I've travelled the world, but not just the mandatory "year after graduating college" trip. I have built a house by hand. I majored in theology and philosophy - the most beautiful and useless disciplines imaginable. I started and run a successful business along with my ex with nothing but the money we got from selling our car. I have a long list of places to go and to go back to.
I read a great deal. I have a motor mouth sometimes, and it gets me into trouble once in a while, if I'm honest. I can cook about 10 things really well, and my eggs benedict are legendary (I actually have a menu printed on my fridge for when I'm hosting a brunch).
Things you can be sure of:
1. I can change a tire if it needs to be done. I can also put on a pair of french cuffs and take you to the opera. Then, if we blow a tire on the way home, we're not stuck!
2. I take care of myself. Between the sports I play, the gym, and running, I'm doing something most days to live a healthy lifestyle. I do balance that with the odd day of watching an entire season of Modern Family or Arrested Development.
3. If I'm making a meal for you, it likely won't be grilled cheese sandwiches. I can make lobster ravioli by hand, but I can barely boil an egg. Paradox? Mystery? You be the judge...
I have three boys that I get half of the time. They're smaller, cooler, more awesome versions of me.

Meet single man from United States. Ok, so I guess this is what the dating world had come to, 75% online beauty contest and 25% college entrance essay questions ;). Well, so be it.
Much like all of the other profiles that you have read, I am a fantabulously amazing person...really, just ask me (I'm a tad bit sarcastic). I won't bore you to tears with the stories of how many children / puppies I have saved from burning buildings (jk), but will focus on how I live each day. I believe that it is important to live your day-to-day life in way that truly reflects your beliefs and values (while still having fun, of course). So I open doors and say bless you to strangers (not necessarily at the same time, unless they are sneezing while they are walking into a building). I pick up other dogs poop at the dog park (not with bare hands, that would be nasty). I hold the elevator door for people (which always seems to surprise people that someone would do that). I try to be a considerate person (not so much for inconsiderate, oblivious, or self-absorbed people, which there are plenty).
But don't confuse these actions with not being strong. I'm a man of strong convictions, opinions, self-confidence, and determination. I am open to new ideas and opposing viewpoints (so long as you can make a good case for them). Friends tend to seek me out for advice because they know that they will get an honest remark and I tend have fairly keen insight ( I've made a lot of mistakes, so now I know what not to do ;) )
By bustin' my butt, treating people right, taking some chances, and a pinch of good fortune; I have achieved a nice level of success in my career. I really enjoy what I do and the people with whom I have been fortunate to collaborate. In a past career, I was a personal trainer for 3 years. So I like to keep in shape and take good care of myself. Occasional indulgences are necessary though. We all need a little reward....right ;)

The energetic awareness thing is a recent development. A few years ago, it just turned itself on like a light switch, off to on -- perhaps I was ripe from years of mediating but who knows. Nature became alive. I could feel my energy centers and open and close them at will. I think I'm kind of an empath -- which can be way cool and at other times problematic.
Beyond the spiritual and energetic, I'm a pretty ordinary guy. More:

HEALTH CONSCIOUS -- I know what my body prefers and still often fall for comfort food. I've done a few raw food retreats; primarily shop at Whole Foods; rarely drink alcohol except for special occasions with friends.
SPORTS -- enjoy playing most sports, love being in the game and especially on a team, although not particularly good at any of them.

I am originally from Seattle and have been in San Diego since 96 when the Navy stationed me here for my last tour (Naval Officer aboard Destroyers at sea for 5 of my 8 years in service). I have travelled extensively through Asia, the South Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa (including being stationed in Japan for 3 years and Hawaii for 2), but nothing beats Southern California and this is my home. On an educational level, I have a BA in Economics from the University of Washington and an MA in International Relations from the University of San Diego. On a personal level I am a PADI Diver and usually try and dive at least once a year, typically Hawaii, the Caribbean or Mexico. I do love Baja Mexico, Hawaii and Vegas (will substitute New Orleans) and am there at least once a year. Currently I am a Director for Petco Animal Supplies and l love my company and am very passionate about my work. It is extremely satisfying to promote the human animal bond as part of my everyday. I report to the CIO, am responsible for large technology projects and my work does require travel to India 2 to 3 times a year. I am divorced with no kids, but I do have 2 dogs that I treat like kids (kind of :)). I am very domestic and believe it or not love to cook and garden. I have a beautiful beach close home that I truly enjoy spending quality time in. If you like fresh flowers, sea breezes, candles, and the smell of good food in a warm kitchen over a bottle of wine, you just hit the LOTTO. BTW, that is my idea of a great date. Snuggling on the couch afterwards of course! :)
I am also very diverse and enjoy way too much to capture it all here. Plus there is so much to do in San Diego, the city/county makes it easy to always be engaged in something interesting and fun. The summer usually finds me at Petco Park with the Padres, the Del Mar Racetrack (I love the horses) and the beach (I like Solana Beach). Oh not to forget the North County Fair! Nothing like a foot long corn dog covered in mustard followed by the Ferris Wheel! :) In the Fall I am a big Chargers fan and love drives up the coast to Newport to shop PCH. I cardio 5 days a week, swim or yoga on the weekends and fit in long walks with my dogs. I do love the Ashtanga Yoga Center in Encinitas if there are any yogis out there! My first and foremost passion is my family. We're a pretty large bunch, I have 10 brothers and sisters (I am the baby :-)) and too many nieces and nephews to count. In 2011, I lost over 65 lbs and have been a gym fanatic ever since, going at least 3-4 times a week. I have recently become addicted to racquetball!
