I don't have a specific relationship goal at the moment, I guess I'm looking for someone to be my "icing" who can also let me be theirs. I mean, isn't the sweetest, most satisfying part of a cake the icing? I try to live life to its fullest. I'm fun loving, spontaneous and sometimes unpredictable. I love laughing, making others laugh, and spending time with family and friends. People describe me as "young" for my age. I have a good fashion sense, I'm active and I take care of myself.
I would like to meet someone who enjoys going out to dinner, movies, dancing, hiking, walking etc., but who is also willing to enjoy an occasional quiet evening in. I love the outdoors; hunting, boating, fishing, camping, motorcycle riding, walking and hiking etc. It would be nice to meet someone who shares at least some of these interests, but could also introduce me to a few new interests. I'm always open to expanding my horizons..
If you have children, I'm a firm believer they should come first in your life. Though my daughter is grown and married, I love children and I have a deep respect for people who don't allow anyone to take precedence over, or come between them and their children.
The first thing I notice about a woman is her eyes. Probably because I believe they can tell us a lot about the person behind them. I believe they're the windows to our souls and I love making eye contact when I talk to someone.
I believe relationships have to be 100/100 not 50/50. Each partner has to give 100%. If either gives less, the relationship is doomed to eventual failure. I also believe there has to be chemistry for special relationships to develop.
Like I said earlier, I'm not here for any particular relationship goal. Sure, I would love to eventually find that special someone to share life's memorable moments with, but if we don't have that type of spark, I'm also capable of being a very good, dependable and loyal friend. I'm already in the "friend zone" with some very wonderfol ladies and I'm perfectly happy being there and have proven to them I have no hidden agendas.
Please, above all, don't pretend to be something you aren't. The act won't last and the real you will eventually shine through. I'm a nice, genuine guy and I don't like wasting time with games and drama.
If you've read this far then maybe the fact that I have a few tattoos won't change your mind. I love skin art, both on myself, and on others. I haven't gone overboard with them and they each have a very interesting story behind them, they aren't just random.

I enjoy quiet early mornings cuddling together sharing coffee and conversation. I enjoy being outside in the winter and summer playing with my daughters and just laughing. I enjoy the pale pink colors reflected by the mountains on a cold winters day as the sun is setting. I enjoy fishing and rafting on a beautiful Alaskan river and the smell of the summer greenery as the summer breeze carries it up river. I enjoy hiking, camping and being outside. I love skiing with my youngest daughter and seeing the twinkle in her eyes and hearing the joy in her laughter. I want a woman who enjoys life and isn't afraid of it either.
I am an engineer by degree but have been a project manager; managing construction projects my entire career. My ex wife would always exclaim that I am like most engineers, "emotionally and socially retarded". I am slow to warm up to most people and am guarded with my emotions. I am very reserved and not boisterous or loud. I listen well but don't always hear that well, if that makes any sense....... I am quiet at first but warm up after I get to know you. Consequently it takes a while to get to know me.
Unfortunately for me, I am not a very social person. I am not good at conversations in large groups at parties or other social functions; although I have no problem speaking to large groups for work. I tend to be more of a wallflower as I am a reserved person.
Although I was born and raised in Alaska I have no close friends. My priority and my world had been my wife and family. Now that I am single again I miss having any close friendships. My 87 year old father and 83 year old step-mother live in Palmer where my sister has been the live in care giver for our father, who has advanced Alzheimer’s disease. My two older brothers and older sister live in the lower 48. I typically relieve my sister at least once or twice every month so she can have a weekend away and recuperate.
This is a glimpse into my life and some of the things I am looking for in a woman. I don't know if I will find my true love here but I am looking forward to meeting some new people and hopefully making some new friendships along the way.
