Date a woman from California, United States. I'm a fun, easygoing woman who loves to travel. I enjoy art, camping, and exploring the world around me. I'm looking for someone with a good sense of humor who enjoys living life to the fullest. There's a lot more to me than I can fit into a few paragraphs. I guess you'll just have to email me so we can learn more about each other!
Meet men and women from California, United States. Some people say I look like Audrey Hepburn (I even have a bit of Holly Golightly in me, which means that not being a subscriber means you have to tell me where to find you - you'll need to be clever on this one. Or try this riddle using initial letters: "topology is foolish fun (the year Columbus landed) at your antiquated house of oddity. Chopin or Mozart?), slender and elegant, but underneath that veneer I think more like Emma Goldman, as in "if I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution." Basically, I'm politically very to the left, environmentally aware, and try to remain optimistic in these grim times.
I attempt to live each day as fully as possible and value people who generously help others to do the same. I lived/studied/worked in Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Paris and Hamburg so I'm comfortable living in other cultures. Traveled a lot in Europe as well. Been settled in San Francisco to raise my son, but now it's time to travel again, change directions literally and figuratively.
I am an arts maven: museums, galleries, symphony, chamber music, opera, dance. Love a broad range - Rembrandt, Klee, black and white photography (Kertesz, Brasssai), string quartets (Schubert, Bartok.)I am addicted to reading mostly biography and non-fiction, though some fiction - particularly short stories (Alice Munro). I am an excellent cook (vegetarian, mostly) but lean toward the Asian cuisines.
I also love to do outdoors activities: walking along the Pacific coast, hiking in Yosemite, kayaking on the Bay, gardening in my backyard, watching a meteor shower from a countryside hilltop.
Looking for someone who is more interested in: quality, than quantity. substance, than appearance. truth, than self-deception. An outrageous sense of humor is absolutely imperative. A good listener, someone who can compromise willingly, who would rather negotiate than fight. Can both laugh and cry shamelessly and fearlessly. Know how to give and take, revel in being alive, be thoughtful, live environmentally.
Date a soulmate from California, United States. I feel lucky that I have almost everything I wanted in life: a wonderful family,( two beautiful daughters and three grandchildren, few loyal friends I can lean on, a job and a
business that I enjoy ( I'm a landscape /interior
designer ) and I'm very happy and content.
However, there is a part of jigsaw missing and
that is someone to share my life with. And that
person is a kind African/American gentleman 6' tall
55-65 yrs old. A gentleman with substance ,
intergrity, financially emotionlly stable. (no baggage/drama) cultural, intellectual ;well
traveled. All I wanted is to love, to be loved
and mutual respect- Only sincere gentlemen need respond. Distance is not an issue I'm
flexible. I am attracted to intellectual men who
possess confidence, sophisication, and culture.
And above all else he must be a gentleman.
Meet people from California, United States. I am grateful to be alive. and so for my parents, who stressed the importance of education. I was lucky to have a great education, and go onto graduate school to study classical archaeology.
I am greatful for the love and time my husband and I had together. That was cut short after 2 years. Don had by-pass suegery one day. I did not see him again. That is a sorrow I will never forget.
I am gratefull for my childhood and growing up in the country. I was a free spirit and my parents encouraged to be so.
I have three sisters, me being number two. We had horses and rode them all the time.
My two younger sisters took their horses with them when they went to bording school in Arizona. At that time I was schooling at the University of Arizona. I studied anthropolgyand photography. I received my B.A. there.
After college I worked for a major brokerage firm in Tucson. I was there for 6 years--transferred to Sacramento where I hepled open a new branch office. I was the Operations Manager there. I was then transferred to the San Francicso office where I earned my brockerage license. I was a stockbroker there until I moved to Sacramento and got married.
Date someone special from California, United States. I know longer think in terms of having a specific type.I would enjoy sharing beautiful moments and am not thinking of an imagined future but rather the present. I have pursued the arts in my life as well as understanding myself and the universe. The present will take care of the future. I am interested in artistic pursuits and spiritual communication and am not interested in the" bourgois life" rather in the unexpected and unusual. I would welcome beatiful moments shared with an interesting and sensitive man.
Meet a woman from United States. Do we share these things? Liberal politics, family love, loyal friends, pleasure in learning something new, playing hard, open to joy, arthouse films, road trips, Motown to Classical, no such thing as too much fun...
Date men and women from United States. Hmm. It seems as if everyone on Match sail their own boats, fly their own planes, ski, snowboard, hang glide, scuba dive, scale mountains, bike, hike endless trails for endless miles and travel the world extensively. To put it simply, I don't do any of this, but I am a good sport and a great cheerleader for you. I don't drink unless I know you really well because I become obliterated after one glass and I haven't been on a public dance floor in over 30 years. However, I don't really care if you watch sports, leave the toilet seat up or play loud music. Other than my cynical attitude towards the world and politics, I'm pretty easy going and down to earth and don't require a lot of maintenance. I'm happy hanging with friends, taking the occasional weekend road trip; I like the desert, the mountains, lying on the beach smelling the ocean, lounging by the pool, and the sound of wind chimes. I love music and movies and the occasional play or concert. Like all sports except football. I especially love food - eating it or cooking it, or experiencing it at some local ethnic resarurant. I haven't eaten red meat since my 20's. I do Pilates, Yoga and some weight training to keep limber and flexible so I can still bend over when I'm an old lady, but I'm not obsessed. I'd just as soon skip the gym to go to breakfast. My home is brightly colored and somewhat cluttered and it seems I've retained a lot of the spirit and ideals of my '60's youth. I was born in New York, raised in L.A., moved to San Francisco in my 20's and landed on the Peninsula to raise my kids. I've lived in San Carlos and Redwood City and now I'm getting used to living in Mountain View. I love all the humor and ironies that go on around me. I can't live without music. I would adore a man with an open mind who still feels young, and has the ability to smell the roses - especially one who can make me laugh, who gets me and who can make me funny, or who I can make funny if ya know what I mean. I'm looking for a buddy/lover who likes and accepts me - with all my good and bad qualities, my strange humor and my occasional falls from earth. I, of course, will return the favor. Must love animals. Being able to fix things and still see at night is a plus. If you need a referral or a character reference, I can always give you the number of my shrink.
