Date men and women from United States. Im an engineer... but the fun green energy/solar one that gets to travel around the world and build in exotic and beautiful locations like Basrah and Fresno.
I’m quite spontaneous, I’ll decide to randomly take off for a week on a day’s notice and gorge on seafood while getting into as many adventures as I possibly can.
I can make you laugh, there will never be an "awkward silence.” When I sense you are getting nervous, don't worry, I'll just tease you.
I am pretty handy and can fix anything around the house, except for pets...and macs, those should be left for the pro's.
I am the oldest of three and know how to make Lebanese moonshine almost as good as my grandpa's.
I’ve lost count of the number of countries I’ve lived and worked in, one of the benefits of having worked for an international firm.
Some friends share stories with their friends of my past misadventures… I hate it when I am introduced to someone new through them and they say “oh! You’re the guy that did…”
I have a clean police record (in the US)
Contrary to popular belief, Real Men do exist and I am not afraid to make the first move when the time comes.
There is so much more...
Life is looking pretty awesome for me now and as looks don't impress me much, I am looking for someone with personality and that ever elusive chemistry
Meet people from Berkeley, United States. I'm a strange combination of personality traits. I'm outgoing around most people, shy in certain settings. I used promote parties for fun; now I stick to daytime activities whenever I can. While I'm not particularly a gourmet, I've invested in a restaurant and may do another... but my real interest in organizing big social events.
If I had a choice, I'd spent most of my free time outdoors. I enjoy running and biking. Last year, I took up triathlons and have since swam from Alcatraz, twice, and tried my hand at an Ironman. I finished grace-lessy, but it was still a finish! Pretty good for a boy who didn't know how to swim until he was 25.
Despite having a huge network, I've haven't met someone that I really clicked with. I'm hoping to cast a wider net on this site, although I understand that a lot of things happen by chance.
I value independence, loyalty, and hard work. I respect woman with drive. I fall for women with playful personalities, a beautiful smile, and ambition. And legs. I have a thing for legs. But I don’t fall for women often.
Date someone special from California, United States. I've lived in the Bay Area for over nine years now and absolutely love it here! I always enjoy meeting new people and finding new and exciting things to do here. Of course, finding new and exciting things to do in the Bay Area is very easy indeed because there's definitely something for everyone here.
People would probably say that I'm a very motivated and determined person who sets goals for himself and strives to achieve them, but at the same time loves to have fun and try new and fun things. I love running, cycling, hiking, working out, going to a cafe to do some reading, going to a sports game, watching movies, and going out to a pub or restaurant on a Friday or Saturday night. I especially enjoy attending live music shows, museums, art shows, theatrical performances, and even just going to a random art gallery and viewing all the magnificent works of art there. I've really started to appreciate the arts more and more as I discover so many interesting places here.
I'd love to meet that special person in my life to hang out with and have fun! I hope to talk with you soon :-)
Meet a man from California, United States. I like meeting new people and I love hearing their life stories. I travel extensively to meet people and learn about their culture. Just this year alone, I have visited Korea, Brazil, and Greece. I have not planned my next adventure as yet, any suggestions?
Mine is probably the oldest story in the book. I have a great education and a successful career. However, this success has come at the cost of personal relationships.
I am known as a mature, loyal, genuine, thoughtful, and knowledgeable person. I am quirky and I have goofy sense of humor. I like the simple things like, taking long walks through the neighborhood. A few of my favorite things: blossoms, fall colors, foreign movies, nieces/nephews, animals, playing sports, and Sunday brunch.
I am generally attracted to people who are authentic, open and like to share. I value heart over mind and prefer friends who do the same. I am looking for someone who has a large heart and an open-mind. Intelligence is huge turn on for me.
If you would like to view my pics from my trips, you can do so on instagram (same username)
Date single man from California, United States. I’m a hard working, down to earth, easy going guy, that says just about anything to make you laugh. Between work and finishing my dissertation for a PhD, I keep pretty busy. like to unwind with friends and family as much as I can. Whether hiking, rafting, snowboarding, boating, kayaking, cycling, camping, fishing or SCUBA diving, I love being in the outdoors. That's part of the reason I chose to pursue a career in natural resource management and work as a fishery biologist. I also enjoy city life, going to shows, bars and enjoying fine dinning. A movie marathon with a fire in the fireplace on a rainy night is great too. I’m open to new experiences and traveling.
I’m looking for someone with her own passions and interests. Witt, intelligence, common sense, motivation, a good sense of humor and a kind heart are all things I value. More than anything, I am looking for someone that makes me happy and vice versa. The rest is chemistry. If you’re interested, give me a wink or say Hi!
Meet people from California, United States. I'm just back from Gay Ski Week in Aspen. I had a fabulous time and might make it an annual event. And I did come away confident that if I were gay, I wouldn't need to spend my time at match.com, but it can be a dull straight world out there. I'm going to make the best of it though, so here's the latest from my team of profile wizards:
In a nutshell, I'm a fit, active engineer raised by academics and no matter what activities I engage in, I still seem to identify myself more with how I think than all the activities I do. I'm very close with my family, enjoy socializing, and would describe myself as friendly and optimistic even if my humor can be black at times. I'm looking for someone extra sharp, fiercely creative and productive, fit, ready to partner with me in activities and eager to share her own world with me.
All that said, let me still bore you with a few facts about my lifestyle that I have yet to weave in more smoothly:
I usually have some physical activity on the menu 5 or 6 days a week. My favorite past time is playing soccer -- I captain a team -- but an opponent crushed my ankle a few months ago, so I've been cycling and practicing yoga a lot lately. This spring, I have a share up in Tahoe and a season pass, so I'll be skiing, snowboarding, and wouldn't also mind doing some skate skiing, x-country or snowshoeing again this season. I took a cycling clinic the other day on ascending/descending, so when I'm not in the snow, I'm looking forward to putting what I learned into action.
I've had my job in the semiconductor industry for over 10 years now. [Actually, I just quit, and have a new job in SF]. It offers a comfortable outlet for my creativity and my work there provides a sense of accomplishment, although I make plenty of time for other activities. In the past, I've coached youth soccer teams and volunteered at a local school. Most recently, I spent a bunch of time earning a yoga teacher certification (it wasn't completely my chai latte but if you need your chakras realigned, I can recommend someone). Other ways I spend my time are reading, playing jazz piano and following the english premier league.
I also am an eager traveller, whether it's up to Tahoe, up the coast, or anywhere in the west. I've traveled in Europe, Asia and Central America and the Caribbean, although my passport hasn't gotten any interesting stamps in the last couple of years (sorry, Canada). [Update: I had my passport stamped in Indonesia recently. It's a great place for eating and diving, and probably some other things too, but that's all I got around to on my latest trip. ]
Also, I really am 5'10". Everything else might be lies, but bring a tape measure (or a ruler and a sextant) when we meet and find out for yourself. (Bring a polygraph machine to find out about everything else -- I'd love to see one).
Date a soulmate from Berkeley, United States. I settled in Berkeley in 94' while in college. I'm a tech entrepreneur with worldly experience and an adventurous soul. I take a balanced approach to work, play, and health, I love music.. I have a sarcastic but kind sense of humor ;) for fun, I play records and mess around with audio equipment which I used to do for the SF Symphony. My background is in engineering and finance. I like to improvise while on vacation and outings in general. I run a solar power design and installation co with an office in Berkeley.
Here are some of the places which have helped to shape who I am:
Key West, Hollywood, Jamaica, Bahamas, Coral Gables, Bombay India, San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, New York, and Venice beach. I have both a bohemian and conservative back ground which gives me chameleon powers.
My iPod has a mix of garage, break beats, 80's disco.
I am looking for a well balanced, worldly, beautiful, naturally nice woman.
Meet men and women from Berkeley, United States. I'm looking for a smart, fun lady who likes to explore, be outdoors, travel the world, and actively works to make her dreams come true. A great match would be someone who values the beautiful place we live, and seeks to make things better -- while maintaining a sense of humor and balance over life's ups and downs. And if you're not prone to some sarcasm and laughter, things probably won't work out :)
I live in Berkeley and work in San Francisco -- which to me, is the best of both sides of the bay. My house is near Tilden, and I'm frequently hiking or wandering about this beautiful place we live. I'm working, exploring, and learning (hmm, that sounds like Anthony Bourdain). I love to travel, enjoy the outdoors (hey, it's camping season -- time to get out there), and really enjoy my job building great entertainment technology. I'm passionate about my friendships and social relationships. I put a lot of time into what I do, so I pick what's important and leave the rest behind. I love my family even if they drive me a little crazy some times. And I make a mean curry, gazpacho, and can throw down some champion BBQ (and due to years of living in Berkeley -- I also end up cooking a lot of vegetarian and vegan snack). I usually maintain a general sense of optimism regardless of the situation -- I tend to think people's perspectives on things drive a lot of their happiness.
Travel has been central to my life, though I'm trying to spend a lot more time at my home these days. I've lived in Mexico and Thailand (in a non-creepy way, thanks for asking), and have visited upwards of 50 countries. I travel for work and for fun, and love finding (and sharing) some unique corner of the world (especially places with Scuba!). I like to try and cook dishes from my travels -- living in the Bay I like finding the one corner with great ramen noodles, or Oaxacan quesillo.
I'm a big reader -- I loved The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao and the Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet were awesome books. I like Neal Stephenson, Richard Russo, Vonnegut, and Philip Roth. I loved the Famished Road, and really enjoyed a lot of the classic novels I've read: Madame Bovary, Anna Karenina. and the like. My sister and I keep a pretty solid book exchange. I have a soft spot for the 3 Musketeers (Dumas is awesome), and don't understand why someone can't make a decent movie about it ( just saw a new poster for another attempt at it -- and it looks awful). I'll also tear through a sci-fi or fan-tasty series (Game of Thrones! Night Circus!) on a long trip -- guilty delicious pleasures. Oh, and I like Spanish lit a lot -- magical realism such as Marquez and Allende. And Borges is a deity who should be allowed to rule.
I love all sorts of music (from indie rock, to hip-hop, classical and jazz) and love spending time at concerts, festivals, or other live music venues. Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, Cut Copy, Yacht, Belle & Sebastian, the Dodos, and many others come to mind. I've recently been listening to a lot of Dawes, Allo Darling, Destroyer, Black Keys, and I went to the Rufus Wainwright show recently.
I'm comfortable in my skin, and happy to lead or support depending on the situation. I'm a good planner, but don't get to stressed out if plans change -- those are usually some of the most fun memories overall. So if you're a a smart, fun lady who knows how to balance her personal and professional life, drop me a line. If you're a little bit fiesty and/or geeky, that's definite plus. And if you want to explore, want to be with someone who makes you laugh, and you're open to more -- I could be your guy.
Date people from Berkeley, United States. I've got a curious disposition and an eclectic mix of interests. Pixar, trail runs, the upcoming Olympics, Gypsy jazz, Higgs boson—all come to mind as interesting in my book at the moment. I love to be active and explore, and when not seeking out the next adventure, am quite skilled at hanging out and being lazy. Cooking at home and tripping the night fantastic sound equally cool to me. Ok, maybe there's less tripping these days and more dinner parties, but I can have fun in all kinds of different situations. Saying rural juror makes me laugh.
Am searching for someone to share my love of travel, food, family, and overweight, enthusiastic dogs. I've always enjoyed movies and tend to read a good amount, which means I'm always down to geek out over books, TV, or find the best burger in town. The right person for me will have a sense of humor—someone who is smart, thoughtful, down to earth, and enjoys conversation.
Meet a soulmate from Berkeley, United States. I am originally from Sacramento and have yet to explore the Bay Area. I like exquisite dining and will try anything. Yes, I do eat sushi. I love my job, yet I like taking time off to enjoy life. What can I say? Positive people are a plus. Life is too short not to enjoy it.Beaches are nice when it's cold, along with a hot cup of coffee. I could hike all day and am interested into getting back into to camping. It's nice to work in the city and then get back to nature. I go to Mexico once a year. But, I am planning to go across seas. Finally, nothing beats good friendships and honesty. If I miss your profile, don't hesitate to drop me a line.
Date a man from Berkeley, United States. I'm just a nice, driven, family and career oriented guy, who has some exciting hobbies sprinkled in...
I grew up in the bay area, and have remained here to stay close with my family who I see regularly. I own a nice home, and am just getting a career off the ground that will provide a lifetime of learning and helping other people, and a pretty good income. I'm looking forward to meeting someone who is ready to be settled down, and who isn't caught up in the serial, compulsive first date dating game that seems to result from online dating.
Communication and proximity are very important to me. I don't have much interest in spending time in SF, where most of the nice women see to be. I feel couped up when my time is spent in traffic, fighting for parking, and hanging out in apartment boxes in large buildings. I expect pretty solid communication, especially after I have become intimate with someone. I think texting is a trap, I hardly do it, and I think if you care to grow someone's feelings for you, you shouldn't answer a voicemail with a text. Isn't that what we do when we try to blow someone off??
Looking back at my previous relationships, I'm seeing some similar elements among those females:
-Spending frequent time with their family...
-Slower social lives...
-Old fashioned values..
-Loves what they do for work (not just your coworkers), or passionately engaged in something outside of work/social life.
-Smaller than me, and younger than me by a few years...
-no high heels, fake nails, or lots of make up
Meet single man from Berkeley, United States. I am very content with my life I have a career that allows me the oppurtunity to help people on a daily basis and is rewarding. I love to travel and expierence new things. I have a lot of close friends and a great relationship with my family. I tried to stay active and kickbox, workout and surf. I have a yellow lab that I adore and I love to take her running and to the park. I guess the only thing that is truly missing is someone to share life with. I would like to find a girl who enjoys travel and new adventures but also enjoys going out for nice dinner and drinks or a quiet night at home.
