. I'm grateful for the wondeful life I have led but I I don't feel it's over yet. I am extremely adventursome. I have bungy jumped in New Zealand White water rafted in New Zealand. I love to be very spontaneous. I give a lot back to the world as I have been so fortunate in my life time. I have traveled the world but ther are a few places I have missed. I really want to go to So. America on a cruise to be able to pack my clothes and have my hotel follow me. I like long walks anywhere as I love Nature. I do love to dress up but I also can be casual. the Huntington library and Descanso gardens are favorite places of mine. The only thing left on my bucket list is sky-diving. Most of my flight attendant friends want to know why any one would jump out of a perfectically good airplane but I would love to try. I enjjoy cooking, Entertaining, and error on the side of creativity. I love to make flower arrangements, decorate cakes and plan parties. I would like to have a companion that can keep up with me and my schedule and also find time for love and affection as I adore cuddleing and kissing.
