I've been on the lookout for "the one" since I was old enough to know what that meant, and I don't think I've done a very good job of stopping to smell the roses along the way. Now, I'm suddenly in a great place in my life where I have great friends to hang out with and an interesting job that keeps me from being broke. :-)
When I'm not working, I'm out with friends (I also have a venue or two that I tend to hang out at alone), or at a pool, or at home with a movie playing or music blasting, or taking my dog to the park, or dealing with the house and the yard. I'm a pretty big conservationist and I'm always trying to figure out how to do more with less, even though I don't have to anymore. The amount of useless stuff I know is pretty scary sometimes, and to some people my logic process and/or philosophy is as well, but I pass for "normal" about 98 percent of the time. I'm not the sports fanatic I was when I was younger, but there are are still a few things that I pretty much refuse to miss: my beloved Razorbacks and Chargers during the fall, Formula One races early on Sunday mornings, and the biggest horse races--especially on Saturdays in the spring. I don't know that everything I do is wildly interesting, but I do know that there aren't enough hours in the day for all of it. You can read more about what interests me below, but I'm sure I managed to leave plenty out.
While I'd still like to find the love of my life, I'm simply not going to turn down good offers that don't quite include that. I am very pragmatic and pretty darn honest, if I do say so myself. The only time I would ever come even reasonably close to hurting someone in a relationship would be if they absolutely could not accept the fact that I didn't think we were compatible.
If I'm attracted to you and you know how to have a good time, but also have at least *some* idea how to act in public, I'd be interested in meeting you. As for the long term: I already have some pretty terrific female friends, so I definitely need somebody pretty sensational if I'm going to be in a relationship. But I'd still love to be.
