It would be nice to really connect with someone again, someone strong, independent, confident, honest, sincere, generous, intelligent, kind-hearted, attractive, happy, positive, sharp, realistic, secure, fun .... there are so many adjectives, where's my thesaurus. All things I like to be. Someone who understands, like I do, that life is not a fairy tale. I am optimistic though. A great woman's profile on here noted how everyone over 30 or so has almost certainly suffered some pain or loss or disappointments in life. These things are unavoidable. Another woman on here gave me another idea, and because a guy I know recently thought I was 45, I've knocked a few years off my real age, just a few, to see how many of you in your 40s or late 30s might have cut your searching age range off at 50.
I do understand those of you who are reluctant to post photos. Maybe this internet screening process can be okay after all. I'm giving this a try after hearing about it working for others, and we must be open and willing about the possibilities here. I am considered to be a (still) attractive clean-cut good laid-back guy, a bit reserved, dry sense of humor, and I'm being objective. I'm serioius. Really. I promise. I have this paternal instinct going on and wouldn't mind being a first-time father, as bizarre as that would be, but maybe the closest thing to that in my future is possible step fathering or stepgrandfathering. I'm really an uncomplicated good guy at heart, doing rather complicated and taxing work as a professional, successfully, which leaves so little time or opportunity to meet many great women. I love my mother and must spend time checking on her. I prefer active vacations to sightseeing, but a ski trip out west delivers both.

Date men and women from United States. Above all she's kind. Kindness, it seems, comes in around 5th or 6th or 20th on the list of "what people are looking for." Of course part of kindness is the desire to share experiences, stories, beliefs, adventures, cooking, insights, and, yes, even hard or sad times. She'll not hesitate to "set me straight" when I'm wrong, but she won't be hurtful about it. I won't feel that I "have to" do this or that for her, I will "want to" do this or that for and with her because her happiness will be everything to me.
But all that is really takes a back seat to The Main Thing (besides the being kind thing): I like being with women who laugh and make me laugh (preferably without employing threats), who aren't paranoid of science, don't make scrunched-up, angry faces when trying something new to eat (one can always fake it, at least while people are watching, right?).
