Date a man from California, United States. NO regrets, just lessons learned, both in life and the kitchen! My love 4 the ocean is where my soul reconnects with reality. The kitchen is my other sanctuary where I am able 2 artistically create culinary works of edible art!
I currently live in Santa Barbara, CA but am planning 2 move 2 Capitola in August, job dependent ....let's see what the possibilities are!
Presently I work full time between (2) Emergency Depts., the Critical Care Unit and a Med Surg Unit; as a Patient Care Technician (PCT II/EMT-D). I am an independent EMT 4 Hire working on movie sets and other events. I worked for 4 years part-time 4 an ambulance company; I served for 8 yrs in the fire service starting out as paid-call moving into a seasonal position then a career position. Both distance and an injury on the job forced me 2 change careers; I was medically retired due 2 the injury. Now I am pursuing a degree in Emergency Management and nursing.
I've worked in the Hospitality field as a resident Innkeeper and breakfast chef 4 a 4 diamond Bed and Breakfast and gave 8 years 2 Amtrak, working at over 17 stations between San Diego and Vancouver, BC. I served as a Naval Reservist for 4 years which was an incredible learning experience.
I enjoy doing volunteer work which is a huge part of my life. The Surfrider Foundation, SB County Vintners' Assn., the SB Chapter of the American Red Cross, the SB County Medical Reserves Corp., and Aeromedicos, flying 2 Baja once a month 8 months out of the year 2 open a medical clinic.
My love of cooking was a staple at the firehouse table, we loved to cook! Our firefighters’ association did a lot of cooking based fund raising; breakfasts, dinners and BBQ’s. I now cook 4 a hobby and am putting together The 343; A Firehouse Cookbook.
I NEVER enjoyed the "Institutional Style Chef". Cooking 4 friends and family is what I am made 4. Cooking tragedies; Using salt instead of sugar in a large batch of homemade pancakes 4 the annual pancake breakfast at the firehouse 13 years ago. It was mislabeled! Taste everything!
I have had many life experiences some incredible and some very difficult. I take everything in stride; keeping my positive attitude and outlook at life in general. I have a handful of people that I consider true friends and numerous people I consider acquaintances. I get along well with most; either you love me or you can't stand me. My personality is somewhat quirky and overzealous at times.
With my schedule, I really haven't had a lot of time 2 give 2 relationships, BUT I am open 2 change. There is NOTHING I wouldn't do 4 a friend; day or night. I look 4 those who have a fire within, a passion 4 what life has 2 offer, people that can enjoy life WITHOUT games or manipulations! I look 4 QUALITY friends who hold things like family, integrity, loyalty, and commitment as their TOP priorities. HAVE TO LOVE adventure, spontaneous trips and have patience; I'm VERY outgoing and a bit crazy.
Favorite things 2 cook....Breakfast Meals, Grilling, BBQing, Italian dishes; ANYTHING! Keep it real! Never the cook the same thing twice. Keep 'em guessing. Make EVERY meal an original!
I want someone who will accept me 4 me. Has a love of life and passion 4 life and all that is offered.. Honest 2 urself as well as 2 me. Loyalty is huge! Be honest and trustworthy cause without trust and open communication you could end up with nothing. One other VERY important thing is 2 NEVER EVER LIE 2 that special someone. Make a mistake OWN the mistake - face what you must BUT DO NOT Lie 2 them, EVER! Trust is like credit, easy 2 get but once you damage it it can be impossible 2 regain.
Meet people from California, United States. Originally from Connecticut, the US Air Force thought it best I move to Sacramento. I’ve always enjoyed traveling, but after a few tours to Saudi Arabia, I decided there had to be a better way to see the world. After the military, my career sent me to Santa Barbara. I like many found it impossible to leave. There is really nowhere I would rather live. I’ve worked in Goleta for the past twelve years.
I work 12 hours days and have been focused primarily on my career. I’ve finally reached a point where I’m ready to enjoy some long weekends. I’m a trustworthy guy. I’m loyal, friendly, and honest; I’m searching for someone with the same principles and values. This is a small town, and it seems like I know everyone, but I hold only a handful of people close. Since I basically started over when I move here in 2000, I’ve chosen my friends wisely.
I enjoy camping (okay motor home camping), dining out, movies, cooking, riding motorcycles, and playing golf. I’m an occasional social drinker. I don’t and have never used any drugs, and I’m not interested in anyone who is currently. I have never smoked cigarettes, but like an accessional cigar with the right company. I enjoy a night out as much as anyone, but if you want to party at the Kitty 5 nights a week, I'm not right for you.
I’m interested finding a great match and being involved in a positive relationship.
If I don't email you back, please don't be offended. Some of mine aren't returned either. :)
Date single man from California, United States. I fluctuate between the introverted and extroverted. I'm happy to spend days by myself, but also need to connect with the people in my life and beyond. I'm hoping to meet someone who is interested in getting out and experiencing life.
Meet a woman from California, United States. For the guys who don't want to read through this, here is your take-away*:
* You must be passionate about more than cars
* Dry & silly sense of humor is a deal-breaker (do you like SNL?)
* Bonus if you're athletic
* Give me time and space because I am creative
I like chemistry and a meeting of the minds. I have a lot of interests that I am passionate about and I hope that you do too. I want to hear about what you're passionate about, and will give you the space to do what you love. I need that space too.
I choose friends with whom I feel comfortable around enough to be weird and funny and sarcastic. I enjoy walking, chatting and going out to eat or drink wine and talk about life and real things that matter. I like to be real and simple and just be me. I don't enjoy drama or fighting of any sort, though I do love a good banter.
I was a former athlete and now I have found running to be a great source of stress relief and time for thinking or just blasting music to escape. I run during my lunch hour at the beach about 3 times a week, and try to get in a circuit over the weekend.
I am creative and like to do things with my hands. I have a kiln for ceramics, and I am always in the middle of some home improvement project that I can (for the most part) do myself.
* If you're interested, don't wink, as I probably won't wink back. Send an email and say something specific about me so I know you didn't copy & paste.
