Date a guy from Tempe, United States. I am a native to the valley having also lived in Tucson, San Diego, and New York. In the end I came back to Phoenix for family, friends, and lack of a winter. I am currently working in the education department of a local museum while I work on a masters in education to be able to teach high school physics.
I truly believe that fun is what you make of it. If I have great company then fun will naturally occur. Usually my friends and I will hang out at a house, go hiking, play volleyball or softball at parks, watch the dogs run around at bark parks, or go to local dive bars. I am an avid reader and I also enjoy watching movies. I appreciate great movies but I find horrible movies more fun to watch, especially with a group of people.
When I need or want to get away I like to get over to San Diego where I know enough people to couch surf or throw my tent in my truck and drive North.
I don't really have a "type" that I look for in women but I have come to realize that if a woman types, writes, or talks like she is text messaging on a 2002 Nokia phone then she's not my type. It's easier for me to write 50 pages on a science or technology topic than it is for me to write a couple of paragraphs about myself so ask me any questions that you might have and I'll gladly answer them.

Before moving to Phoenix last summer, I lived in quite a few places. I grew up in Southern California (Orange County), went to college in St. Louis, spent a summer doing a college internship in Chicago, and then moved to the DC area after college and worked there as a Financial Analyst for 4 years. The Southwest, however, has always been my favorite part of the country, and I intend on staying in Phoenix after I finish my MBA next May.
I'm mature (yet silly), passionate (I believe in reversing the flow of the stream rather than waiting to be pushed over the waterfall), kind (although I have a witty sense of humor so you'd better be able to keep up!), and loyal. Even though I am driven when it comes to working and accomplishing my goals, I live by the saying at the top of my profile and do not take life too seriously. I laugh during the good times and laugh harder during the bad times, and I'm the type of person who would playfully berate you for giving the dog too much food while slipping the dog a few extra scraps of food when you're not looking :).
With that said, I'd love to meet someone who loves Arizona as much as I do and is excited about taking advantage of all that the area has to offer (this includes hiking/biking through the rugged desert hills, going to a comedy club, going to a sports game, going to a museum/performace, taking a spontaneous weekend trip to Sedona (or Antelope Canyon or the Grand Canyon or many other possibilities), engaging in witty banter at a coffee shop, and staying in and enjoying a bottle of wine while watching a movie...to name a few things).
I believe in keeping an open-mind and am not a fan of lists, but she should be someone who was raised well and does not take herself too seriously. Oh, and the girl she once was should be proud of the woman she has become. Could she be you?

Date men and women from Tempe, United States. Most of my friends, those that really know me, tell me that I'm a member of that dying breed of genuinely good, nice guys. I don't always see that, but I try. More importantly, I think it's important for people to make their own decisions about people based off of what they know and not just what others tell them.
To be honest, there's not much I can really say that wouldn't be better learned about me in time, a few disclaimers though: I LOVE sports, playing them and watching them. I can tend to be pretty competitive, but I love playing baseball and hockey, and I make no apologies for that. Sports are a passion, I'm a sports info junkie and I plan to make a career (I won't call it a job because if you love what you do for a living, it will never be "work") in sports some way or another.
I'm a New England kid at heart and a die-hard Boston fan and I'm all about the Sox, Pats and Bruins.
To be honest and fair to myself though, I'm deeper than that, I have a ton of interests outside of sports. I love music, movies, and learning new things, just to name a few.
I'll take a night in watching a movie or a night out at a favorite watering hole just as soon, if not sooner, than a trip to some crazy club.
I love my family and friends and take pride in the fact that I'm extremely loyal to the people that are close to me.
I love to laugh, and I love to make people laugh (warning, I find my degrees of success at that vary from person to person, be prepared for a lot of failed attempts, and as far as crossing that imaginary line, depending on where yours is, it's entirely possible I haven't seen that line in about 11 years.)
As far as this "who/what are you looking for?" thing? Yeah, all I can really say is: I'll let you know when I see it. There's no magic or secret formula, it's just a feeling. As Kung Fu Panda puts it: There is no secret ingredient.
I speak in a lot of metaphor, comparison and quotation, again, I make no apologies for this.
Don't be fooled, I'm smarter than I'll usually let on, if I'm comfortable around you, or if someone bugs me enough, I'll let on just how smart that really is. That's how I am about a lot of the traits I'm proud of.
But really, I think it's better if you ignore most of this and find out for yourself and make your own judgment.
