I was blessed to know and to this day admire my father. I think this one factor in my life that may be the most important. He was a good and honest man who really enjoyed people and instilled in me the same traits. My mother is still alive and my father has past. Both are/were very hard working honest people who had a 46-year marriage in which I never saw them fight or disrespect one another. This too is a blessing because I know what a successful relationship looks like, it is not a mystery that I feel I have to experiment to get right at the expense of my mate. Basically, you must like and respect the person you are with because once you do not like or respect them you cannot love them deeply or in a way that will make you want to wake up next to them for the rest of your natural days.
