Date someone special from California, United States. 4000 characters to describe myself??? Maybe I am the only one that finds it awkward describing yourself, but I would think that a few short paragraphs would be enough for most. Oh well, here it goes...
I am divorced from a long term marriage, which, beyond popular belief, isn't as bad as it sounds. Now before you make any snap judgements about divorced men, I would like to point out an important fact: I am emotional available and have no lingering issues with my past. =-)
I have three beautiful daughters that I see on a regular basis, ages 16, 14 and 8. I live in Vallejo on the waterfront overlooking Glen Cove marina and work in Martinez for a large electrical contractor as a superintendent/project manager. My job can be demanding at times but it also offers the challenges that keep life interesting. I enjoy keeping myself in shape and spend time daily exercising. I also enjoy golf, cooking and wine tasting (love Napa).
Although it might not be obvious from my photos, I am bald. Just wanted to get that out in the open from the beginning. It wasn't entirely by choice but I've been told it works well for me. =-)
I am looking to meet someone that is stable, intelligent, secure, and has a great sense of humor. Someone that enjoys spending time together whether it's going out for dinner, doing outdoor activities or staying in for a home cooked meal (I won't brag, but I CAN cook). =-)
Thanks for taking the time to read my profile, if interested, feel free to contact me.
PS- My pics are current and I've been told I look exactly like my pics (except better looking in person of course... just kidding)
Meet men and women from California, United States. Hi, I am a good friend, good listener, respect what others believe. I am looking for someone friendly and respectful for others, educated in general, likes to travel, down to earth, and fun to be with. Date people from California, United States. Hmmm. I’m not one that’s into a lot of self introspection. I play it like I see it. I’m a loyal friend and a passionate lover, outspoken about my beliefs, but that doesn’t mean I can’t see your point of view (I love a good debate).
I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve. I don’t pull too many punches and I don’t suffer fools gladly. I’m sarcastic, you have to like that or we will never get along.
Sometimes I’m the life of the party and sometimes I’m the guy who says the thing everyone is thinking (but isn’t saying).
I’m a geek at heart, an introverted extrovert. I talk to myself and laugh about it.
Meet a man from California, United States. OK, just just browsing my supposed "matches"... and something struck me. Is long hair on a guy just the worst thing ever? Is that really the biggest turn off there is? Not poverty, lying, being obnoxious, or smelling bad?
I swear in 99.9% of the profiles on here, if ANYTHING is listed under turn-offs at all, it's long hair... nothing else.
I have noticed that hippie bashing is tre-cool these days (I blame punk rock and Eric Cartman), but I am not a "hippie", (actually, I don't think any REAL ones exist under the age of 50-something anyway), the hair is more of a metal/Conan the Barbarian thing for me (hmmm, I may be answering my own question here).
So even if I turned out to be one of the funniest, most unique, interesting, talented, nice smelling, and just all around coolest guys ever ('cuz, actually, I am, especially the smell thing) , none of that would matter because my hair is past my shoulders huh? I'm ranting aren't I?
Alright, now that Ive completely alienated the vast majority of you, ON WITH THE BS... uhhh, I mean PROFILE!
I suppose my better qualities are my sense of humor, an insatiable intellectual curiosity (I get interested in just about everything at one time or another... except talentless "celebrities"), and the fact that I can lift very heavy objects when properly motivated. I am gainfully employed as a web developer, have my own car, a decent apartment (s'roomy anyway), and a 14 (...geez, is that right? NOPE, she's 17 now) year old daughter who reminds me that humanity is far from a lost cause. I have a weakness for women who think they're smarter than everyone in the room, but have no desire to prove it to anyone in particular. I'm a sucker for nice hair (but have no length or color preference ;-P) and expressive eyes (you know, the whole smoky, smoldering thing), but beauty is so subjective it's hard to describe "my perfect match". Besides, have you ever noticed how the way people look tends to change as you get to know them? Not being very into superficial relationships (I suppose I could learn though) or one-nighters (again, everything is negotiable...heh), I'm looking for someone to inspire me, to have far ranging and somewhat self righteous conversations with, and well, I'm just looking to make a real connection with an interesting woman.
Seems this is a tall order, or is that just cause I don't have a picture posted? ...hello? (Yeah, the pic thing is a big one aint it)
Wrote this a couple years ago now, and I'd have to say the answer is... YES, it IS the worst thing ever apparently...

Date someone special from United States. Moving to Los Angeles has been great, lots of new wonderful friends, but finding time to meet someone I want to spend time with has been difficult. I'm not looking for a hookup but if your interested in meeting a relatively great, cool laid back but social guy who likes to have fun, and appreciates the joys of life, I'm the one. I like strong minded woman, who's not afraid to state their opinion, has an interesting/fun side but may have a slightly darker hidden side. If you hit that bill, then we can have some fun!

Date people from United States. I'm lookin to get out and share some experiences. Too much time is wasted in worrying about what didn't get done today and what might happen tomorrow. Let's get out and enjoy the now:). " You get what you put in & people get what they deserve.Still I ain't seen mine. I've been giving & just ain't getting nothing." I am like the Red Tail Hawk. When looking to the human beside whom Red Hawk flies, this is quite significant, for it indicates that the Red Feathers are not easily given, and must instead be earned over time.
Yet once this fundamental energy unfurls as the Red Tail Feathers emerge, the beauty and depth of Spirit that shines brilliantly forth, will be both inspiration and guidance for Others who may be just beginning, or in the process of, their own awakening.
I have had many a Hawk flying near, for the Hawk will soar beside the Two-Legged whose own gift of vision is exceptionally acute.
I have accepted the gift this Totem, and have been knighted as a Guardian and Protector of the Earth Mother and all her Children. I possess an astute awareness of the interconnectedness of all things, and have an inner reverence for all life.
I am comitted in making the world a better place. I am but one of theprotectors of the Earth, encouraging and educating Others to do the same.
Will you join me?

Meet a soulmate from United States. Looking for something real? Me, too – I’m seeking a good woman to have a meaningful relationship filled with laughs and great experiences, and to hopefully have a happy future together. Ideally you’re a woman that’s passionate about something, grounded and naturally curious.
It’s a plus if you enjoy exploring the city and the outdoors, are excited about traveling, discovering new restaurants, take in everything that SF’s great street festivals have to offer, don’t bore easily in museums, and have a lot of different interests (like myself). Meaningful conversation and being able to make people laugh are both a huge plus.
Characteristics that I appreciate in a woman are intelligence, independence, depth, honesty, open-minded, creative, curiosity, emotional stability and a good nature. Things I’m not a fan of are submissiveness, lying, flakiness, selfishness and mind games. Communication is key in any good relationship, so hopefully you’re a woman that knows how to say what’s on your mind and is able to work through differences constructively. And just being honest, having a naughty streak is a plus as long as it’s not combined with a crazy streak. ;-)
As for myself, I’m a naturally curious guy with diverse interests, and am content hiking in the outdoors in the afternoon and then dressing up for the opera. Rainy days cuddled up under a blanket watching movies are just fine with me as well. My biggest joy right now is sailing, largely because of the sense of freedom and peace it gives me – a nice change from my tech career. My job doesn’t define me – life is far too short to be spent in an office – it needs to be enjoyed and experienced. In my eyes, life isn’t about how much stuff you collect along the way, it’s the experiences you have, the friends that you make, and hopefully the joys that can be shared with a great woman.
Some of my other interests include snowboarding, baseball (go Giants!), ancient history, travelling, movies, the outdoors, foodie events like Off The Grid, and more. In the past I’ve done a lot of camping, took guitar lessons, and was into indoor rock climbing, all things I enjoyed. In my free time I also help a SF-based non-profit that serves at-risk and disadvantaged youth in the community. Bar-hopping into the wee hours is not interesting to me, although I do really enjoy exploring new restaurants and bars with friends where we can chill, talk and have some laughs. Family is also really important to me, and I travel to be with them every Christmas.
Ultimately I’m seeking an equal, a best friend, and a confidant. Chemistry and that special spark are important, and often there’s no way to predict where we’ll find it. So give it a shot and say hi, what do you have to lose?
