I have a creative side that doesn't always find its outlet in my professional life, so I like to write (English undergrad), play primarily acoustic guitar.
I really enjoy music and the spectrum is broad.
I havealso children, a daughter 17 and a son 3. Opposite ends of the spectrum, but I believe I learn as much from them as I try and teach them. I take my role and duty as a father very seriously, but it's far from all work and I enjoy it.
Professionally I work in the marketing dept of a large insurance company helping financial advisors and their clients with retirement needs. It's not as boring as it sounds, but it's not like jumping out of airplanes either. I get a bit of personal fulfillment from helping people and giving presentations, educating, etc...
I finished my MBA May of last year, though, and am restless to find a more creative outlet or become my own boss. To be clear, though, I work to live, not live to work...
who I'm looking for?
I'm really looking for someone to hang out with and ideally lose track of time with. Not specific enough? I like to talk, I like to listen...so communication is big. I enjoy the arts and nature, have a mountain bike that doesn't get used enough, and my legs are good for taking walks as well. I'm analytical & like to question things, so an inquisitive mind would be helpful. I'd love someone who could sing but that's a tall order, I'd be happy to find someone who values music. I like to laugh & make people laugh, so a sense of humor is a necessity.
I like eyes that smile, and capturing photographs that grab the essence of a person or a moment in time. Someone that can relax, but knows what to fight for or over and is passionate about something.
While I'm shooting for the stars: the ability to love deeply, laugh at oneself, and admit fault or forgive trespassers would round things out nicely....these are important and simple things to me, but it's surprisingly hard to find- then again, I fail in them often as well, and therein lies the riddle.
