I am an English grad and I currently teach English Composition. I spend most of my free time reading and writing (fiction mostly). Writing is what I am most passionate about.
I am going to go ahead and say this upfront: I am a nerd. That may save you from having to read the rest.
I enjoy reading literature and genre fiction, but other types of books interest me too (especially if I can pretend that I am doing "research"). I watch anime and I'm always looking for a new series to watch. When a big sci-fi, fantasy, or horror film comes out, you'll find me at the local theatre. I don't dress up like my favorite characters (one has to draw a line somewhere), but it would be nice to go to Comic-con someday.
Although I am open to meeting people who are different than me, the kind of person I am hoping to attract is someone who shares some of my core beliefs. I value, for example, strong relationships with the people who matter over a busy social life. I do enjoy going out, but I'm not the type who enjoys clubbing and other activities for empty socializing or partying. Truth be told, going to clubs in general just doesn't appeal to me. I apologize to just about everyone else. Not my cup of tea. Speaking of tea, you are more likely to find me at a cafe. While I'm not looking for someone who is perfect morally, I think that a good match for me would be someone who at least acknowledges the importance of morality. We are human beings, not robots, not animals.
I value authenticity over making things look right. If you are having a bad day I would rather know about it instead of being greeted with a fake smile (not to mention that fake smiles can be creepy).
I am grateful for every moment that I can use to learn and grow. Life, as far as I can tell at this point, seems to be one long improv act.
