I'm a former journalist who quit his job to pursue a dream to work in college athletes, and spent two years working for free and pursuing a master's degree in order to do it.
I tend to relax more once people get to know me. My friends would say I'm a softie underneath a biting and sometimes-profane sense of humor, so I'm trying to balance the two more.

I'm a little bit of an odd duck in the conservative world of college sports, but I'm passionate about winning on the field and in the classroom, and I truly believe the right environment can help a student-athlete graduate and go on to a better life. That's what I'm in it for. I wouldn't be where I am without education and athletics, and my job is a chance to give back.

Wannabe mixologist - I'll make you a drink first and tell you what it is later. I'd love to own a bar someday, but it would be one where every potential customer is screened for their tact, taste in beverages and ability to carry on good conversation. I'm not holding my breath.
Pseudo-foodie. I'll eat anything once and cook anything several times until I get it right. I'm a big believer in natural foods and I try to stay as cruelty-free in my diet as I can, but I'll break down and have the occasional burger every blue moon.
I believe there is no mandate that we, as a species, will be saved. If we don't love each other and the planet, we'll be gone and the universe will merrily carry on without us. This does not stop me from succumbing to road rage from time to time, however.
Electronic books make me sad.
I tend to go into a shell when around theatrical or hyper-outgoing people. Whether someone has the patience to let me come out of that shell to me says a lot about them.
I love live music but I hate hipsters, and therefore that places me in quite the pickle.
