As the oldest of four, and the only male figure in my siblings lives, I often play many roles. From confidant to warden, my job seems to rapidly change with the blink of an eye. In normal life, I do my best to walk the fine line between being a confident boy and a humble man. I believe chivalry and romance walk hand in hand. I am an Altruistic person by nature. Like most, I'm searching for someone to covet that appreciates me for all my attributes as well as my flaws.
I'm looking for a "down to earth" girl, maybe a little crass and willing to get her hands dirty when the time is right. She should have an awesome sense of humor, and not take herself too seriously. She should be passionate about the things in her life and the person she is with. One that loves the outdoors and has some similar interests to mine (i.e. camping, hiking, snowboarding, playing pool, shooting guns, going to concerts, food, museums, aquariums, ect. Maybe even some new interests I have yet to discover?). One with an opinion, that can also express it. When I ask what you would like for dinner, it's because I'm honestly interested in you, your preferences and tastes. Not because I'd like to hear my opinion recycled back to me. Food speaks to my soul and hopefully yours! Music is a very important matter to me as well, I feel our playlists should be semi compatible. Although I'm not afraid of growth. You should like to cuddle, as I do. Yes, being physically attracted is also important, but I do feel it's only one side of the coin. In my opinion, it only sets the stage and feeds the fire for true attraction, which is to the mind. I'm not attracted to any one specific body type, my tastes vary. How you carry yourself is important. This doesn't mean you have to be outwardly confident, only confident in who you are. So lets talk! I don't bite (unless you ask!), and the only thing you have to loose is the opportunity to know a genuine person.

I’ll do my best…..I’m originally from Salem, Oregon, and have lived in the South bay for over 10 years now. (although I don’t believe I’d ever consider myself a local). I'm a guy's guy...I like watching sports , playing sports, being active and outdoors. When I drink, I drink whiskey or beer....not wine (not that there's anything wrong with that of course). I enjoy camping, skiing, hiking, fishing (although there isn't any in the bay area), college/NFL football (Go Beavers!), and my weekly poker game with friends. I'm happy to stay in and watch a movie too though, as long as it isn't a romantic comedy (I am open to negotiation here though). I'd be thrilled to find a woman I could share similar interests with, although maybe not all of them, that might be a bit weird :)
That said, I have two real passions in life that have taken precedence of late: raising my 15 month old daughter, and my career as a biology/physiology teacher at a local High School..... I’d describe myself as extremely laid back, patient person who’s not particularly shy, but reserved until comfortable in any given situation.
My siblings and I were raised in a loving home with wonderful parents who taught us the difference between right and wrong, how to solve problems/disagreements without yelling and saying hurtful things. They modeled selflessness, responsibility, and respect at all times. These qualities seem to be lost in society these days (particularly among men), but this is what I'm looking for in a partner. Based on my experience, one's family and upbringing speak volumes in this regard.
Ideally I'd also be interested in meeting someone who has a calm, yet fun personality, a sense of humor, is reasonably intelligent, kind, and honest. I know nobody's perfect, but if you're high strung, controlling, irritable, lazy, dishonest, or bat sh*t crazy, I'm out.....and oh yeah, and if it takes you less than an hour to get ready to go somewhere that's a big plus!
