However, whitewater kayaking is a little too extreme even for my tastes. Having grown up in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes and also having lived in So Cal, I just can't get quite used to being a landlocked desert dweller. I'm known for my friendly outgoing personality and ease in any social situation. I have eclectic tastes in music, enjoy a wide variety of ethnic foods and periodically have the need to get lost for hours in a museum or art gallery. Over the years I've done well on my own, but desire the joys and comfort of long-term companionship in all my future life experiences.

. I am a beautiful woman, inside and out. I am living my dream (as a singer/songwriter and music director) and loving every minute of it. I am not especially physically active at this stage in life, but I do like to ride my bike in the morning and take the occasional short walk in nature. I grew up as the oldest in a family of six. Most of my family is back East (New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Ohio). I ventured out west after two years of grieving the loss of my husband in 2002. Being out West, away from the family of origin, has helped me to mature and get a handle on who I am in this world, what I have to contribute, and creating life-long friendships with other women who have ventured out west for similar reasons. I have purposefully remained unattached for several years now as my younger years were spent pleasing the opposite sex and trying to make myself good enough to love. I now know I am enough and I matter.
I feel it is time for me to reconnect with men and to see if there may be another match for me. I will be a very slow starter, just to let you know! Although I work in a church (music director), my spirituality is much more expansive than any formal religion can nurture. I am sober, clean, and a nonsmoker. I love life and know I have a long, exciting adventure before me - whether on my own or eventually in partnership.
