I'm not necessarily looking for a huge promise...I just know I want more than a casual relationship. My job requires travel, sometimes for extended periods of time. However, I know that when I'm home I want to be with my partner more than a couple times a month and I know that no matter what I want to hear from her regularly. Actually, finding someone that wants to contact me first thing in the morning and before they go to bed would be so cool. That is how relationships are just meant to be.
I may start out a little slow, but in the end I really am looking for a full time monogamous relationship. Even in a full time relationship though, people still need time of their own. I'm not jealous of that time and I want a partner who can appreciate that as well.
I do have children who, though grown, are still at home for various reasons. I'm not interested in dropping my relationship with them to start a new one with someone else. I wouldn't expect my partner to do that either. I'm a realist which is neither positive nor negative, it just is. I find adventure in many ways and enjoy sharing my adventures. I have a different sense of humor, so I've been told. I hope to find someone who can find adventure in just about anything and has a sense of humor as well. While I travel for work, I truly love going to new places and see MORE! It's just better doing that with someone else.

I enjoy a wide variety of hobbies. I enjoy going to the movies, bowling, target shooting, fishing, playing pool, reading, hiking, and just hanging out (Not in any particular order). I used to have a motorcycle and plan on getting another one. Nothing like enjoying the open road on a bike.

I am a realist, and like everyone else I have short comings. However I constantly work on overcoming them and expect my partner to do so also. That doesn't mean I am critical of myself and others. I know what I like and can tolerate therefore I avoid those things that upset me when possible.
Some things I don't like about myself: I procrastinate when I'm not reminded I have something to take care of. I'm spontaneous, perhaps to much so, as I don't plan on anything. However, I'm a punctual person whenever I have to be somewhere, don't get that confused with spontaneity and procrastination.
I love dogs, cats, and fish for pets. Dogs for their unconditional loyalty and love. Cats for their independence and playfulness. Fish because they are relaxing to watch. I'm not much of a horse person, I just don't trust them - they don't have an off switch you know. I do enjoy watching them when they are running or playing in an open field though. I'm OK without pets, and may not replace my dog whenever he passes on due to the pain of losing them. But life is much richer with pets in it, so who knows.
