Date a man from United States. Let's see ... where do I start?
I had an interesting idea as to how to approach this. In order to come up with a fair description of myself, I asked a bunch of friends to each list a few words to describe me. There were a lot of duplicates, but here’s what they came up with; Charming, Forthright, Funny, Sincere, Intuitive, Generous, Ethical, Loyal, Well-rounded, Complex, Intense, Friend.
I guess that’s me!
I’m in a great position right now, my life has gone through a lot of positive changes in the past year and everything seems to be moving in the right direction (well, not *everything*, life always tends to through us a few challenges...). The only thing missing is that certain someone I can share it with, someone who’ll compliment my life and allow me to do the same for her. I am very open to a serious relationship, but not “desperate” to get into one.
I do have an engineering background and am fairly successful in business. I am not the sort of guy to lay around in board shorts and a ratty t-shirt all the time. I am always well groomed and often well-dressed. Unlike most guys, I hardly EVER watch sports on TV.
I am very interested in personal growth in various aspects of mind, body, and spirit. I work out pretty regularly. I can watch lectures and read about Economics, Astronomy, and Psychology (brain candy is a good thing) but I also love movies (action, comedy, documentaries, etc.). I watch very few TV shows, but my favorites are Modern Family, Mad Men, Californication, Walking Dead, and Dexter. I also tend to act like a total goofball around my niece and nephew. So if your looking for someone to laugh with, ask how your day went, and be able to count on to be there when I say I will, that's the kind of guy I am.

One more thing ... Ladies, I understand that most of your are BOMBARDED with messages from guys! Most guys seem to blast out messages that read like "form letters" and send them out in batches to many women at once. So I know your inbox can get quite full. I tend to take another approach. I usually send out (initiate) very few connections, simply because the chances of a reply are SO low (again, because it's hard to rise above the TONS of email that all of you ladies get). So ... I tend to respond when a woman contacts me first. It just seems more logical that way. Trust me, I am very chivalrous and very much the charming gentleman who can take the lead when it comes to dating, but in a situation such as Match.com, I am really counting on a woman to make first contact. (Plus, I must admit, it is quite disillusioning to send out 20 messages over the period of a week and get NO responses back. That's a bit of a challenge for anyone's self confidence!)
So, the long and short of all of this is ..... If you find me interesting .... just send me a note. Say hello. I'll be happy to take it from there. I know that some women may not be all that comfortable making the "first move" (and attractive women rarely have to ... because guys are relentlessly hitting on them so much! LOL), but give it a try. We may be able to share something wonderful as a result of just that small effort.

First off - I have to let you know that I'm not a San Diego native - I grew up in the midwest actually; the reason I mention this is that I believe that it helped shaped who I am - such as my character traits and outlook on life.
My free time seems to be spent on a few different things - enjoying the company of friends, usually with good music and wine, the occasional concert, enjoying the outdoors - hiking somewhere scenic and kayaking La Jolla cove are two favs, or just kickin' back at home finishing off some household project, grabbing an acoustic guitar, or polishing off a few chapters of the latest book I'm reading.
I always get some snowboard time in at Mammoth and/or Tahoe every winter, but getting some more travel in during the rest of the year is at the top of my wishlist.
I believe in taking care of oneself, and work out daily. I indulge on occasion, but definitely believe in keeping in shape. Always love to learn new things - especially from others, and exploring new places - especially with the right company.
I believe in treating others as you'd want to be treated. My friends would describe me as helpful, smart, handy, loyal, trustworthy, knowledgeable, and centered. I have certain expectations of myself to have certain guy skills - be able to fix things around the house, troubleshoot a car when it's not working, know the way around in the outdoors, etc.
I'm looking for someone who knows how to enjoy things, while also planning a bit for tomorrow, is self-confident, and can take what life throws at us in stride. I also think that a kind heart and a great personality are far more captivating than almost anything else.
I spent the high school years in the Los Angeles area, came to San Diego for college and have been here ever since - I'm glad to have discovered this town and won't be leaving anytime soon!
Professionally, I'm a Project Manager for a Research lab; I graduated with an engineering degree from UC San Diego and picked up a Master's in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School along the way. I enjoy what I do - not the perfect job, but close enough - especially since it lets me live comfortably in San Diego.
Having been in the work world for awhile now, I've achieved pretty much all I've set out to do and am looking for someone who wants to share life together.

Me.... I am still a dad and I take that privilege and responsibility very seriously, which means I have to be flexible on occasion. Are you? I have spent the better part of my adult life raising my kids and now that they are almost all gone I am looking for someone to share the latter half with. I was born and raised in a military family and am the oldest of three and have a great relationship with my family.
I work hard, and will admit sometimes too hard, but I play even harder. That said I work to live not live to work. I have found over the years though that I'm not a very good spectator. If I have the time, I would rather be on my bike, playing volleyball, skiing, on a golf course, or you name it rather than sitting and watching others play. That said I do enjoy the social aspect of being a spectator; just need my kinda time I guess. Words that describe me... Ok, allow me to start by saying I actually smile a lot more than my primary photo shows. The system for some reason won't allow me to switch primary and secondary photos. Let's just say it wasn't easy setting the timer then running to pose' before the camara. Not only trying to center myself but also hoping the neighbors don't notice this idiot outside taking pictures of himself. They say timing's everything. Lol. Sounds like a scene from Seinfeld. Right?
Being a guy originally from L.A. who's spent many a summers in the south I'd like to think of myself as a city kid with Alabama roots. A gentlemen with a bit of an edge. I am solid in my career (15 years and counting) and love what I do). So I work hard and play hard. Now I'd like to check that "Box" labeled relationship... I'm not a player, just a guy who happens to be single and enjoying life...drama free.
I like to balance things out. From a night out on the town, to being in a foreign country in search of good food and live music. Not to mention just relaxing at home taking on the challenge of a new recipe with someone special.
Besides traveling (so far France, Spain and Brazil), my hobbies range from Camping in the Sierras to snow boarding. Recently I completed a 30 day solo road trip across the U.S.. Just something I always wanted to do.

Oh, did I mention Salsa. With Salsa I like the relationship between man and woman. The Woman trusting in his spontaneous choreography. Dancing in sync... However, if the man lacks the confidence or skill, it's a short night on the dance floor and it's back to the sideline nursing a rum and coke at the bar. LOL. Sound familiar? Hummm, how do I describe the woman that I'd like to meet? Not sure. I'm pretty open when it comes to answering that question... She has to be someone that also lives a drama free life style, adventurous and flexible enough to travel with.
I have a very unique schedule which allows me freedom to come and go, to travel the world and to live a drama free lifestyle. I'm new to this site and I admit I'm curious. I'd like to meet a woman who's at a point in her life where she can express her likes and dislikes openly. She's had her fair share of knuckleheads and is now looking for a man that will treat her right.
As I mentioned originally I'm from Los Angeles and often return to visit my 'hometown'. I'm open to meeting in either city or anywhere in between the two....
