People can say or type almost anything. Until you are confident enough with yourself and a bit trusting to 'put yourself out there', you really won't get know someone unless you get out from behind your computer screen, get in your car, and go meet them.
In a gut splitting laugh, Mom would say of her 68 years relationship with Dad; "Live, Love and Fight Forever".. The night before he died, mom left his hospice bed and looked to me and said "I can't stop thinking as I kiss him goodnight it might be my last"..... as it turns out - it was. Death is a sobering thing to witness; I was the only one with him when he passed. Life is so very short. We all need to laugh more. Dad loved mom dearly and she him. That's Committment. Nobody's gauranteed tomorrow.
SO LAUGH - The rest of life is just details.. My pics give you a glimps of me, but theres a lot more to discover... I'll leave some things for conversation, but I am a gentlemen and do have manners.
As friends go, I seek a down to earth, emotionally stable, lady who understands what it takes to make a friendship tick. She is a spiritual being and desires to have a relationship with God. She is confident yet humble, bolld yet meek, she is gracious when she needs to be and has compassion for those who have not. She is a hoot.. She loves to laugh and can adapt to just about any situation. She is not proud, but she neither lacks solid self esteem. She knows who she is, but doesn't have to prove it to the world. She takes responsibility for her actions when they are good, and, when they are bad. She is healthy, knows what it means to be physically fit, and likes to exercise for all the benfit it brings as a lifestyle. She has grace for a child with a skinned knee, or, a broken heart. She is financially savy and realizes a fixed paycheck can only go so far, be it her own or mine. She's up for fun and adventure.
As a very loving Dad, any friend I would potentially make is considered not only as fitting with me, but also them. That neither means I would introduce that dynamic hastily. If you are a parent who truly cares for your child, than you will appreciate looking out for their hearts when it comes to making new firends on the adult level. My kids have been sadly put through a lot, so I want to be very cautious with how I carry my own actions going forward for their sakes.
That said, as fate is having it, I don't get to see my kids as often as I would like. My kids live three hours away and my girls are teenagers now, getting quite absorbed with their friends and less with "dad". If you choose to pass me by because of my kids, than respectfully, it would be your loss, as they are really a ray of sunshine and well mannered to all. I get many compliments in public of people astounded; that is just stating a fact. I say that to say that while I am open to reveal my love for my kids, the reality is that I am usually flying solo 90% of the time.
I should likely emphasize that I am finding myself really enjoying exercising regularly and pushing myself to stay in shape and eat right, It'd be nice to meet somebody who also liked doing exercise and do so together (not 'compete' just companion), from biking to aerobics to any cardio, and things outdoors. I've determined that that would be an important thing to me to have that in common, and laugh along the way.:)
