Date men and women from United States / California, 69 year old - page 4

Date a soulmate from California, United States. Hello,
First of all - a request: if my profile piques your interest, I'd appreciate receiving an email rather than a wink.
About me: I'm seeking a long-term relationship - a life full of friendship, love, laughter, trust, new discoveries and continued growth.
I don't believe in pedestals or perfection, just honesty, intimacy, laughter and love. I'm not interested in changing or taking over your life. But if you believe that two kindred spirits can cuddle their time together to maximize the joy and fulfillment that life can offer, then you'll have my undivided attention.
I'm healthy and in good shape (5'7"/150 lbs), love golf (and other walks not-so-spoiled), tennis, taking photographs, art museums, architecture, decorating, good movies, good books, chess and Scrabble, sports (participating and viewing), quiet conversations, stimulating conversations, an organized and peaceful living environment, flea markets, hiking, traveling to see new places that challenge and enhance one’s perspectives on life, and quality time with friends and family. With social work and real estate careers behind me, I strive to add wisdom with each passing year as I learn more about what makes me tick (and no, I'm not a crocodile!).
My taste in music is varied - classical to Leonard Cohen, but not rap. I love low budget and/or foreign films that make you think, touch your heart and/or take you places you've never been. Favorite travel destinations include many countries in Europe, Victoria (BC), Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Santa Barbara, Carmel, Sedona, Denver and the high country. I’m sure there could be many more. What are your favorites?
Favorite authors include Dan Brown (I wish he'd write more), Ken Follett (The Pillars of the Earth, World Without End, and Fall of Giants were particularly engrossing), David Baldacci, Daniel Silva, Lee Child, James Patterson, Nelson DeMille, Harlen Cob
en, Michael Connelly, Malcolm Gladwell, John Grisham, Jonathon Kellerman, as well as non-fiction books, news and articles of personal interest. I recently finished Walter Isaacson’s biography about Steve Jobs - engrossing, to say the least.
Returning to us for a moment, I’m looking for a committed relationship with someone who's slender, healthy, fit and happy. If you believe that a healthy relationship takes ongoing communication and occasional compromise in order to survive, but shouldn't be hard work, then (as Leonard Cohen would say) "I'm your man." Each of us should simply feel lucky and blessed to be given the opportunity to explore, grow, smile, love and be loved, and share life's offerings with good grace and appreciation. That said, we would not be well matched if you smoke, are heavily religious and/or politically conservative, or are prone to heavy drinking.
A word about honesty: it leads to trust, and trust mines a most precious commodity - joy. So, if you happen to fancy the thought of discovering an honest, straightforward, kindred spirit smiling back at you, then I'll look forward to learning more about you. Perhaps in time we'll decide to share a life joyfully bedrocked in honesty, enjoying the simple things as well as new adventures together. Yes, maybe a bit overly romantic, but then, if you're the one I seek, when I think of "home" - I want to think of you.

Meet single man from California, United States. I am a retired professional person, widowed and looking for that right person. I have done quit a bit of traveling and still enjoy it, both foreign and domestic. I live a simple life and don't need drama. There is plenty of that available in movies and theater.
What would be great would be to find that person who enjoys quality time with "THEIR" right person. A loving, affectionate person, a companion, a person with a sense of humor and an easy laugh, and a confidant person to share life with. A person interested in a serious relationship. Most of all, UNDERSTANDING! After all, I am a guy.
Have been in San Diego area for a long time and am an original Californian. In todays times, not sure if I should admit that or not??? Oh well. I do like to dance, walk the dog, take walks, visit the sites of San Diego and travel. Being at home is something I enjoy too.
Anyways, thats a brief overview of me. There really is more but that is for you to discover.
P.S. MUST LOVE ANIMALS

Date someone special from California, United States. I am emotionally and financially secure and have the time and resources to travel and spend quality time with a special lady. I appreciate good health and the attention to staying fit. I am warm, caring, and thoughful of others. I am ready to play and enjoy life. I have a playful sense of humor and a innate curiousity. I like nature, fishing, sports.
(especially golf) and animals. Most of all I would like to establish a mutually supportive relationshipfriendship with my soulmatelover that would last the rest of my life time.

Meet people from California, United States. I'm just a fun loving guy looking for someone to share life's experiences with. I like new adventure and revisiting some of the old. I would like a match that would bring new experiences and excitement into my life.

Date men and women from California, United States. Enjoying life in my lakeside home I'm remodeling on Upper Hidden Lake in Orange County.Much still to do both inside and outside. Getting great advice from those here on landscaping, appliances, recipes, remodeling. Would love to find someone to join me in doing all this. My dock is empty, my rennovated park bench overlooking the lake is empty ... but my heart is full. For some reason they have my age at 68 when I am 71 ... wanted to set record straight. I'm a straight shooter from beginning to end. If you're a Glen Beck and O'Reilly fan, we might not have a lot in common, but hey, it's worth a try if other things mesh.
At 24 Hour Fitness I've worked myself into the black range, which is the middle range for the strength machines. Up to Intermedite Yoga at Yoga Haus in Pasadena and training for my first Half Marathon using the Rose Bowl track with my indefatigable drill seargent daughter attempting to train me back into my 30s.
One of my loves is growing my own fruit and veggies and grilling them in my backyard for friends. My grilled asparagus with Ken's Walnut Raspberry Vinagrette and toasted slivered almonds is a fav on my BBQ along with grilled new potatoes n rosemary, crook neck squash, zuchinni, and even romaine (believe me, it does grill once you learn the trick). Thanks to highly cooperative neighbors, I can pump music out onto my lakeside patio with 9-speaker surround sound with stadium delay (eat your hearts out guys) and the dancing there under the moon is, as we used to say in high school, way cool man ... way cool ... ;-))
OK...now for the bonus history story....My father's ancestors were arrow-makers from Normandy that enabled William the Conqueror to successfully invade England in 1066 AD...the family name in French was Fleche and became Fletcher later when they settled near Grimsby on the cold northeast coast of England as armaments makers for the English and Scots, later to be conquered by the Vikings and to give to England their Family Motto "Mars non Cupidimus" ... a motto the Beatles reversed into Make Love Not War (a much better version I'd say). Mom's relos were the ones in England and Wales conquered by old William and his pesky archers ... King Herold never looked quite the same after that arrow destroyed his bold countenance and opened the door for the Normans/French to take over England..
At the end of the day, as the sun settles over the far end of the lake, the entire surface boils red for the final moments of that day, never to return. Now all I need is someone to enjoy all this with....to make the red last. Perhaps you?
Love and chemistry is what it's all about...Sinatra taught us that, right? I dont know about you, but when Frank sings, I listen.
There you have it, a marketing consultant rehabbing a beat up 70s two-story and trying to transform an old dock on a forgotten lake into a home worthy of the Queen of England or at least the Dutchess of Northumberland ... the lonely lakeman looking for his mate .... will his arrow find you?
ttfn,
Lake-Forest-Man
PS: Don't judge me by my writing. I'm a writer, remember?

Meet a man from California, United States. I am not going to transform my mate. Her lifestyle should match idealy mine. For example I like organic food and like fruits and vegetables occasionally meat and dairy.
I hate criticism but I love encouraging others. I am loving all the time do not scream swear or using foul language. My marriage partner should love the Scriptures and be a follower of Jesus Christ. She should recognize her husband as her head.(How many of those are out there?)
There are no other ways to happiness. She should be free to love and cherrish if she wants to be loved and cherished. There is no other way
to success.

Date a soulmate from United States. Charming, funny, sexy. I love to be with someone who love me. This is all I can say about my self. Hope to see more people who are interested in the same stuff as me. I love to be at vegas, partying all day

Meet single man from United States. All pictures taken 2010 or 2011.
Hopefully you are on here for the same reason I am, and that is to find a good new friend, and companion to share lives with, and have lots of fun doing it. Well easier said than done. We can create things to remember, as we are discovering our compatibility and personalities. My qualities, interests, knowledge, sensitivity, experiences, and the type of humor you are looking for in a man will be discovered as I am learning the same things from you, as we spend time with each other and communicate. A little, some can be learned in our profiles. Family is very important to me, and we can enjoy the fun of mixing the families. :-) We can mix our lifestyles together, and add even more dimensions.
Heath can be an issue at our age. I am in good health, but it could be better. Not on any heavy medication, but do take low dose blood pressure, and cholesterol medicine, however having stopped smoking and working on improving my diet, eating habits, and more exercise will help me eliminate the medication. Do you take any medications?
On the weekends I like to go somewhere, or have visitors. During the week I work, help others, run errors, take care of business, and animals, eat, visit with my companion (when I have one), and relax some watching a few TV shows such as, music talent reality, comedy, crime solving, educational, some sports, and news shows in the evening, sometimes put a little time in on the computer, and get some sleep. Weekends like to go to live music events, including powwows, sightseeing, including scenic drives, sports events, flea markets, including arts and crafts shows :-), and sometimes staying home and enjoying a day together, including some romance. Daily enjoy quiet times outside where we can hear Mother Nature speaking, and singing, and feel her heart beat as we admire her beauty.
As for back ground: Many different jobs over the years, starting at 8 with a Sacramento Bee rural paper route, and still working. Served in the U.S. Navy. Went into retail sales of stereo equipment, Store Managing, Consumer Electronics Buyer. Next spent 22 years doing all sorts of things in the Music Industry, including playing bass guitar and harmonicas in a variety of bands in Northern California. A new chapter in my life opened up and I began teaching and attending DQ University, a private Native American University in Northern California. Taught courses on Access to the Mass Media, and achieved an AA degree in Indigenous Studies at the same time. Developed an assortment of projects that helped Native American people in Northern California, while also putting in 20 years as a big rig truck driver. Passed some things over to the next generation, and only go to a few select Indian gatherings a year now. Want to retire from truck driving, and find a safer way of bringing in more income. Working on that now.
Part of my childhood was spent on an almost self-sufficient 5 acre farm in Orangevale Ca., across the River from Folsom, with my three brothers, mother, and grandpa, mom's dad. We had chickens, pigs, rabbits, milk cow, plow horse, dogs, cats, a big garden, and a variety of fruit trees. We boys got passed around a bit as parents changed partners before we went out on our own. Lived in some cities, but prefer country living. Have a son and a daughter with families doing great on their own.
I enjoy the simple things in life, am pretty laid back, but can step it up when I need to. I want to share lives with a good hearted, optimistic, positive thinking and acting, loving, affectionate woman that knows, or can help me figure out how to keep our best interests at heart, and us on our path being respectable, productive best friends, partners, and lovers. You want to talk to me, send me a message.

Meet people from United States. Humility and activity are my desired hallmarks. I attend my church regularly and participate in Bible studies. I enjoy regular golfing, swimming and walking along with many other activities.. God has been active in my life, forming in me gentleness, giving, affection and caring attributes . I'm blessed with athletic genes and am healthy. Most of my life in work and play has been outdoors. I've grown in my ability to love with transparency, please's and thank you's, gifts, flowers, cards and long conversations. I have a conservative world view and a thrifty lifestyle, am financially stable and enjoy dressing up in dinner dance situations. I desire a Christian relationship leading to a Christian marriage. My ideal first date might be at a local coffee shop getting to know one another and then make plans for our next date, perhaps a walk, a golf game, a dance, a happy hour, or your suggestion.

Date men and women from United States. I'm looking for a friend who can tolerate my diverse interests and hopefully find a few that she likes too. After a long and complex professional life I need to slow down and smell the flowers with a special person. She will be self reliant and uncompromising with her own interests. She likes to be spoiled rotten. She must love animals. An interest in art, painting or sculpture would be nice. It would be nice if she played guitar or other musical instrument but not a deal breaker. I have no idea what kind of a bio will attract the person that I imagine but here goes.
I have a degree in fine art and like to draw and paint. I have 47 years as an architect and still dabble in it part time to keep my license current. I am a full member of the American Institute of Architects. (AIA). I was project architect for some really large projects in San Diego, SD Hospice, Sea World Penguin Exhibit, SD Police Headquarters, National City Police Headquarters, SD Trolley Headquarters, Reuben Fleet Space Theater to name a few. I designed and built some of my own furniture and the rest are restored antiques. I run the wood shop at the railroad museum in Campo. I have a large telescope and enjoy astronomy. I have always been fascinated with particle physics. I follow professional bicycle racing and college basketball. I am not much of a world traveler but have been to the UK (Loved Scotland! Land of my great grand parents.) and Vietnam (at government expense and no fun.). I have been to most states in the US, usually chasing old trains.
I'm not bald I just find it easy to shave my head in the shower as it saves time and expense. I have dark hair with very little gray. My late wife liked the Yul Brenner look. I don't sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff.
I practice guitar, mandolin and banjo an hour a day. I used to play the fiddle but have not had time to stay with it. I played mandolin in a bluegrass band for years. I like to pick and sing. I'm active in several traditional music organizations in the San Diego area. I like both kinds of music: country and western. For Jazz I like Dave Brubeck and Dixieland. Pete Fountain and the late Al Hirt were my favorite Dixieland jazz men. Beethoven is the worlds all time greatest composer. I have the complete works.
I was born in San Diego and grew up in La Mesa and El Cajon. My family has all passed away except for an elderly aunt in Denver and sisters in law in Sedona, AZ, and Arkansas. I'm grateful for 43 years married to the finest woman I could ever imagine. She had a hysterectomy at an early age so no kids. Lost her to cancer in April, 2011, saddest day of my life.
I volunteer at the railroad museum about 30 hours a week. It's all hard work but great exercise. I restored my hometown railroad depot in the heart of La Mesa built in 1894. This is the time of my life when I need to give back to the community. I'm a damn good carpenter. I'm currently working on restoring the Campo depot built in 1916. Almost done!
I have several rescued cats to take care of. I have no resistance to puppies or kittens. I support several animal rescue organizations. I had an Afghan Hound for many years. His name was Nimbus as he was snow white. A super dog that I still miss.
Most of my friends are musicians, architects or railroaders. Most have been close friends for 40 years or more.
I have a large yard and garden to take care of and not doing too good of a job at it. At least my pets have a fun place to play.
I am a Tea Party conservative, a combat veteran and a patriot.
