Meet a man from United States. Looking for a down to earth soulmate who is somewhat educated, easy going and likes adventure. I'm looking for someone who would and could travel ,who likes hiking, boating, movies, dining out, dancing and is a social drinker and is good company. I'd like to meet some one who is big on fitness and with very little baggage from past relationships gone bad if possible.

Meet single man from United States. It is my intention to be as honest and revealing as I can be. It’s a long way from here to really knowing someone. So I’ll try to paint a picture of myself, and hope some part of it resonates. Spiritual, physical, and musical have long been the 3 major areas of my life…
I’ve been a practicing Hindu for over 40 years. I do ritual worship and meditate every morning. Most days I sit again in the afternoon. My spiritual practice is the centerpiece of my life. It is deep and rich and real. I believe in a spiritual reality underlying everything.
I’ve been physical as far back as I can remember. I was a race walker in LA for years. When I lived in a small apartment, I had to choose between a dining table and a weight bench. I chose the weight bench, then sat on it to eat…
These days I work out with a personal trainer twice a week at the Racquet Club. There’s a group of 3-4 friends (all seniors) who train together. We’re all fit and strong. I stretch pretty much every day and hiking is my favorite thing in the world to do. It’s not a good week for me if I don’t get out on some trail at least once.
I’ve had a great career in the music business. I toured and recorded with Linda Ronstadt in the 60’s. We had a major hit, toured the country, played the Johnny Carson show and opened for The Doors.
In the 70s I toured playing upright bass with Doc Watson and his son Merle. Living legends of American Folk Music.
In LA, I opened one of the premier acoustic music venues in the country, and ran it for 7 years. McCabe’s Guitar Shop in Santa Monica. It’s still open today, 42 years later, my legacy to the city that put my music on the radio and gave me a career.
I’m still an active musician and think I’m writing and playing the best music of my life now. My current band plays regularly around town. It’s the best singing band I’ve ever been in. If you write to me I'll send you to our website where you can hear 3 complete songs from our first CD, including one Linda sings with us.
I married once, late in life, and it lasted 13 years. It ended about 8 years ago. Since then I’ve dated very little, but was in one relationship for almost a year. I made some close friends. But mostly, I’ve been on my own, cautiously optimistic.
So all this brings me here. The details of the past are not so important. They are colorful to fill in the picture. But it’s what we have done with the past, who we are today that matters. My friend N the Buddhist keeps reminding me of that.
My celebrity was minimal, and had a great deal to do with the people I played with. It doesn’t make me special. It does mean that I have a lot of great stories to tell at parties…
I think relationship, loving and being loved is for most people, the best and healthiest way to live. Certainly the most fun. I hope to connect with someone who is living a fit and active life style already. Perfection would be if she also loved to hike. She would have a sense of the spiritual and also think I was funny. She would be passionate about her life today, and be open and willing to start something new. She’d believe that her best days are still in front of her…
So I leave you with the words of my friend and favorite local poet Dana D…
On the Lines
Beloved, I've hidden in the trees,
rested in the shadows,
taken refuge in the caves.
But now I'm standing
on the painted lines
of Your highway...
run
me
over.
. Not sure how my friends would describe me. Guess I'll have to ask them. I'm loyal and positive and respect their feeling and thoughts. I have a good sense of humor and really enjoy the time I spend with my friends and family.
My most enjoyable times are those spent with my friends on our motorcycle trips and my hunting/camping/fishing trips with my son.
I'm not the clingy, whiney, needy type (if those are all real words) and it doesn't bother me to spend time alone. It would be nice to meet some who likes to laugh, has the same interests as mine which I listed in the first part of my profile.
I admire someone who is honest, positive and enjoys getting out and doing things.
. Iam a happy person, I don;t get upset at the
speed bumps in life.Enjoy life no one gets out
alive.I enjoy spending time with friends and family.
living in the White mountains in the summer and
Fishing and riding a quad.sitting on the back pourch
reading and watching the wildlife.that is paradise.
Would like someone special to share it with.
. To start with, I'm a recently retired engineer and have been a widower for 3 1/2 years. I'm not looking to get re-married, at least not yet, but I do miss the warmth of a female companion to do things and go places with. I like music, arts/crafts and live theater and concerts better that movies in general. There are a lot of places in this country that I haven't visited but would like to. My friends would say that I'm easy going and somewhat reserved and treat women with the respect they deserve. I make it a point to treat everyone with respect whether they are strangers, service people or friends. I consider myself politically conservative but also compassionate to those genuinely in need or less fortunate. The woman I would like to meet should have similar interests and qualities. My greatest joy right now is visiting my two daughters and five grandchildren who live out of state.
. I am laid-back, retired, with a myriad of interests, and interested in learning new things. I have been considered nice-looking, with a good (dry) sense of humor. I am looking for a partner who shares some of the same interests (e.g., photography) and who has her own interests that she is looking to share. I view relationships as equality, with neither partner dominating.
How about some ground rules in the spirit of moving things forward. If you are outside my age range it's probably not going to work. Are your pictures relatively recent? Pictures of your pets, house, family don't count. Nor does a photo of you taken a half-mile away. If you live more than a few miles from Scottsdale, that is likely to be a problem.
If you read my profile carefully you will note that I'm really not into travel, dancing, golf, mountain climbing, etc.
