I like confident and assertive women, but I don't at all mind being with someone who needs support now and again. I also find energy and passion very appealing - it can be a lot of fun to learn about the things that someone else is interested in and share those interests with them.
In terms of personality, I think I'd describe myself as confident, even-tempered, and straightforward. I've always found ways to make something out of even difficult situations, so I'm not easily fazed when troubles come up. I'm much more likely to find a way around a problem than either be bothered by it or just endure it. I don't tend to get angry very often, and I usually try to get a good idea of what's going on when someone does something I don't like rather than flying off the handle right away. I'm not crazy-out there with my feelings, but I don't try to hide them either. If things are going well between us you'll know it *grin*. In the same vein, I prefer to have a good understanding of how my dates feel about me. I'd rather be directly told that the chemistry doesn't seem to be there than continue seeing someone after they're no longer interested to "let me down easy."
Now, my selling points - what would make me a good date? I'm reasonably bright and have a good sense of humor, so I typically don't have long, empty spaces on a date where no one knows what to say. I have an honest interest in people and will actually listen to things you have to say and maybe even produce some thoughtful comments. I'll always ask what you want to do, but I'll have my own ideas so we won't ever get stuck in a bunch of "I don't know... what do you want to do"s. I think I'm confident without being pushy, and considerate without being a push-over. I enjoy having fun, but I can take things seriously when things are serious. I'm open minded and tolerant - I find that differences between people to be points of interest rather than sources of problems. I'm comfortable being verbally and physically intimate, and I make an effort to do both well. I enjoy giving back and neck massages :).
