Oh...and I am so very bad at taking "posed" photos. I always have been as evidence of my high school yearbook pictures! I'm sure many men and women say they take terrible pictures, but I'm not lying about it...and I'll prove it to you when you get to meet me. I'll even bring my yearbooks as evidence that will prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt!! :)
I was told by a female friend to mention my "skills" in the kitchen and on the grill. I'm not a professional or anything like that...I just enjoy cooking and I really love to grill...and if I wasn't so humble and demur, I'd go on and on and on about it...
I prefer winks to emails, just to start with. A wink to me is like you and I checking each other out across the room...both of us thinking what we'd like to do to each other, and each of us hoping that the other isn't a whack-job/stalker/jerk-off :) Emails are too complex and God forbid you don't say something perfect...that's just me though. Plus, if you're not interested in me, you're not going to reply to an email anyways so why waste my time on an email, trying to impress you. Seems you have to write a perfect story about yourself, or sell yourself...This would be hard for me for I don't believe in tricking someone to like me. I want to like and be liked for what is in front of you; at the same time how are you going to get to know me or say hey this guy is different than the others so we can even get to the way it should be; meet in person to see if we click or not.
I read other profiles and everyone says the same thing more less painting a perfect picture; were human so their is no perfection but another person who can handle or understand the in-perfection.
Look I am here like you in hopes to find that right connection, I also know the past is the past and now is now. I know it isn't a perfect world because of my faith in God, and I have kids I only see 2 times a year because of my military duty and decisions and consequences I had to learn lessons from.
I come up with fun ideas, and I like doing things for people and especially who I am interested in. I am a one woman type of guy, I really try to understand the person I am with and there is no way I can give all of me to more than one plus it takes away what a relationship can be. I am willing to be the best man I can as long as you are not the type to kick me when I am down.
Are you the woman who can love me in time, based from a good friendship from care, concern, understanding, support, and really care about my well being and appreciate a good laugh and able to give in or meet in the middle of things that seem different to you or not of a way your use too? I am willing but I know it takes two to do so.
So how about a start, something simple to test the waters by meeting for the first time at a coffee shop and a walk on the beach, park, or just sit and talk; see if we want to pursue a second time to see each other. Let's just see, we have nothing now what is there to lose...nothing...But what if something unexpected comes from it?

Me: A mixed bag of contradictions I guess: I love traveling but hate tourist destinations. I get along with everybody but I'm very picky who I share my life with. I think Gaudi was a genius but I hope the yellow cranes never leave Sagrada Familia. I'm addicted to caffeinated sodas but I never drink Coke since my money doesn't support big brands. Sometimes I spend weekends backpacking in the mountains but visit Michelin places on the way home, even when there is nothing wrong with my tires. My favorite movies are witty film noir but the shallowest chick flicks make me cry. An invisible pink unicorn lives under my bed but my only pet is the Schrodinger's cat. I took part in the Saffron Revolution but I hope freedom to them doesn't mean 7-eleven in every corner. Watching the water rushing through Tiger Leaping Gorge gives me goose bumps but so does someone touching my forearm. I'm an adrenaline junkie but my diet could use a bit more endorphins.
You: Interesting and energetic. You don't have to google what argumentum ad ignorantiam is and carpe diem is your every day. Sometimes you get close to your VO2max and maybe "hydrate" afterwards with a nice glass of wine.

I have two amazing kids and I share custody 50/50. When I'm with my two kids, I love spending time with whether it is coaching their teams, at home reading, or mini-vactions to their favorite places.
Though I wish I had my kids 100%, I try to make the best of my "off" time. I like to get out and do things have a dinner with friends, take my dog to the park, or go see a movie. I really enjoy going for a good walk, a mountain bike-ride, or a run.
I am fortunate to work in education for the past 15 years, as both a school psychologist and as a special education director.

I don't follow sports, sorry! However, I will watch a game with you or even go to a live sporting event. It just means I don't know scores, stats, players names, good offensive and defensive lines, etc.. I metal detect on occasion at the beach and yes I would love to find a treasure ship, laden with Gold, but I'm not hanging my hopes of that occurring. I enjoy watching movies, but I don't watch TV. I love culture, so if you speak foreign languages that's a plus and I'm open to any culture, especially if your culture is warm, loving and has great food! Physically, I'm attracted to women who have slender/athletic builds, more of a sporty woman as I'm not a big person myself. I very much want to be with someone who is witty, intelligent, sexy and who will dress up and down. Also, someone who can rock a bikini at the beach or lounge in capri's and be just as sexy.
I love women with long hair but I understand that change is necessary and is good. It's just a personal preferance, nothing mandatory. I like people to be happy with themselves, that's key. Financial security is important to me, so if your 100k in credit card debt and cannot make your car payment because going to the bar is more important then please don't look my direction. I'd prefer a mate who can take care of themselves, but still see's the value of a man.
Also, if you have no capacity to cook or at least try then it's no bueno for me.
Some other thoughts of what I like: Loving people, if you have no love for yourself or anyone else, please don't hang your hopes on me as you need to work on yourself before considering a relationship. So other characteristics I enjoy: compassion and affectionate people. If you don't like being touched or are perpetually angry, I'm not your man. I want my woman to walk in the door and want a hug, kiss and share her day with me. Last note, if you agree to go out with me and I do not care who initiates the conversation, all expenses are Dutch Treat. Im looking to break away from my successful job, life, and general stuff to have some fun and see where it goes. For example, it would be fun to have someone to bike ride on weekends, do P90X in the morning for at least two weeks, take to watch football in Encinitas, workout with at 24 hr fatness in Cbad, and try new sushi bars occasionally.
