Meet a man from Alabama, United States. Greetings . I am new to making online friends, so please bear with me. Undoubtedly, I will commit an online faux pas, so do not hold it against me. If I pique your interest, contact me. Have a question, ask; straight questions always receive straight answers. My first mistake may have been watching Tosh.0, on Comedy Central, while building my profile, but we shall see.
I chose Brownpelican for my profile, because I grew up on Mobile Bay and what better animal represents all that is wonderful about living here. By the 1970s, pelicans were all but gone from the Bay, and seeing one was a special treat. Today, there are several thousand nesting pairs on the Bay. I spend alot of my spare time on or around the water, all year long, fishing, boating. We camp up in the Delta during the winter (no mosquitoes or sweating while trying to sleep), canoe, go the beach; getting outside is all that matters. I do not hunt much anymore, as my daughter doesn't like my shooting poor defenseless animals. We just love seeing the scenery, the birds, and animals. There is some amazing, very wild areas around here I could show you. When my daughter is at her mother's, it is usually me and the dog out in the boat, and while I can talk to him, his replies are usually incomprehensible. Wonderful things are usually best when shared with someone special (my dog is special but he sometimes smells and sheds like a fiend).
Several years ago we were beach fishing down at Dauphin Island, catching Croakers, and a Blue Heron walked up. Claire (maybe 8 at the time) named him Grandpa, as his feathers were a little ruffled and unkempt. She announced she was going to make a Croaker disappear; mind you, these Croakers were big; could Grandpa could get it down? She tosses it over, and that bird was on it like white on rice, snatched up the fish, bobbled it around in his beak, until he had it positioned just right...and down the hatch. We laughed so hard; it was the funniest thing. Pretty soon we had three Blue Herons around us waiting for Croakers. Great day. My daughter is the most wonderful thing to ever happen to me (and my most magnificent accomplishment). I regularly post pictures of our activities on Facebook, for family and friends, and to look at my page, you would think our life is one long grand field trip.
The other thing you would notice on my FB page is that I like to socialize with my friends.I live in downtown Mobile, in one of the historic districts, and we are social. It is one interesting group of straight, gay couples, single men and women, married, ect. (oh, and if you think all the fags automatically go to hell, move on to someone else's profile).the Oakleigh Social Club; anybody can join, you just have to laugh, drink, listen to music, get along, and think Callaghan's Irish Social Club is the best place ever. I walk several times a week downtown, go to all the events, and cannot wait for Mardi Gras. My friends are also one of the things I am truly thankful for.
Oh, yea, and I do have a job. One would think that goes without saying, but. I have this friend, and the running joke is, "if S**** is out with a guy, he must be unemployed." Ultimately, I received my business degree from the Univ. of South Alabama and my MBA from Tulane. I am self employed and have an investment advisory practice; yes, finance but I am not part of the 1%, so do not come Occupy my office lawn. It is good work: I work for myself and help people. I have counted as my friends people who are twice my age. Could I be so lucky?
I could tell stories about myself way beyond what this forum permits. 4000 characters seemed like alot when I began writing about myself, but it isn't really is it? In a nutshell I am looking for companionship; everything else begins from there. I am looking for someone who takes care of themselves; can dress up or dress down, who likes to get out. If you think I am the kind of person you would like to hang around with, then contact me.

Meet people from Alabama, United States. I am kind of like a teddy bear. Affectionate, cuddly. But I got your back when the time comes. I am a little old-fashioned. I believe that getting to know someone can be a great experience., you know, finding out what makes you giggle(not just smile). I believe in the importance of a kiss.....a real one(pecks do not count). I like to spoil my partner, and must admit, don't mind being spoiled a little in return. I love to out to a nice dinner or movie or listen to some good music....but at the same time can enjoy watching a movie under a blanket with a frozen daquiri. I am looking for someone who I still dream about, even though she is right next to me in bed. I love good conversation, so she must be somewhat of a talker. Someone who can hold a conversation about the economy, or about Khloie & Lamar, in other words, anything and everything.

Meet a man from United States. I'm looking for someone I can relate to, and laugh with. I am a deep thinker and I would like someone who thinks outside the box. My ideal mate would be someone who believes in God but does not prescribe to any one religion... What I mean is for them to be open to other possibilities.
Date a soulmate from United States. We'll probably never meet in the grocery store. So let's pretend we're there now. I'm the tall guy in front of you buying cereal, milk and some weird, new beer I just found. And you're that cute girl behind me buying salad, cheese, wine, dark chocolate and another bottle of wine. You're gazing at your cellphone when suddenly it slips out of your hand. I hear you gasp as it falls (in slow motion) toward the cold, hard, iPhone-smashing floor. I quickly react (with lighting-fast reflexes from playing soccer- like 20 years ago) by sticking out a size 12 Lucchese- just as the phone lands safely on my foot. I pick up your phone and hand it to you and you're like all, "Thanks! I'm always dropping that thing."
That's when I notice your smile. And that huge wad of keys sticking out of your purse. (Why do girls always have so many keys?) So now the cashier is smacking her gum- waiting for me to pay, and suddenly I can't focus on the questions on the SwipeOut machine. Credit or Debit? Cash back? Si or No? In my head, I'm trying to think of something witty to say. Something to extend our brief encounter. Because I saw you earlier. Over by the Fresca. And I wondered about you. Because you look like my type. (I determined that in less than three seconds.) And it looks like you've just come from work. Just like me. And it looks like you're buying dinner for yourself. Just like me. (Yes, I know cereal makes a lousy dinner.) And now you're standing behind me. So now's my chance to shine. To deliver that clever line that continues our conversation beyond the grocery store. Beyond the parking lot. And on to some spontaneous dinner at a cool restaurant, where we learn we both love to travel. We both love old, classic cars. And the conversation flows so well, we stay until they're stacking the chairs and sweeping up.
But back to reality. Now my bags are all packed. (I went with plastic this time.) And just as I'm about to turn and say whatever stupid thing comes to mind, I get the kiss of death. Your phone rings. Rats! I turn for one last glance and you smile and wave (with your pinky) as you mouth the words "Thank you." And so I walk out, dinner in hand, thinking "Oh well, maybe I'll see her again- someday."
So here we are.
Here's the executive summary on me: I'm funny, creative and extremely hard-working. I'm honest. And I'm comfortable in my own skin. I'm very easy-going and I like putting others at ease. I have a great family. My parents have been married my whole life. I'm not worried about the economy or global warming, but I am a bit concerned about the possibility of bed bugs in hotels. I prefer timeless, classic things in all aspects of my life. I love alone time and I'm very independent. But it is not good for man to be alone. And that's why I'm here.
Because we'll probably never meet in the grocery store.

Date someone special from United States. First goal in Life is to discover The Truth. To just UnderStand. I read a lot. I keep up with current news and events. Have recently become a big fan of the radio show Coast To Coast. I used to try to exercise regularly but knee problems have slowed me down for now. Currently working on The Calculus but it is slow going. Looking to soon upgrade employment perhaps. Music - Rock, Alternative, and a lot of odd/weird stuff. I am trying the Meditation route and expanding the Consciousness. Is it working, sure I guess. I try to explore new ideas and push the boundaries in my head. I try to levitate but no luck so far. I have read that if you meditate long enough you will tap into these Universal abilities. Partial luck so far. Try to joke and be funny but generally it is only funny to me. I try to expound a lot of Love from my Heart. It is the correct way for living. I have gone to different MeetUp groups just be out and around people. Try new activities and experience a little Life beyond doing nothing.
Meet men and women from United States. Well, they say that you have to go out on a limb to find the fruit, so here it goes:
I'm a down to earth type of guy who has a strong work ethic. I've finally come to the conclusion that I no longer want to sacrifice everything personally to achieve professional success and I'm no longer invincible. Maybe that decision comes with maturity, financial independence, and/or the reality of being a slow learner. (haha)
About a year ago, I took some advice from a friend and purchased some land to mentally & physically escape from work in an effort to bring some balance into my life. Imagine that, balance? (I actually had a tough time spelling that word. (haha)The farm has truly been a blessing. There are times when the tranquility, beauty, and wildlife of that place just absolutely takes my breath away.
I love to laugh at my expense. I enjoy all kinds of music (except for rap), hanging out with friends, drinking a beer, physically working and getting dirty on the farm, grilling and/or chilling out, and taking road trips to find some old, rusty advertising signs.
I'm looking for a woman who is funny (even kind of goofy & can laugh at themselves), optimistic (no woes are me please), intelligent, responsible, honest, loyal, and spontaneous. Above all: "Must have reliable transportation" ( lol )
I do believe in Jesus Christ. Although I don't go to church every Sunday, I do say prayers during the course of a day. If you have any questions or want to talk, then let me know. I hope your search ends with all of your wildest dreams coming true.
