I was injured in a diving accident on August 15th 2011. I’m still the same goofy, funny and awesome guy I was before. I’m just in a wheelchair now. I’m not sad nor depressed about it. I am just glad to be alive. I dove in a pool in Panama City, Florida. I was on vacation with friends for my birthday, which was 2 days before. It was our last night there. I broke my neck and was paralyzed instantly. I was still conscious and could not get up. I ended up drowning. My friends thought I was playing at first. I was dead for a couple of minutes. One of my buddies knew CPR thankfully. It took them almost 20 minutes to get me breathing on my own. I was given less than a 1% chance to ever walk again. I’ve been proving doctors wrong about everything. I’m recovering better than ever expected. I’m getting little movement back in my legs and abs. I also gained feeling everywhere. It’s just not the same as before, but I can feel. I am paralyzed from the nipple line down. I’m open and will answer any question about my injury and my accident. I just want someone who can look past the chair. I don't complain and I try to do everything I can myself. It wouldn't be that bad to try dating a good looking guy in a wheelchair.

I also enjoy watching and attending performances (especially performing arts such as theater, dance, & music). I am relearning how to play the piano, and grew up playing the trumpet. Throughout high school I played percussion and also was a drummer for several church praise bands. I grew up in a home where oldies like Dean Martin, rock n roll like Elvis, and classic country like Jim Reeves and Hank Williams Sr. could be heard throughout the house, and on Sundays typically Southern Gospel was always on the radio. I really love music of all types and genres and typically jump around in what I listen to; however, I always prefer music that can be sung along to.
I am fond of movies, and try to keep up by watching all of the movies that come out (yes even movies like "The Notebook" and yes I do have emotions, and yes I am not afraid to show a little emotion after watching sweet movies like "The Notebook" and "A Walk to Remember"). I avoid the horrific and gory movies preferring action, adventure, and comedy.
I love sporting events of all kinds during all seasons. I love healthy competition, and grew up playing sports like soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball and tennis. My family also frequently attended Auburn University volleyball and basketball games. While I was getting my undergraduate degree I worked part-time as a public address announcer for women's athletics thus developed my love for many kinds of athletics. I also love being in the outdoors! Especially cycling and hiking. I love getting away to North Carolina and unwinding as much as possible, and my family is truly blessed to have a vacation home in the NC mountains. I love the mountains, especially spending time in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
I love spending time with people I can laugh with. Laughter was a constant part of my upbringing. I come from a family with a wonderful sense of humor, and try to surround myself with joyful people who love living life. Jesus Christ is my rock, and it is my relationship with him that provides the foundation for the joy that I have. I consider myself a follower of Christ above anything else.
