Question is, how do i do that without sounding like im either full of myself, or short selling myself to the point you stop reading and move on? I guess ill just have to wing it. lol. I live in Elk Grove and have most of my life. I have been divorced for 13 years now. I have had relationships since then, but none that gave me that "Happily ever-after" that we are all looking for. I have been out on a date or two since my last relationship, but have pretty much been flying solo for the last three years. Im tired of it. So after puting it off for a while i decided to try the online thing. Im pretty outgoing once i get to know you. I enjoy getting out and trying new things. I'm just as comfortable dressing up and going out as I am cuddling up on the couch and watching a movie. I was raised to mind my manners and always treat a woman like a lady, and I utilize those lessons. At the same time I'm sarcastic as hell, and love to make people laugh. Im patient, and always tend to look on the brighter side of any situation. Familly and true freinds are very important to me. As is my country. Im a patriot. If you dont love this country and stand up for the brave men and woman serving, you might as well stop reading now. Now there are a few things i have to point out about me. I am a NASCAR fanatic! (GO JR!) I never miss a race, and i have reserved seats for the race in Sonoma every year. I love music. Although i listen to a very broad range of music (Rock, pop, clasical, RB, hip hop, oldies etc.) i love COUNTRY. Its a passion of mine. I sing out loud. A LOT! lol. I make it out to a concert at least a couple times a year. I hate cooking. I do cook from time to time, and i have a recipie or two i enjoy, but i dont like cooking for just me. Just seems like a waste of time. Maybe id feel different if i was cooking with or for someone else. Last but not least, i know who i am, but that doesnt mean im set in my ways and wont try new things. As a matter of fact, I enjoy it. Date a soulmate from Elk Grove, United States. Hello, not really looking for that match. More looking to expand on my circle of friends. My views are too varried for most. I'll give a rundown on the major points. If you can relate (and be honest with yourself) then maybe we can talk.
What I consider some of the major issues of our time-----
Marriage - If people insist that it's only for a man and a woman, because of religious reasons, then all state and federal laws and rules involved need to be deleted from the books. Seperation of church and state. Period. If people insist on getting tax breaks, or any state or federal benifits, then the religious aspect needs to be removed and all people of consentual age can be married. man to man, woman to man, woman to woman. Period. Again, seperation of church and state. Love is not a choice.
Abortion - If I were a woman, and pregnant, I would give birth. Having said that, each woman ultimately has the right to make that choice for themselves. It's not a choice I would ever be willing to take away from them. I wont look down on someone that chooses to have one.
Socialism - Democratic - republican - I'm all over the place. I believe in helping those people who are unable, or even just unwilling, to help themselves. The vast majority of people in our nation choose to work hard, they choose to be better and they strive to leave the world better off for thier descendants. Yes, some people will abuse the generousity of a society that gives back to it's people. Who cares. Teach the people that matter to you to work hard and be caring, and give to those who dont or cant.
Guns - All for them. Every person of sound mind and not having been convicted of a violent crime, or use of a weapon during the commision of a crime, should be able to carry a concealed weapon on their persons for the safety and well being of themselves and those they love.
Education - We've almost got it. Everyone that wants a higher education should have the chance to have one. Preferably without going into debt for 10 years. I would like all students that graduate from highschool, with a C or better average, have the ability to go to a 4 year college tuition free. As long as attendance and grades in higher education remain above a C average. Yes, I'm willing to pay more taxes to improve the education of our nations children. If a student doesnt want to go to college, but would rather do a vocational school, then the nation should cover that cost as well.
The environment - Global warming. I'm not sure if it's real or not. To me it doesnt matter. We should always try to keep as many polutants as possible from being released into our world. Cleaner is better, no matter how you look at it. I dont want our children, in another thousand years, to not be able to enjoy nature as I do today.
Taxes - I can never decide on this. part of me says a straight flat tax is whats needed. part of me says, the more you make, the more you should pay in taxes. There is no easy solution, but it strikes me as off to read about billion dollar companies paying 1-3% of total revenue in taxes, when the middle class pays 25-30%. I cant predict how the economy would turn if implimented.
