Which is not to say that I am not interested in a relationship, its just that I like the idea of meeting people and doing what you like to do with the people that like to do it too. I like to do a lot of different things. I like to Hike and Camp Outdoors. Not everyone is into that and not everyone wants to get invloved in that. Why should you commit to someone and miss out on doing those things that you love. I love to drink wine. Not everyone likes wine. I would much rather enjoy a glass of wine with someone that can appreciate it than with someone that is just doing it because I am.
If you love to go watch a football game, should you forego that joy because your partner in a relationship doesn't like to go? I don't think so. I like to go to the movies with someone that enjoys going to the movies. I have someone that enjoys going out to dinner every once in awhile, as I do. I have firends that like to go bowling every once in awhile. Should I not go because the 'person' I am with doesn't enjoy bowling because they "are not any good"?
It all comes down to this. I am as content as I can be with who I am and what I like to do. I am not a year out of a marriage that seemed to be all give from my side and no give from her side. All at once, I had my wife have an affair with another man and deny it with everything she has in her, she then packed up and moved my children out after nearly 15 years together (taking nearly everything we had collected together as a couple), and I lost my job of 13 years. I have been at the bottom and am on my way back to the top and I am not interested in anything that is going to hinder that. I know what I have and what I have to offer others and I think it is a lot.
I am always interested in meeting new people. I am fun to be around and have a great sense of humor. But I am not interested in being someone's instant father figure for their children. I have two boys that I love more than anything in this world. I am not opposed to someone else's children, but I am not interested in being around children or having people around my children if there is no reason for it.
I don't really think taking a picture of yourself with your phone in the mirror is the best thing you can come up with for your profile picture. Get someone else to hold the phone if that is all you have.
I am very involved in the lives and activities of my two boys so there isn't a lot of time left for a lot else. That means that the time I do have to spend with other people doing other things must be enjoyable time with enjoyable people. There is no magic formula for compatibility but I can tell you that it is not going to be a miracle provided by Match.com.
