This is the second or third time I've done the online thing in the past couple of years with no previous success. I don't do it often, and usually don't stay on for long, but I give it a try every now and then to see what may come.
I've been quite content for most of my life just being single. I have dated from time to time, but nothing usually that serious. I do have a little boy who is now four and is a huge part of my life. He has a mother who is remarried and still a major part of his life, so I'm not looking for someone to replace her for him, but would like for my spouse to love him unconditionally regardless. He is a sweet boy, and is disciplined well.
As for me and my personality: I am the type that likes to take the lead. I believe that if a family is centered around Christ, especially the head of the family, then the trials they face in life may be more easily overcome. I love my job as it affords me the opportunity to work from home and travel occasionally, which is fun to me. I would love to find someone who could take off and go with me on business trips and make some fun out of them. I've been to Disney World twice in six months, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, New Orleans, and Dallas, all by my lonesome ;-).
When I am home, I like to garden and raise a few farm animals like chickens for fresh eggs. I live an organic lifestyle and like eating healthy foods. I do enjoy cooking, but would love for someone to pick up the slack :-) I rarely eat out, if that is any indication of how I like to eat and how often I cook.
I'm open for just about anyone to meet, however, it is important to have similarities in crucial areas, especially in faith in Christ. Other small things like exercise and doing fun and active things, cooking, similar child-rearing ideas, would all be a huge plus.

Date men and women from United States. Well, I am just a single guy just browsing around just to see what is out there. I have been in the military service for over 10 years now and I will be out of the Army. It has been a ride but I think it is time to move on and do big and better things for myself. In those 10 years I have been overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan a total of 4 times. Seems like each deployment was longer and longer. Been stationed in Georgia and recently in the State of Texas. Like most jobs it has its ups and downs. The only problem is establishing roots which you can't do because you are always moving and such. I think it is time to settle down for a change and enjoy life.
What I am looking for is a very nice female companion that I can talk with and just hang out with. I think friendship is important first. Then I will go from there.

You're walking in a busy train station. I see you in the distance. I push my way through the mass of vacant faces.
You drop your cell phone. We both reach to pick it up when our eyes lock. The cacophony of noise fades away. A giraffe is heard in the distance.
I tell you my name. You already forget it. I stare deeply into the deep depths of your (insert color) eyes as I question if you're "coming or going." You tell you're leaving forever, just as the train whistle blows.
I reach for you as you get on. The doors shut. I slowly shuffle forward as the train lifts anchor. My pace hastens, eyes darting through each window hoping to see you. My pegleg clicking in rapid susscession.
Then I see you. You look back. You panic and pull the string thingy that stops the train because I assume they're still totally on there these days. You run to me; my left leg now splintered 3 inches shorter. You look up-- and realize I still have your phone.
You tell the conductor I stole it, and I'm severly beaten.

I just wrote that on no sleep. I'll regret how dumb it is later. If you can stand silly sarcasm, and a dad of two great kids, we can easily get along. I'm new to Huntsville and work a great job, but it's mostly guys. I'd love to meet a great girl in the area to be friends, or atleast complete my scavenger hunt.
