I'm in my 50th year here in Scottsdale so do have a tendency to reminisce about places around Phoenix and Scottsdale from years past as well as telling stories related to Arizona history. Have driven every highway and been to every town in our beautiful state!
34 years of distance running, however the fun Marathon days are over, so these days it's simply short distances every morning. Hiking comes in 2nd with beautiful desert trails in the Winter then green forest's at high altitudes in the summer.

Date someone special from United States. If one looked at life as a fable...say the "tortoise and the hare..." (remember that?), I would be the tortoise. Knowing the goal, knowing the path I need to accomplish the goal, and executing the plan. While the hare, who is many times faster than the tortoise, loses focus, and strays too often, leaves the door open for the tortoise to win the race by a step. This is how I view myself, someone who stays the course.
My social life consists of dinners out and exchanging lunch with a buddy of mine once a month. I exchange an occasional visit with one or some of my children and grandchildren. I may be a conservative republican, but my best friends are liberals, and I enjoy inviting them over for dinner and cards. I’m not someone, and have never been someone, who likes to hang out at a bar with guys. My favorite place to be would be in my home with my dog Vinny, for now.
I enjoy traveling, not to learn about many cultures, but to focus on one or two. Italy would be my prominent country of choice. I would enjoy the beach destinations of Mexico and the Mexican culture. I have not been to the Caribbean or to the New England states, or many other places in America that would be on my list of places to learn about and visit. Some of my favorite quick trips to make are to Las Vegas, Laughlin, Sedona, and Flagstaff.
I have played a lot of sports in my life...today I enjoy pro-football season...so I can see my beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. I was born and raised outside of Pittsburgh. The other sport I enjoy is pro golf, particularly if Phil Mickelson is playing. I also look forward to attending the Phoenix Open in Scottsdale.
My hobbies include Cooking and Gardening. I have been passionnate about cooking Italian food for many years. I am best known for my lasagnas and sauce. Gardening brings me just as much joy. From planting to harvesting.
Grateful is a word which I identify with...from being the son of a factory worker in western Pennsylvania, and being raised in a very challenging life, and being able to come to Arizona at age 17...was the most important decision of my life. That is when my other blessings engulfed me, from graduating with a college degree to finding love with a young woman and having 5 children and now 7 grandchildren with 2 on the way. My blessings have been many, including a reasonably successful career in R.E. developing/construction. Now that I am retired, I am looking for a companion, a partner to talk with, travel with, lunch with, and spend a good amount of time with.

My idea of a relationship could be described as a companion, partner, love interest, one who enjoys being comfortable with her financial security as I am mine. Marriage would be a serious discussion with me.
