I believe in balance; few (if any) of the world's problems can be solved with extremes. I believe in constantly trying to expand my personal knowledge, and examine my beliefs. This includes trying to be honest with myself and identifying flaws in my own belief system.
I studied Military History at the Academy, as I want to learn from the past and try to not make the same mistakes that others have made. I am currently working on a Masters in Homeland Security.
I want to retire by the time I am 65 (earlier if possible), so saving money is very important to me. Spending within my means is a must. However, I don't want to hate life between now and retirement, so I set aside money to have fun with, as well. I usually will spend more money on something that I think has high value and will last, and skip buying or pay little for stuff that is quickly used up.
My sense of humor is often dry or tinged with a bit of sarcasm. I do not view myself as a very 'funny' person - if I try to be funny, it usually fails miserably. So, I entertain myself, and if others around me think its funny - bonus. I can appreciate irony in most situations.
