I want to experience all that the central and west coast has to offer; the back roads, the wine tasting, the dining, the concerts and the water fronts. The kitchen has always been a comfortable place for me, participating in the preparations of meals is seen as an essential part of doing life together. I still maintain a wild hair of youthful spontaneity, playfulness and unpredictability. Laughter is important and I try to find as much of it through the day as possible. Raised to believe in treating a woman w/ respect, I have always understood the value of opening doors, pulling out chairs, the unexpected gift or bouquet all the while embracing and encouraging her independence. Ultimately the sharing of life’s joys, tasks and responsibilities w/ another is sought.
Women who are intelligent, athletic and have spunk have always attracted me. Getting lost in conversation, making a long car ride seem short or missing the start of a movie is welcomed. If you’re looking for a tattooed, NASCAR, Harley type, I don’t fit that mold. A bit of a maverick I have walked to the beat of a different drummer all my life. My vision allows me to look at things a little differently and ask why so many follow the beaten path without questioning the conventional wisdom of it all. My compassion has made me a loving and devoted father to my two young daughters and a good companion.
I have always been competitive and participated in athletics of one type or another. Great delight is taken in beating up on guys half my age on the basketball court, feeling like a young lion again…until the following day when my knees remind me that I’m well into my forties. While I would like to consider myself on the intellectual side of the continuum, the older I get and the more I learn and experience, the more I realize how much there is to learn and experience.
Professionally I work with primarily at risk young teens. It fills my cup. At times equal parts heart ache and joy. It is tremendously satisfying knowing you can make a difference.
Guilty pleasures include but not limited to Novo, Via Creek, Artisans, Kai Lana's, Crazy Sushi Fever, reserve merlots and zins, lit fireplaces, Dexter, Californiacation, Weeds,TrueBlood.

I like to think outside of myself and not to dwell to much on any trial in my life, though do not run from any trial that comes my way. I enjoy hiking a steep, long trail; volleyball, cycling and snow skiing. I'm competitive in life and in sports. More: I focus on living in the present but the planner in me sometimes wins the day. In a typical month you’ll likely find me hiking in Marin or the Berkeley area. I'm in Marin and the city frequently for hiking and social events. I also attend the symphony, theater and enjoy discovering a new winery or two. I have been a cyclist since my teens and still enjoy the energy, speed and sense of accomplishment from the sport.
Following college I founded a business and the professional rewards are countless. I play well with most, however, particularly those that have a mission to improve the lives of others. Actually, intelligent conversation is one of the things I like best. I consider myself an open-minded thinker. I read quite a bit as a way to keep growing intelctually,emotionally, and spiritually. I've traveled all over the world (except Asia) and meet all kinds of people in my work, so that helps me bring something interesting to the table - but I relish the ooportunity to listen to and learn from others, as well.
