Date someone special from Ragland, United States. I joined this on-line dating site a few weeks ago at the "urging" of my children, especially my daughter who gave me my "CuddlesBigBuck" code name. I think they were tired of me asking them to find me a nice lady to date. LOL! When I joined, I completed my profile half-heartedly, with no photos, and a very short summary. Several ladies who I have met on this site have recommended that I add photos and write a better summary, so ...!!!
I am not very good about writing about myself, but my two greatest achievements are my children. My son is a young decorated Army Officer who has served in Iraq and my daughter recently completed her degree in accounting and is assisting her husband, they recently married, in starting his own company.
As for me, I am an outgoing, friendly, and caring person who loves children as those who know me will attest, particularly my nieces and nephews.
I love the outdoors, especially oceans, beautiful beaches, lakes, and the mountains.
I was raised by parents who believe that a person's word should be his/her bond and that you should say what you mean and mean what you say. I try to live my life in this manner. Cruel words, dishonesty, infidelity, drama, playing games or being untrustworthy in either a relationship or in life are destructive and non-productive. I wish I had learned this lesson years ago in my youth.
As a career U.S. Marine and U.S. Army Officer, (now Alabama National Guard), I am a decorated combat veteran serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Unlike when I was younger, I am not excited about dating on a short-term superficial basis, but I prefer committed relationships where two like souls can experience the joys of life together and grow as a "team" while maintaining their respective individual personalities.
I love doing just about anything. I love cooking, wine tastings, fine dining, the beach/ocean, being outdoors, doing physical hard work on my land (I own approximately 150 acres of woodlands), and doing things for others, especially children and those less fortunate than me. But, I am in no way a bleeding heart liberal.
I grew-up in Miami, Florida not too far from South Beach. I attempt to travel to Miami 1-3 times a year to see old friends, eat, skin dive for lobsters, fish in the Keys, etc.
The companion I am looking for should have similar views and enjoy much of what I enjoy, but should also have their own opinions on life/love, have their own interests that they want to share with me, and truly enjoy life as much as I do. I am definitely a romantic, by this I mean flowers, candlelight, bubble-baths, low lights, massages, fine wine, cooking, being "touchy/feely" and snuggling. My Mom is Italian, so we were raised in a large, hugging, and loving family!
