Due to the flexibility of my work, I’ve been able to spend about 1 1/2 years in Spain and Mexico over the past several years where I studied Spanish and lived with local families. One of my favorite things was strike out by foot, metro, or bus seeking an interesting cafe or coffee shop. Here at home, I like to road trip around California to find beaches, rivers, lakes and towns I’ve never seen before. I do my work in coffee shops like Blue Bottle, Ritual, and Four Barrel where the espresso is super good. I love a warm beach, though it’s hard for me to just sit. There is nothing like a jog along the coast, followed by a dip in the ocean, then an espresso in a cafe. (I miss this from Barcelona!) I love my pitbull rescue dog. I’m a big dog guy, but I never thought I’d end up with a pitbull. Now they’re my favorite. I have an 11-year-old godson who I consider my own son because his dad has never been around. He brings me much joy. I’m fairly well read, and in the past I used to study many spiritual books, including books on Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, the complete Bible, and even Islam. I no longer “quest” so much as I seem to have settled comfortably into a philosophy of balance and moderation in things, of not becoming too attached to any specific ideas, and of not taking any phase in life too seriously (whether good or bad) since circumstances are always changing. I think I’m pretty understanding and thoughtful. I’m good at talking things through and hearing where others are coming from. I hope to meet someone who is optimistic by nature, takes life as it comes, and is adventurous. I’m not looking for perfection.

Another thing I actually like to do and don't have a problem being honest and admitting it is that I enjoy shopping. The mall can be a great outlet after a stressful day at work.
