Recently I've been interested in bouldering in the mountains, backpacking in the wilderness (High Sierra Trail in a few weeks!), riding/fixing my motorcycle (let's be honest, it's mostly fixing), attending music festival (e.g. Lightning in a Bottle), and coming soon: surfing and photography. Currently (and for the next 2-3 years), I'm pursuing my PhD in Engineering at UCSB. As of now, my goal is to become tenured faculty at a major university, and of course, end up at Santa Barbara in the latter years of my life. During work breaks, I enjoy reading about politics, watching TedTalks, and tinkering in the lab.
I like the sound of ceiling fans at night, going to both big (Muse) and small (@ Soho) concerts, my "job" as a graduate student, people who make me laugh, and interesting cheeses.
