Date people from United States. I consider myself fun, outgoing, confident and very down to earth. I am a very loyal and honest person as well. Also very sarcastic and enjoy life. I grew up in the midwest and have lived in Arizona and California for the last 15 years. I am now living full time in Brentwood, CA. I am very active and I like working out indoors and outdoors, dining out, concerts, hiking and attending sporting events. I am also very well travelled around the world and still enjoy travelling inside and outside the country. I am very relaxed and laid back and spend most of my time working out, working on my businesses, reading books, watching movies, and travelling. Im very positive and easy going. I always like meeting new people and taking things slow. I like to enjoy life and have fun.
I am a vibrant person. The things that make me smile in life are the things that are the simplest. The person I am looking ofr is someone who enjoys a good comedy, someone I can laugh with, someone I can play with. Someone who likes sports and physical activities and shares the same passion for life and all its beauty that I do.
The most important things to me are friends and family.
Meet someone special from Brentwood, United States. Single Asian Man seeking... (holy cow, this sounds like some dorky personal ad!)
Take 2!
Thumper is the chunky bunny in the movie Bambi. But, some of my friends call me that not because of my zodiac sign is the rabbit, but because of an incident back in college. As usual, I was nodding off during a class. Then all of a sudden, my head whacked the desk hard making a very loud "thump" sound -_-;; Since then...
Despite that little incident, I am usually not that goofy.
Well, there was another time... A few years ago, some important overseas clients visited my work. We took them to House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. There, I walked right into a window, head first. This happened in the lounge area, front of everyone. Fortunately, the battle between the window and my head ended up in a draw. All these head thumping cannot be good.
But, I digress. Anyhow, I am quiet and reserved. However, once I become close to someone, I do open up considerably.
I am pretty down to earth and I enjoy the simple things in life. I am grateful for my family and friends. Family, friends and food, what more can a guy ask for.
I am a strong proponent of the Golden Rule, "do to others what you would have them do to you."
I have been blessed with kind, sincere, genuine, and carrying people who have loved me throughout my life.
I hope I have been a good family member and good friend to them as well.
My apologies if I have not responded to your winks. I've heard that some winks are auto generated by the system. Thus, if you find anything interesting here, please drop me a line rather than send me a wink. You can contact thumpersj using a sizzling email system. Whether yay or nay, I will respond to your e-mails with my appreciation. And I respectfully request your kind reply upon receipt of my communication. It is quite difficult to discern between an inactive member and a disinterested member.
I look forward to communicating with you!
Date people from Brentwood, United States. Easy going guy looking for an attractive, affectionate woman to start over with. A good kisser, beautiful skin, great hair, and very caring would be nice. A little attitude would be good and a sports fan would seal the deal. Non-smoker a must.
Meet a soulmate from Brentwood, United States. Los Angeles natives of a certain age may remember the night that the Pan Pacific Auditorium vanished into a fire of unspeakable intensity. It had been built in a more hopeful era and is, to this day, the sexiest building that has ever stood in LA. The building is long gone, but I'd like to think that romance persists.
I grew up here and have stayed here because I hope to meet Zac Efron. I went to school on the East coast, twice. I wore nice shirts, played lots of volleyball, and spent too many nights alone in my room crying to The Smiths.
I read too much and yet I don't read as much as I want to. I've been all over LA -- clubs, bars, crackdens, Arby’s, whatever -- but I'm happy hanging out with friends or staying home and reading at least 100 pages of anything. I also ski and play volleyball, tennis, and I travel as often I can. I try to be normal. I think it's working out OK.
I guess I should at least attempt to describe the sort of person I'm looking for. Someone fit. Someone who is assertive and opinionated. Someone who looks at a menu, points at something and says, "I'll have that." Someone eager to have fun, but willing to enter a real relationship. Someone viciously smart.
Dogs and local sports teams are fine, I like them, I'm just not going to pretend that I really care. Runyon Canyon and salsa dancing, I can do without.
I taught high school for several years and have written about cities and architecture for both pay and pleasure. I've been known to go to other continents just because I felt like it. Sharks have a week dedicated to me. Sometimes I feel like I'm living the dream with MacBook and cell phone in tow, and other times I feel like I'd be better off on a nice commune somewhere.
Here's a brief meta- discussion of Match:
-I have no problem with winks. They're harmless and flattering.
-If I like you, then I'll like your dog.
-I someone professes to "love to laugh" in her profile, I ignore her automatically. I can't think of anything more depressing.
Date men and women from California, United States. Just a guy that wants to live life to the fullest and take in all experiences out there. The funnest time in my life are the unexpected trips or the spontaneous adventures that result in the stories you tell your friends.
Meet single man from California, United States. Here are the cliff notes:
Oldest child. 3 siblings. Parents together for 37 years. Great upbringing. Still fun to visit the East coast and see everyone.
I'm really funny. Like get up on stage and make strangers laugh type of funny. Like oh man I'm glad he showed up to this party kind of funny.
I can dance. Not drunken look at the silly white guy dance. Like I hit the floor and it resembles the final scene of 8 Mile
I love watching sports. Mostly MLB and NFL. Not to the point where I revolve my life around it though. Love a good Sunday funday with football on! Don't worry, you can peel me off of the couch and get me moving..... only if the Phillies or Eagles are not on.
Love good movies. Not into mindless chick flicks (I did love 500 Days of Summer and Crazy, Stupid Love) or Nick Cage craptacular blow up films in 3-D. I can't stand movies with talking animals, something where Madea is the main character or remakes of things I loved already: I'm looking at you Karate Kid (2010) and Footloose (2011). If you can recognize the brilliance of Back to the Future, we'll be fine.
Love great food and I tend to steer clear of chain restaurants. Discovering new places on the Westside always makes me happy. I hate Olive Garden and their commercials with people pretending to enjoy fake pre packaged Italian food and waiters who enjoy refilling the salad bowls all night long.
I'm very attracted to someone who is educated and creates her own happiness without relying on her man or others for that. Someone who's a great conversationalist and can challenge me.
If I had a choice, I'll take a Kristen Wiig or a Tina Fey any day over a contestant on the Bachelor . Personality is huge in a relationship. Love witty banter that goes back and forth like a ping pong match
Date a man from California, United States. I gave a junior high school commencement speech on the theme, "Learn from the past, live in the present, conquer the future". Yes, it was corny, but I got a lot of enthusiastic applause. I crave knowledge, understanding, and insight, but also enjoy laughter and tickles with a fun playmate. I escape to the outdoors whenever I can. Last summer, that meant going on sixteen backpacking trips. I've reacquainted myself with urban life since then, but I'm always scheming to make my next getaway. You'll have to meet me in person to hear of my latest passion.
I'm happy to join friends on urban adventures when I'm in town. When I'm on my own, I'm usually working on my many hobbies, or reading up on the latest news. Speaking of which, I'm conversant in current events, but don't expect me to know about the latest celebrity arrest.
If you are fun but grounded, goal-oriented but realistic, and can tolerate my wanderings into the woods, let's talk!
Meet someone special from California, United States. I am a simple guy, who enjoys what life has to offer. I work hard, play hard, am always on the move. Enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I discovered over time that comedy is the key to enjoying life. I don't get much time for sleep, but always enjoy a good nap. I like to surround myself with people who have great personalities and a good sense of humor. Will travel when I get the opportunity, no matter where it takes me.
Summer time is my favorite time of year, so I try to plan for plenty of outdoor activities. That is all for now, so hopefully someone will come along that catches my eye.
Date people from California, United States. It's not so much what I'm doing but who I'm doing it with. I like a person who enjoys life's uneventful moments as much as the eventful ones. Someone who would interest me would have fun doing just about anything, loves a good conversation and a good laugh (life without laughter isn't really living), has high standards for herself and for the people around her, someone who lives by the idea that it's what you do that defines you, and has the attitude and energy to keep things interesting.
A few things about me:
- I work in my family's hotel business, managing one of our properties, and designing for the properties as well.
- I'm president of a local business association, which has inspired me to possibly enter politics, someday.
- For now, though, travel is my work, my life and my passion! My bags are always packed! I take a weekend getaway whenever I can (friends all over California from San Francisco to San Diego, as well as Chicago and NYC). I love LA, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Orange County, but for great food and photo ops, there's nowhere quite like San Francisco. I take one international trip each year...I love Europe and Mexico, Australia is a blast, the Caribbean is beautiful, but if I went back to any region I've already been to, East Asia would be first, no doubt. The most beautiful city in the world might be Paris, and New York might be the greatest, but the word "city" on an entirely other level is best defined by Tokyo. Favorite food city: Singapore. Favorite city with a nod to the past: Kyoto. Most surreal city: Beijing. Smartest city: London. Craziest city: definitely, Bangkok (sorry, Amsterdam).
- When I'm not working, and if I'm not traveling, you'll probably find me out with friends/family for dinner or drinks, working out (especially after a night of dinner/drinks), playing tennis, walking my dog (boxer), reading a book/magazine, or getting things done around my house.
- Favorite foods: Everything.
- Favorite drinks: Wine/Champagne and Scotch...but never together!
- Favorite movies: The Dark Knight, V for Vendetta, Big Fish, Love Actually, Dumb and Dumber and The Devil Wears Prada...truth be told.
- When I stay in and watch a movie at home, I always make popcorn. When I go out to watch a movie at the theater, I always fully intend on ordering popcorn, but for some reason the words, "Nachos with jalapenos, please," comes out. Still working on that.
- I will step up to any karaoke mic.
- I play the piano.
- I've taken up photography...another one of my passions!
- I play sports, not games.
- I always text/call back.
- I believe it's not what you say, think, or feel, but what you do that defines you.
- I live by two basic principles: Treat others as you, yourself, would wish to be treated; We are one.
- Chivalry isn't dead.
- I grew up around horses my whole life, and I have a boxer, Evander.
- I think laughter might actually really be the best medicine.
- I love my family and friends!
Meet a soulmate from California, United States. I'm a very outgoing, fun, active and passionate person that enjoys family and friends, traveling and keeping busy. I enjoy a good mix of activities from exotic travels, roadtrips, restaurants, sporting events, and cultural events around the city - museums, concerts, plays, etc. I am also active with LACMA and other philanthropic ventures. I'm a big foodie, so love pretty much any restaurant that isn't franchised... save In-N-Out. I appreciate food since our family was subjected to my fathers culinary experiments - "...here kids, why don't you try some of this...."!!
I'm looking for a great girl that I can really connect with - a smart, sensible, attractive and down-to-earth girl that's intrigued by new things and has a penchant for adventure. I also don't mind someone who doesn't take themself too seriously and can be a goof at times. Someone who values family and friends, enjoys her independence, is settled in where she is in life and her career/job and is interested in dating a man.
Some other notes:
- I am very outgoing and love to show people or my date a good time.
- I love wearing suits / I love wearing casual clothes as well... a good range.
- I am very outdoorsy and love golfing, hiking, biking, swimming, snow skiing. I may try to get you out camping!
- I'm into the arts and have been drawing/painting since I was 5 yo. Taking a small hiatus thats lasted 8 yrs!
- I have a very dry, sarcastic sense of humor. If I am joking around or "hazing" you, it only means I like you.
