Date people from California, United States. Adventurous, willing to try new things at least one before saying no.
Traveling, that's a big part of my life.
Food, love cooking and eating.
Learning, one can never stop learning in life.
Dogs, I love dogs.
Meet a woman from California, United States. I like bright colors, sheer honesty, absurd humor, spicy Thai food, genuine kindness, Brazilian jazz, and realistic optimism. I love the pioneering spirit and freedom of California, which has made me more relaxed and creative. But IРІР‚в„ўve kept my East Coast ambition, strength, and values: I work hard, show up when I say I will, and am there for my friends and family no matter what. I try to live a meaningful, fun and creative life. As a therapist, IРІР‚в„ўve worked with kids in Oakland Public Schools and homeless women in Berkeley. IРІР‚в„ўm honored to help people, and I love that thereРІР‚в„ўs no such thing as an ordinary day--IРІР‚в„ўm continually surprised, humbled, and in awe of peoplesРІР‚в„ў life stories.
My passion for music makes room for Jeff Buckley, Suzanne Vega, Thelonius Monk, the Shins, Allison Krauss, Bob Dylan and Brahms, to start with. I love seeing anything live, whether it's at YoshiРІР‚в„ўs, Davies Symphony Hall or a hole-in-the-wall in the Mission. Have been playing piano and singing for years, and am starting to write some tunes.
I also love going to museums, movies, dance performances, and plays. I’d like to be fluent in Spanish one day, but for now I try to pick up what I can by reading Borges, watching Almodovar films or listening to “La Calle.” Enjoy being outdoors--staircase walks in SF, hiking in Tilden, last-minute road trips on Sunday, despite the laundry piling up. I’m adventurous in the sense of trying new things and exploring the world. Not a big physical risk-taker, although I did burn out the soles of my sneakers hiking an active volcano in Guatemala. I also have a reflective side to me, which I nurture by playing music, meditating, or reading.
My hope here is for a spectacular and supportive relationship. WeРІР‚в„ўll see success in each otherРІР‚в„ўs futures and help to achieve those goals. WeРІР‚в„ўll make each other laugh. IРІР‚в„ўll know our love is deep and true when your struggles and shortcomings are as dear to me as everything else about you. But letРІР‚в„ўs start by having a great first date.
Date a soulmate from California, United States. Hmmm, describe myself? I am funny and I like to laugh. I can be quiet sometimes, and even shy--though I do like public speaking, go figure! My family is uber important to me and I love them to smitherines, yeah, I said it, smitherines!
I am very attracted to funny guys--witty and sarcastic especially. I also think family oriented guys are attractive, though I'm not looking for a daddy for my babies, just someone with similar values!
I like being active and I especially love kick-boxing, though I don't practice it anymore. Some other athletic-type activities I enjoy are weight training and running. You don't have to be Mr. In-Shape for me, just someone who enjoys being active.
I also love being out in nature--it can be hiking a trail, or walking the beach, just as long as it is outside. I think it is great to go for a hike on a grey day.
Well I'm not sure what else to say, so I guess you'll have to find out the rest for yourself!
Meet people from California, United States. I strive for balance in my life, and believe that maintaining my physical, emotional, and spiritual health gives me the inner strength I need to show up for the people I care about. I have two awesome small kids whom I love more than anything, I have a rewarding and challenging professional career, and I am involved in non profit groups because I believe you get what you give, and I want to model that for my kids. I am pretty high energy, but I also crave moments of stillness and serenity - so much so, that I wake nearly every morning at an ungodly hour so that I can exercise and meditate before the demands of the day kick in.
Humor is really important to me (particularly quick-witted banter), and I love both laughing and making others laugh. I love dressing up and going out for great food, arts and film, and music, but I also love watching a British comedy or HBO drama at home on the couch with nibbles and a glass of wine, and someone to share them with. I love to travel and would like to return to it after a kid-related hiatus.
I was the first child in my family to go to college, and I am really proud of that. I am pretty self sufficient and independent in most ways, and would enjoy spending time with someone who also gets the Jack Donaghy jokes on 30 Rock (and finds them funny!). I am a Myers-Briggs ENTP personality type; if that means something to you, especially if you know and like other ENTPs in your life, we should chat.
So, in short, balance is key: work, home, kids, activity, stillness, humor, compassion, health, and indulgence. All of these together make me the happy, healthy, loving person I am.
What I am looking for on Match: You are smart, with good written and oral grammar. You are really, really funny, but manage to be compassionate toward others as well. You are educated, cultured, and value continuous learning, but appreciate the gifts of a working class background. You keep yourself in shape and know not to wear white running shoes with jeans for a night out. You are secure with yourself, such that you are able to be gracious to others and accept their humanity and faults. You enjoy probing conversation over small talk. You are a bit old fashioned about courtship, and will call me rather than waiting for me to call. You may not be on Match at all, but hey, I might as well have this profile out there since I rarely interact with single people in my regular life. Thanks for reading.
Date a woman from United States. My friends would say I am loyal, generous and sweet but also intense, quick thinking, ridiculously silly sometimes and way too serious other times. I am pretty energetic, can talk a million miles a minute, but also really like the silence that comes when you are off in the woods or just existing with a good friend. I work in an intense, analytical job that I really love; I am very curious about the world and how things work and love learning new things. Fairly middle-of-the-road girl-next-door in some ways, I am not super fanatical about anything but like variety in my life. I am down to earth, intellectual, traditional and completely non-conventional - all at the same time. I value a somewhat silly sense of humor, being balanced between ambition and leisure, and being grounded without getting too new-age-y about it. A sharp mind coupled to a quick smile, self-confidence coupled with some humility for your good fortune - that both describes me and describes what I look for. Curiosity, chivalry, kindness, ambition, warmth, humor, energy, intellect - all good things in my book. If you fit the bill, we should get together.
Meet someone special from Albany, United States. Most people would say IРІР‚в„ўm fun-loving, gregarious, kind, open-minded, passionate, non-drama and seem younger than 40 (hopefully that's a goood thing?).
It would be nice to fall naturally into a relationship (I only date one guy at a time), but I'm happy with my life and not interested in getting married or moving in with anyone too soon. But I'm looking for a guy that's interested in spending a lot of time doing fun, spontaneous, interesting things together. I'm not a good match for workaholics, 'players,' or commitment phobes.
WHAT I'M INTO
Music is a *huge* part of my life. I see it live at least once a week, and spend a lot of time reading about it and listening to tracks of new bands on the rise. Mostly indie and rock...all over SF and Oakland. But I gravitate to soulful lyrics like Iron Wine and Dawes. On the flip side, I recently saw Social D and love seeing classic street punk at the Uptown. (Ideally, you can hang with that.).
I borrowed a piano a few months ago and started learning to play, but I've had a lot of distractions and business that have chewed into my practicing. :-/ Trying to change that...
I'm not into TV (except Anthony Bourdain...love that man), but have been into movies since I watched the classics as a kid. My all-time favs include:
- The Notebook
- High Fidelity
- Blade Runner
- Dr. Zhivago
- Lost in Translation
- So I Married an Axe Murderer
- Dazed Confused
I daydream about where to travel next. I've been to 11 countries including Tunisia. I never mind going places by myself... at home or abroad. More chance to meet new people and stumble upon unexpected experiences and adventures.
Besides that, I like getting outside in the fresh air... organic gardening, kicking around the soccer ball, riding my Razor, dancing, hiking, skiing.
CAREER
Going on 18 yrs in high-tech public relations...right now at a fun successful startup.
But after that long in tech, I recently decided I need a change. So I'm spending a lot of my free time networking and trying to figure out how to make a living (financially) doing live music promotion. I'm getting there little by little. Where there's a will, there's a way!
Since I tend to be a high-energy Type A during the week, I look forward to weekend mornings of la dolce far niente. 'The sweetness of doing nothing.' I love wrapping myself up in a sheet to make good, dark coffee, and then hopping back into bed to drink it while warm sun streams through the windows or rain falls on the patio outside. It's therapeutic.
IN CASE YOU'RE WONDERING
Yes, I have 2 wonderful, hilarious, loving children that live with me 50% of the time. I'm still really amicable with my ex. That leaves me a lot of free time to go out, date, take long weekends, do my own thing, and basically...be in a relationship if things work out that way.
YOU SHOULD CONTACT ME IF...
You're more interested in meeting offline than messaging. The only way to find out if we have chemistry is to meet, so let's do it!
Worst case? We've had wine or a pint together and parted ways. I can think of worse ways to spend an evening.
Date people from Albany, United States. I'm going to TRY and keep this as short and sweet as possible. I know if a profile is too long or itРІР‚в„ўs lumped into one large paragraph, I am less apt to read through it. Chemistry is key and I think a quick overview of the important aspects of myself and some pics should do the trick. So far, do I spark your interest?
I am a single mom to a 7 year old son. I have been happily single for over 3 years. While I feel like my life is in a great place (my kid rocks, I have a full time, secure and meaningful job, I live in a community where I feel truly at home and have great friends and family), there is one thing I would like to add and that is why IРІР‚в„ўve chosen to come here.
I am fun, energetic, and enjoy spoiling the ones I love. I love to kiss (again this is where chemistry is key). I am a straight forward person, I where my emotions on my shoulders and speak my mind; you always know where you stand with me. Friends and family would say that is one of the many qualities about me. I'm a fairly simple woman, not too high maintenance yet I take care of myself. It doesn't take much to make me smile (e.g. flowers once in a while; a random, romantic text; and a surprise visit). I often have a sarcastic sense of humor and love to joke around and play. I laugh a lot, cry occasionally (usually a good cry), and have an upbeat personality.I like to camp, go to amusement parks, and go on weekend getaways when I have free time. I enjoy going out with my friends for drinks (happy hours rock!) just as much as staying home drinking a bottle of wine, a six pack of beer or vodka with lime. I also enjoy going to the movies and sporting events, especially baseball and basketball. I haven't traveled much but REALLY want to...going to Vegas for a week for the umpteenth time this summer. Oh I love Vegas! This time I am taking my son and we're going to the Grand Canyon. I also LOVE baseball and go to games as much as possible. Go A's (not the Giants!)!!! :)
My son is my main focus and TOP priority. Who I choose to spend time with MUST love children.
While I am more than comfortable taking things slow, I am looking for a long term relationship. If we meet and date, you most likely will not meet my son right away as I strongly believe in not having my son see me with various men. So with that said, lets “hook up”! Just kidding, really! I AM NOT INTERESTED IN A ONE NIGHT STAND, SO IF THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR, please press NEXT!
Please note: I am only interested in men that live within a short distance from me (SF/East Bay area only).
So much for my short intro...:)
Meet a soulmate from Albany, United States. This is a short description of who you are and what you're looking for. This is a short description of who you are and what you're looking for. This is a short description of who you are and what you're looking for. This is a short description of who you are and what you're looking for.
Date a woman from United States. I'm a very sincere and happy kind of gal. What makes me happy the most is to be with people who are willing to be real and care about something or someone other than themselves......life is not just about trying to get ahead, but how you can give back to make the world a better place than you left it. I feel really blessed in this point of my life where I have a good job and surrounded by loving friends and family. It would be wonderful to share my interest in hiking, dancing to 80's or 90's music and eating good Asian food. Of course, if you don't eat Asian food, I won't hold it against you, but at least I hope you will be willing to try the Asian noodles.
I'm looking for a committed long-term relationship because there's no other point when you open your heart and surrender to giving/receiving love. You and I must be willing to explore life together based on trust and appreciation for each other.
I have an appreciation of art. IРІР‚в„ўm not talking about the kind you do with a crayons, although I have nothing against that because I own a box. But, I love art that makes you see the beauty of life and people. My favorite museums are SF MOMA, Paris Louvre, Guggenheim and the NY MET.
Traveling is another passion of mine. I love to see different architecture from other places and feed my curiosity about other cultures. My next adventure is to plan a trip to Italy. I want to see Venice, hike on the rolling hills and head to the canal to ride the gondola.
I want a man that sees that the beauty in finding comfort in being able to tell each other what's on our mind and take the risk to love wholeheartedly......so, what's on your mind?
Meet a woman from California, United States. I am very grateful to have and love my friends and family as they make me laugh and share my happiest and saddest moments.
I am interested in someone who shares the same values and enjoys sharing their lives with others.
Date people from United States. My favorite quote is "Be the change you want to see in the world"(Gandhi). I believe you can accomplish this in small as well as large ways. In addition to wanting to help make the world a better place, I have a playful and adventurous spirit. Some of my experiences include studying dance in Cuba and volunteering to build houses for Habitat for Humanity in Mexico. I began dancing at very young age and later became a gymnast. The discipline of a gymnast life style and the love of dance has stuck with me. I continue to eat well and do calisthenics and dance on a regular basis.
I enjoy the simple pleasures in life and find happiness in every day things. Something as simple as walking to the library or snuggling up to watch a movie brings me joy. I am not very materialistic and find it very satisfying to find cool, barely used clothing at Thrift Town. I also get a lot of pleasure out of making home made gifts and cooking for loved ones.
I love life and I am grateful for every day I have. I am the type of person that sees the glass as half full. My spiritual beliefs have been formed by a variety of influences including Buddhism and metaphysics. I truly believe in the Buddhist wisdom of "turning poison into medicine". While my divorce was very painful, I realized early on that I would learn and grow and become even more conscious by going through that experience.
I have been single for about 3 years and I've come to a place where I am ready to meet that special someone. I have a very full, enjoyable life with loving, supportive friends and family members, but there is nothing like having a loving partner by your side. I like to start slow and have fun while getting to know someone. My ultimate goal is to have a lifelong monogamous partnership that is built on friendship, trust, play, intimacy, mutual support, and integrity.
I am a full-time mother of a 6 year old boy, who is very enthusiastic and energetic. My son's father lives out of state, so I don't have to deal with the possible challenges that can come with co-parenting with an X. I have parenting support that allows me to have a personal, adult life outside my "mommy life". I can even do romantic getaways :-), but my "special someone" loves children and understands it's a package deal.
If my profile resonates with you and youРІР‚в„ўd like to know more about me, please send me a message.
Meet someone special from United States. Hi there. Thanks for checking out my profile. I guess I'm looking for what we all are: that person who makes you feel like the best version of yourself. Someone to laugh with, hang out with, get serious with. Someone who can express himself well and knows how to appreciate the simple moments in life. Someone intelligent, funny, kind, and honest.
I am the mother of the world's most talkative 10-year-old boy, who keeps me laughing and makes my life so much fun. I'm so proud and lucky to be his mom.
What else about me... I am always up for trying new things and seeing new places, but I'm just as content to cook some comfort food at home and snuggle up on the couch for a good movie. I love being around people who make me think and ponder and laugh about life. I'm a pretty grounded person and would describe myself as low-maintenance -- definitely not into relationship drama. I love hanging out with my family, and I'd rather be surrounded by a few close friends who know me really well than be in a room full of random acquaintances.
I am making a midlife career change and getting my teaching credential. I've completed all the coursework and just finished my second semester of student teaching in a second grade classroom. Currently I am subbing here and there and I hope to have my own class next fall.
