Date a soulmate from Half Moon Bay, United States. OK, so here's the bottom line- I'm a really nice guy. Everybody that meets me likes me. You could say that I'm "disarming". If you are familiar with the Eneagram, I am the perfect 9. I love all animals, but consider myself a "cat person". I have a very long fuse (probably too long). And I look young for my age. Hardly anyone believes me when I tell them how old I am. I should probably lie. I'm not all that good at meeting women, though. I have trouble relaxing and being myself. Occasionally, there's that instant "spark", like we're meeting for the first time, but it's like we have known each other forever. Doesn't happen too often, though; and never, it seems, under the right circumstances. I'm not an especially outgoing person, and except for movies, I don't particularly like going out by myself. I'm looking for someone to share experiences with and learn from each other. I was married for 15 years and was totally devoted to my wife. Fortunately, there were no children when we divorced. I may be crazy, but I'd still love to start a family, although I'm not so big on adoption. I come from a family that cherishes relationships. My parents were married for over 55 years before my dad died. MY brother and sister-in-law have been married almost 50 years. My sister and brother-in-law have been married over 40 years. My niece and her husband are going on 25 or so years. You get the idea.
I don't like to pigeonhole, but if I were to describe the woman I would be most attracted to, she would be;
Self-assured, outgoing in a fun way, with a child-like sense of adventure. Knows what looks good on her, and has her own style. A woman who is obviously comfortable in her own skin. Also, someone that knows how to have a healthy relationship. Non-judgemental, patient. Well proportioned physically, maybe a little on the tall side (my mom was 3" taller than my dad). People would say, "Now there's a cute couple!" when we walked down the street together.
Meet single man from Half Moon Bay, United States. I am a retired teacher. I am now taking some long deserved time for myself. I am concentrating on health and fitness and have a long way too go. but it took 20years to get here and spending one or two to get back in shape seems reasonable. Bucket list time
Date a soulmate from Half Moon Bay, United States. I live in a world of interesting people doing interesting things ranging from the medicine, bio-sciences, public policy, inventions, economics, government and unicycling. I have three grown children, away from the house. I cycle daily (the two wheel kind). I'm looking for someone who is interested in everything as I am. I am a hands on builder of dreams. I am looking for a partner who is willing the share real world adventures as well as those of the mind.
If there is one ear mark that describes a person worth investing time and energy in as a friend it is what they give to other people of their own accord. Those people who give their time to help make other peoples lifes better by definition have all of the rest of the attributes I am looking for.
I spend my spare hours teaching kids and adults the process of inventing through robotics here on the coastside. (Half Moon Bay) I am passionate about opening kids minds to what they can create. I don't teach them robotics, I teach them to teach themselves. I know my job is done when I offer them help and they say "Step aside, I'll figure it out myself". What I tell them when they ask "What they can do in return", I tell them they can teach someone else to teach themselves.
Meet a man from Half Moon Bay, United States. I'm just a normal, hard-working guy...been at the same job for over 27 years now. University educated and then some; former U.S. Army Captain. Spent time in Law Enforcement in S.F. and the State of California. Love good restaurants and fine dining, attending the symphony, rodeos, and USF basketball games. Enjoy college football and the 49ers, Giants too....but not addicted to Sports.
I fly-fish with a passion because it brings me to the prettiest places on the planet....the mountains! I horseback ride and attend Cowboy Action Shooting events as a competitor and do historical western reenactments.
Looking for a normal, attractive woman who rides or would consider learning. Any 'cowgirl' types out there? I'm your huckleberry!
My goal in retirement is to have a small ranch somewhere, preferably on a fly-fishing stream or river within walking distance. Am considering Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah, or New Mexico. A few horses, some dogs, and maybe a goat or two works for me. If I have to go to Plan "B", then a log home w/ acreage in the Sierras.
I am politically aware and a Conservative. Enjoy O'Reilly, Hannity, and Rush...listen to Fox News. If you watch Chris Matthews or others on MSLSD, we probably have nothing in common; I suggest you "click on" and go to the next guy, because Liberals need not apply here.
So if you like horses and might like to try flyfishing, and are searching for your 'inner cowgirl' to come out, give me a try. I am more than willing to throw 100%, unconditional love, to the right lady!
Date people from Half Moon Bay, United States. Like many, I never thought I'd be looking for anyone else but sometimes life doesn't work out the way you want. I was very fortunate to have been married to a great person for a long time but she passed away last year.
My 2 boys (both college graduates) are most important to me and make me so proud of the terrific young men they've become. I'm also fortunate to have a loving supportive family as well as many great friends who care about me and my boys.
I'm very sensitive about others feelings, a good read of people's character and am a romantic at heart. While this may sound a little corny, I'm kind of old fashioned in my values and manners.
I consider myself pretty successful. Its great to be able to say I love what I do. My job is very creative and gives me tremendous satisfaction in helping people.
My little collie, Daisy, is the new love in my life and she keeps me quite busy with her tremendous amount of energy and affection. So for anyone interested in me, she is going to be formidable competition and she doesn't like to share her man!
I'm very funny, sarcastic and quick witted both in person and in writing. I always seem to find the amusing side to things. I also don't take myself too seriously and am not afraid to make fun of myself. But most important, I'm very comfortable with who I am and for the most part very happy with my life. That's a nice thing to be able to say about oneself.
Have to be honest in that I HATE cooking and get stressed out when making more than one thing. The standing joke in my family is I make "black" food and we are not talking ethnic. You'll always find me a most appreciative customer in that I'm grateful for almost anything put in front of me. But on the positive side I actually enjoy cleaning up and load a neat dishwasher. This "gift" makes me a sought after guest.
But afer 1 year of cooking for myself I haven't burnt my house down yet. I've certainly come close a few times by forgetting to turn off the burner and oven overnight. My real problem is that I'm ADD in the kitchen in that I'm impatient and hate reading directions. Luckily I still have a cast iron stomach so I can pretty much eat anything and don't mind eating the same thing for a few days. I have also discovered that a few glasses of wine or bloody mary's helps the process.
I'm looking for someone who is smart, funny, beautiful who will challenge me and even argue with me as well as obviously care about me and can COOK.
Meet men and women from United States. Would love a travel partner on my wildlife adventures mostly in national forests and parks if you can make it but not necessary.we can just be here in Half Moon as well or where you are or where we want to be.Love to laugh and entertain with my sea stories and history of the coast.
Many years ago I flew Seaknight helicopters with the Marine Corps in Nam. One day the bad guys got lucky and I put her down harder than she was designed(crash) and ended what was to be a great career. Then a couple years in VA Palo Alto with the finest spinal chord doctors in the world and now I've got my dancin shoes back on and trekkin again...
For many years I've been a commercial fisherman along the lower 48 for salmon/ tuna and crab...then in Alaska for King Crab/ Pollock/True cod in Dutch Harbor/ Bering Sea Alaska...exciting life to say the least...and humbling...
Then built a processing plant here in Half Moon for Lox smoked salmon with over 400 of fine dining houses and hotels all over the bay area...sold that biz...Retired except my first love photography biz...
Now I shoot the wolf project in the spring and grizzly brown bears in the fall for the research scientists in Yellowstone then go wandering around the 7 western states shooting agriculture harvests/wildlife for various folks that appreciate that sort of thing. After all very lucky and available...
One woman kind of guy.
Being one of the ' last of the full grown men ' I show all emotions in public or not...so at the movies ya might want to sit some where else when the sad or scary parts come if ya want...yeah ok I blubber at the gushy parts...
All said I'm an officer and a gentleman, wild fisherman, pretty nice dude, and raucous fun...I love life to say the least and make funnies out of everything...ok rattled on enough about me...what about you if this doesn't sound to crazy drop me a line.I am most respectful and very gentle....Been alone for a very long time and don't like it much..open all doors for me lady and say yes mam / sir no matter what age...my mama taught me right and the Corps drove it home...if any of that bothers you we'll make it right...it's all about us
Because of living a somewhat wilderness life I camp a lot..hope you would like that on occasion as well...it's not roughing it though...it's living with ma nature on a grand scale...I think I lived in Yellowstone in a former life and it's good to be back...I clean up well and don't look to bad in a coat and tie for those times when we want to step out...You will be safe and we'll learn some fun stuff...real guy lookin for a real woman...that's what it's all about
Date a soulmate from Half Moon Bay, United States. Some of my interests are: Bicycling, sailing, tennis, dining out, movies and home improvement.
I am honest, truthful, adventurous, playful, loving, caring and affectionate.
I've been divorced for some time now and I am not looking for a fling.
I am looking for a woman with the same qualities I have. Down to earth and easy going.
I know your out there. Lets walk down the road of life together.
Meet men and women from United States. I have mostly lived near the ocean, in Half Moon Bay for last 20 years. I found this Edgar Allan Poe poem, Annabel Lee, about this guy who falls for a local lovely, found her in a harbor town. It turns out there is an alternate ending to the poem, written for the rest of us::
Fantasia for Annabel Lee
“. . .For the moon never beams,
without bringing me dreams
Haunting past all disbelief
And the stars never rise,
But I feel her bright eyes,
In this kingdom by the sea.
And neither Angels above,
Nor Demons below
Would ever dissever from me
The light in her eyes,
My soul from her soul,
In this kingdom by the sea.
Far from the lee shore
Carried in trade winds
Tolling their way to me
Her Song in the rigging,
Heard in a lifetime
Searching, for Annabelle Lee.
Enough Poe. Longer version: I have lived the last 20 years in Half Moon Bay / El Granada Highlands. Past lives included two years on a ship, 5 years in the great northwest / Oregon, and 10 years in Brazil. Work in prior years included economic development for Native American projects with Ford Foundation money. Most recently, I have been commuting the SF Bay and beyond, starting and running small business lending departments for commercial banks, currently negotiating start- up number three.
Never will admit it, but most of my world has been defined by work -time, places, people. I am now seeking to mend the errors of my ways, and add a new dimension to my life. Someone new? Long awaited, never forgotten, something we all live for (Tennessee Williams?) My interests described in Profile below are close to yours? However we probably would agree that interests and pursuits change, and are less important that the one, two, perhaps three people in our lives who love, admire, and support us. And all those we love in return. The world needs more Will and Ariel Durants. What else. When work winds down, my new plan includes travel. Lots to choose from, maybe that two masted schooner for sale in the harbor below. Metaphor, maybe not.. Total crew of two. You going to be around?
Date a man from United States. I'm happiest when I'm learning something new. I believe that problems are there to be solved, rather than fretted over. I love my kids, grandkids and dog. I enjoy trying new things. Snow skiing and scuba diving are also high on my list.
I'm comfortable with friends, with strangers and alone. I've been told that I clean up very well and am "suitably charming" when the occasion demands. I'm good to take to a black tie event, or to the beach.
I'd like to find someone down to earth, well-adjusted and comfortable in her own skin and being. I find intellect in others very appealing. I especially appreciate people who can carry on an intelligent conversation on a variety of topics. If I'm able to learn new things and have new experiences with you, I'd really enjoy that.
And finally, I believe that how we treat other people is not a reflection of who they are, but rather who we are.
Meet someone special from United States. I look forward to spending time with a woman who is adventuresome, fun and upbeat, who is spontaneous and one who will in time, become my best friend. Relationships are very important to me. My interests are many and varied. I enjoy good music from jazz to classical, good books, the theatre, good restaurants, museums, the great artists and stunning sunsets. I live by the ocean where the scene changes daily. For me, life is never dull. I travel frequently and enjoy photography, fly fishing, museums and exhibits, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people. I also guide fly fishermen or women on one of the many beautiful rivers in Oregon in the summer and fall.
I cook and host parties frequently, especially on July 4th when the fireworks appear in front of my deck. Intimate dinners are close to the top my fun list as are dinners and the theatre in San Francisco or a day watching the Giants play baseball. My nature is to be active, engaging and sometimes generous to a fault. I have an abiding respect for people of integrity and I love true characters. I know we travel down this road only once and believe we should make the most of every opportunity for we shall not make this journey again. There is after all, an expiration date. I believe in strong family ties, trusting relationships and understand that life is not always easy. I also believe that life is good when we allow it to be. I have lived by the ocean all my life and am proud of my contributions to my community.
Sharing experiences is important and rewarding to me. Of course the chemistry has to be right and one would know that early on. To say that my group of friends is eclectic is an understatement. I especially find characters fascinating and fun to be around. I believe creative people are a special gift to society. While many people own cameras, few are really good photographers, with notable exceptions. I know artists who never took a lesson who produce some truly remarkable work. I think that relationships travel on a parallel plane. When relationships work, positive energy flows and that is the essence of meaningful companionship.
I enjoy movies and dinner on weekends. Otherwise I might be out taking photographs, tending a garden full of roses bushes, watching a ball game, listening to Jazz the Bach next to the ocean or off trekking through Golden Gate Park or Muir Woods.
My favorite contemporary authors are: Ken Follett, Nelson DeMille, Richard North Patterson, Patrick O’Brien, Frank Herbert, James Michner and W.E. B. Griffin, Steinbeck, Hemmingway and a dozen others. My three current favorite books are Michner’s The Source and Follett’s Pillars of the Earth and World Without End.
Travel, both domestic and foreign is something I look forward to each year. It is always more fun with companion, do you agree? Finally, I view each day as a gift and try to glean as much enjoyment from it as humanly possible. So, if we share common interests, please let me know and we can discuss it over a cup of coffee.
Date someone special from Half Moon Bay, United States. I am an incurable romantic, a life long political activist, an attorney who has spent my career in public/non-profit service. I was inspired by John and Bobby Kennedy and served in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia between college and law school. I ran and was elected as a County Commissioner and ran and lost for Congress. Inspite of some disappointment I remain a strong supporter of President Obama and will work hard for his reelection.
I have been married and divorced but am close with my former wife as we are the proud parents of one son who has a fine wife and they have blessed us with two incredible granddaughters. I am about to retire at least from full time work and hope to spend more time with them. They live near Ft. Lauderdale in Florida.
I love to read and walk, read and walk and I worship the sun so why do I live in Half Moon Bay?. Well I am 10 minutes from the ocean and when it is sunny and beautiful here (it is sometimes) it is a terrific place to live. I go to San Francisco often and also like to return to Pacific Grove and Santa Barbara - both places where I once lived - frequently. I love museums, music, movies and dining. I am open to new adventures and have purposely avoided making commitments as I near retirement as I want to unwind and be spontaneous. I will no doubt however become an active volunteer, as I always have, for good causes helping those not as fortunate as I am.
I have been working and hermiting for the most part for the last several years. But I am about to retire and want a partner to explore the world with.
I seek a women who has a great sense of humor, is full of life, upbeat, engaged in making the world a better place, wants to help others and be politically active. I am excited at the thought of finding a friend, lover and perhaps eventual life time partner for the rest of the journey. I "have miles to go before I sleep" and seek a travel companion.
Meet someone special from California, United States. I have lived on the coast for over 35 years and love the fresh air and the open spaces. Love to look at the mountains and to walk on the beach. I am looking for a compatible woman for a long term relationship (who knows how long that is).
As much as I love the coast, I do like to get away and enjoy other areas like Mendocino, Lake Tahoe, the wine country and the Carmel Valley.
However, I do like to spend time at home doing home improvement projects or sitting by the fireplace with a good book and a great bottle of wine.
I love honesty and sincerity. A woman who enjoys cuddling by the fireplace and who likes to take romantic walks on the beach. A woman who likes to be active, has a love for family and who has a high priority for the man she loves. A woman who is aware of her surroundings and of the world we live in. Laughing and enjoying life is a priority. Knows that we are just passing through this wonderful thing we call life and enjoying the opportunities it brings us.
