Date someone special from New Castle, United States. I don't think that I'm much different than anyone else putting themselves out there. I'm working out of the house in a town of 3500 people and hoping to run into "you" under those circumstances ....well, you never know, but I don't think my odds are good. So, here I am. It's a good period of my life. I have a job I love, I'm comfortable, so far I've managed to stay balanced 80-90% of the time with work stepping in to demand something extra only on occasion. I moved up here to the mountains 4 years ago from Scottsdale (way to hot) via Chicago (my roots) and I can't see myself wishing for anything more. It is a simple, uncluttered existence up here which suits me well, as I can certainly put myself into disarray by overcomplicating my life. But not so here....not so far anyway. I guess now I'm at that point where I'm looking to share all of this with someone. I'm up for just about anything activity wise but I must say that camping and country music are not on my list. I had no exposure to them in my younger years and, well, I'm still a city boy in many ways. I am more than happy to hike, bike, ski or roam aimlessly these wonderful mountains for the entire day whenever the opportunity arises but I do need to be home before dark if that's OK.
What else can I share? Well, I have a love affair with food. I eat all the time, mostly cooking at home. I managed fine dining restaurants in my past life both back home and in San Francisco and picked up a thing or two from the chefs I worked with. I also had quite a bit of exposure to the wine industry and I enjoy revisiting that world every so often. I don't know. Maybe in an effort to break away from the norm a little I can offer up some stuff that's a little off the cuff? I'm ambidextrous favoring the left (write lefty, throw righty), I am partially color blind (its generational I think), I have GOT to sleep with a fan or something that emits a constant drone (our AC went out one summer as a kid), I've got phenomenal penmanship but cannot draw anything at all, I'm fanatical about having fresh bedding (love Downy!), I will most likely never tire of watching my Lab "get his swim on" in the river (it brings me joy to see him happy), one of the best feelings is getting up in the middle of the night and opening up a fully stocked fridge full of Thanksgiving leftovers, I have no problem asking for directions if lost (and this is because I get lost almost immediately upon leaving my driveway my sense of direction is so bad), my memory, however, is scary good, I was born a "blue baby" and almost didn't make it for those first few days but since then nothing broken, contracted, afflicted or operated on) mind here while writing very fast is that I hate this exercise because I'm already thinking that I'll be rewriting this again tomorrow for some reason sure to be found on the revisit. Who am I looking for? Hmm...we definitely need to be attracted to one another but I am not sure that I can define that from a physical perspective. It's just to carnal. You either are or aren't. But as important as the physical is, it's the rest of you that really counts. I hope this doesn't come out wrong but I'd like to meet a woman who likes being just that - a woman. I mean, is it really that bad having the door held open for you? I just don't get it. Beyond that, I'm hoping your genuine, creative, curious, and only relatively sane (I find a little craziness is a good thing). Well, I think that's enough for now. Thanks for window shopping me.
