I'm a sensitive and compassionate guy, but grounded enough not to be thin-skinned. I have a good sense of humor, understand sarcasm, and I can usually root out the lighter side of a situation. I maintain a very high moral standard for myself, although I am not really religious. I just feel that actions, character, and what you "do unto others" are much more indicative of the quality of person than labels or posturing about religion.
I divorced last year, and am enjoying being the parent of 2 boys (12 and 5) and their menagerie of pets. My work is a big part of my life, as I am self-employed, but this also gives me flexibility.
Like you, I am looking for someone with similar interests, outlook, and goals to talk with, get to know, and see where things lead. I always have been and always will be a one-woman guy.
I am not a rabid sports fan, but not opposed at all to watching or going to events. I do enjoy watching Bama football, or seeing a Havoc game.
I don't do the whole bar, nightclub, and dancing thing anymore. Peace, calm, and fun are what I'm about.
I listen to lots of different music, depending on my mood, but I'm an 80's child, and not much of a country fan at present. I really get sick of anything autotuned; it all sounds the same to me.
What I am looking for in a woman:
1. Honesty and faithfulness. I won't let YOU down, and I don't want to be involved with someone who does not have inner integrity as well.
2. Mentally and emotionally stable
3. Self-sufficient and secure with themselves - you shouldn't NEED me, you should WANT me
4. Attractive, not overweight - but I certainly have no delusions of dating a supermodel or anything. Don't even want to... I'm a 38 year old dad. NONE of us are perfect; I'm certainly not even close! Physical attraction is important, but so are mental and emotional attraction.
5. Ability to communicate…the GOOD, the BAD, everything…hopes, desires, likes, dislikes, or just what is on their mind. Communication is essential, and I believe just about anything can be worked through if it is talked over.
I appreciate when people come to me with something instead of internalizing it. I'm a good listener and I like to help with problems; it makes me feel good to help when I can.
