Date a soulmate from Alabama, United States. Hey there! I'm Scott and have been in B'ham for over a year and a half now. My sister and brother-in-law just moved her from Michigan, too so now I have some people to hang out with but since I'm the only employee in this state for my company, I really don't have coworkers to hang around with after work.
I'm an economic refugee from Michigan. I am here to start my life over after a divorce and would like someone to show me things places to go and things to do that only a local would know. I do hang out regularly at On Tap in Hoover but that's not really the place to meet women.
A little about me. I was born and raised in Michigan so I'm complete with a Midwest accent. I am culturally Midwestern but I do enjoy Southern things as my family originally is Southern. I grew up a couple hours outside of Chicago so I identify with Chicago and Chicago sports way more than anything culturally related to Detroit. I know it's blasphemy down here but I honestly don't care much about the SEC or college football in general. The Midwest is the birthplace of the NFL so that's what I've always followed.
I also am non-religious. Where I'm from, if anyone under 40 went to church outside of Christmas, Easter, Weddings or Funerals that we'd view those people as religious nuts. I know this is the Bible Belt and that it's expected for people to be "God Fearing" down here but I'm not going to lie and pretend I believe in something that I don't in order not to upset or offend other people. I know this past paragraph is probably a deal-breaker for a lot of you but I feel I should be up-front about my view points than having to have a real awkward conversation down the road.
If you're still reading this, then I applaud you. :p All in all, I'm a good guy looking to find someone special who I can FINALLY be myself around. I love cooking and consider myself a foodie, so if you like trying new foods and things like that, you'll love me! I love hard rock/metal music. I play the drums and have been casually looking for a band to join down here or to form one. I do have one tattoo (not visible with a shirt on) and have hair long enough to be pony-tailed. I have no plans on cutting it, either. :)
I am also getting lap-band surgery in July. I've been overweight my entire life and finally have the means to get the help needed for me to feel better and to look better.
I am also a career college student. With life getting in the way, my educational journey has been derailed at times. It didn't help that I transferred schools and changed majors a couple times. I've settled on a business management degree from Davenport University, which is a Michigan university; I'm finishing it up online full-time. I did go to Western Michigan University for a while and that gave me the awesome opportunity to play collegiate lacrosse. I used to coach high school lacrosse up north.
I know I haven't stated what I'm looking for in a mate so I guess if you've liked what you read so far, then you may be the one! :p The only real prerequisite I have is that you either be a college grad or in college in some capacity. I really want to be with someone who is intelligent and had the discipline to get through school so they can have the career they want so they don't live paycheck-to-paycheck.

For starters, I'm not your typical guy; not in this neck of the woods. So, in some ways I stand out ...in good ways.
About me, I'll start from the out and work my way in.
I'm a little toned but not very muscular. Just enough to flex and show a few bumps here and there. I'm pretty comfortable with my body and I love not having to need a tanning bed. :)
I like jogging (though I've not made much time for that lately) and working out. Not working out to build huge mucles, just enough to have good strength and endurance.
I like food, I eat every day. :) I enjoy a cold beer on a hot day, a nice wine every now and then, and a spirit straight or mixed too.
I like good music like Hip Hop, Hard Rock, but, I also enjoy other genres like Classical, Merengue, Salsa, and Mexican genres and much more ...except rap, it's too negative and hateful.
I love movies, from all sorts of genres. a have a good size collection ranging fom Seven, 300, Elizabethtown, Finding Nemo, American Beauty and more. I love the feeling afte a good movie, be it an inspirational story, a great battle, a good mystery, or a love story.
I believe myself to be a man of values. I value my freedom, my country, and I respect the freedom of others.
I believe in living an honest, healthy, and civil life, but stepping out of the norm once in a while can be a good thing.

I like to stay busy, be it work or study or a hobby. This is not to say that I don't enjoy spending time on the couch, but life is too short to waste it laying around.
Oh, I'm not a morning person. I'm not a cranky morning person. I just like to sleep in when I can, but I can get up at 7AM any day without a problem if I need to.
I've had some adventures and a few good stories; I've sky-dived, climbed mountains, driven cross country, I've been in many states, I've swimmed in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, ...I've had good times. Still there are other things I'd like to do and other places I'd like to see.
Who would I like to find? What do I like in a woman? It's hard to say, because I don't really have a type. For starters, just someone who catches my attention. I'm interested in finding a beautiful woman's heart to call my home. I've dated Latinas, Whites, Asians, and one Black girl; so, beauty to me is more than skin-deep. Values, morals, virtues, character; these are important to me.
I like listening to a woman speak (speak, not make noise). I could listen for hours. I enjoy seeing a woman, while they speak, while they eat, while they listen, ...I don't know, maybe I'm just weird (hopefully in a good way). I like girls who can keep my attention. Beautiful eyes are always a plus; I make eye contact when I speak or listen. Beyond that, long or short hair, brown or green eyes, dark or light skinned; it doesn't matter. I can see the beauty within, but I'm interested in finding love.
Love, but there's a thing about love. It's either there, or it's not. You can't force it, trade it, or demand it. I have had ladies fall in love with me, and I have fallen in love with one or two ladies, but I've yet to love a woman that loves me back.
...I don't alway speak very much (though I can), but I tend to write too much more than often.
