Date someone special from Alabama, United States. So, how are YOU doing? My life is going quite well, thanks! Yeah, no one likes to talk about themselves, but that's kind of the point of an "About Me", right? Here goes...
I am a content and positive person. I have a stable, financially and personally rewarding, and fun career. I have clear goals for my life and the direction I see myself heading.
I am healthy and energetic- I should be , I stay physically active 5 or more days a week through running, weights, spin, or some other activity like hiking or inline skating (even though I feel like a nerd skating- I blame the knee and elbow pads!) I've run 4 half-marathons and one full (not in any rush to run the 26.2 again soon) and too many smaller races to count. I've recently gotten into the military-style obstacle races (i.e. Warrior Dash)- I would like to eventually do a Tough Mudder and also work up to a triathlon (though I think the swim would kill me!). Needless to say, I like to for my clothes to fit and to look and feel good. It's important to me that who ever I'm with could appreciate being fit for themselves also. He doesn't have to be a big runner, I realize that isn't for everyone, but it is an interest I plan to continue and it would be fun to be active and a little outdoorsy together. I'm not a fanatic, I need downtime just like the next person. Movies and thunderstorms, baby! I can enjoy an occasional game on the Wii, just not interested in that for hours on end.
I stay current in my profession, well-read, and informed on current events- so I can probably hold a mildly interesting conversation. No, I don't get my information from TMZ or my AOL start page. :) I could not care less or tell you anything about Jersey Shore, "housewives" of any city, or what the Bachelorette is doing this week to ruin her life. (And, I know that it is "couldn't care less", not "could care less", irregardless, I digress...) ;) It is *possible*, however, that I could tell you the win-loss record and starters for most SEC teams in the midst of football season, the latest resin cement, the line-up for the Austin City Limits music fest this fall, or even what wine or beverage would go great with that steak or fish you just grilled so awesomely.
I have a close relationship with loving parents and a younger brother. I have fun, interesting, and supportive friends, and a personal relationship with Jesus even if I don't make it to church every Sunday. It is because of these relationships that I know what I am looking for in a man and what I should expect to give and receive in a healthy relationship. I am not needing for someone to "complete me ", but more so to complement me and vice versa in positive ways and enhance each other. I am looking for someone who has a similar attitude to enjoy life with. Also, I desire someone who is comfortable in their own skin and knows what they want out of life. At this point, we should both know what we want, what we can't live without, and who can give us the best chance to have both.
I love to cook and experiment with a new or favorite recipe frequently. If you make it to the circle of trust, you could benefit! I also enjoy trying out a new restaurant and just taking in the atmosphere and conversation. My style is varied- I enjoy a formal black dress event on occasion, but can also rock a ball cap. I'm equally comfortable running through mud as baking cookies with my grandmother as having a cocktail with the Dean.
Chivalry is not dead. It is noticed and appreciated when a man is a Southern gentleman. Opening doors and other respectful acts are attractive to me. I love it when a thoughtful, giving act can bring joy to a person's heart, so I love to give them and receive them, too! Trust and honesty are critical. I guess all that's missing is an amazing man with which to share our adventures!

Most of my days are spent trying to make a difference in the lives of others. Currently this means working with my team members and helping them develop to their fullest potential. My spare time is usually spent with my family or working on my house. I own a 55 year old bungalow in Five Points that is an ongoing project. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and I enjoy the satisfaction of home renovation, but I'm not sure I will be so ambitious with my next house. :-)
I have three cool nephews and a sweet niece who I adore! It's not unusual to find me playing "choo choos" (as my 2-year-old twin nephews call trains), battling in a game of Lego Star Wars (when my oldest nephew doesn't get frustrated with my gaming abilities or lack thereof), or painting my niece's nails. They have a wonderful way of helping me see things from a different perspective, so I try to spend as much time with them as possible. Although I haven't been blessed with children of my own, if you have kids, I consider that a plus!
My faith is important to me and I pray daily for God's guidance in my life. I grew up in a small Baptist church, but don't currently attend on a regular basis. I am actively seeking a church home, so maybe that's something we can explore together.
My friends might describe me as generous, intelligent, caring, and independent. I am most at home while spending time with family and friends, playing in the park with my niece and nephews, and gathering for a backyard barbecue.
